On radio he also claimed he touched it with his fingers. Well neither hand went near the ball so that's a load of bullocks as was the whole review. Didn't have the balls to over turn what was an obviously incorrect call from the goal line replays. Why are they there? Getting paid for not doing their job professionaly.

Yep not bad. Possibly for JJ

Well what a bog ordinary weekend of results that was. No real stand outs at Casey aside from Tomo.

White pretty quiet as well

The transition is too slow and the bulk of Casey's entries inside 50 have been appalling. Some of the worst goal kicking i've seen doesn't help. May have kicked themselves out of it.

Woe having a solid game around the stoppage. A good chance to come in for JJ if he continues

Lovely kill from Freeman there ..possibly saving a goal

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Very hard to judge any forward's game if the ball's spending a large % of the time in the oppo's forward half Ollie. Only the last 10 minutes of the 2nd quarter did we see it going our way for a chunk.

Been over using the HB all season. Most of his kicks are up & unders as well. Caught far too often attempting the fend offs. Seems to have lost the bit of burst speed he once had. He still has the work rate and effort but having a very ordinary season so far, mostly at Casey.

Too many inside mids Bin. Woe if he plays out of his skin today would be the ideal exchange for JJ. Unlikely but who knows. Otherwise we don't really have another decent outsider that can impact at present aside from Tracc who is being asked to play a fair chunk forward. And rightly so. I'd still play woe and just let him learn the ropes. Will eventually be the silk and class we are sorely missing through the middle. The other alternative is Spargo in for JJ. Rivers as the outside mid, keeping Hibb in the mix with him & McVee asked to play the running HB interceptor River's role as a duo.

Yes a joe-the-goose. Missed the only deliberate gettable shot by alot from not far out. A window presents for Moniz or Spargo for mine subject to their performances today. Might need Smith to cover up forward for Grundy out over the next two weeks until we see how Macca goes. Smith was the only tall forward to take a contested mark and kick a set shot goal in his limited time up forward. If Macca makes it back then yes, maybe Smith goes back to sub but not before imv. Need the alternate TF to assist JVR.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Schache with JVR as the chop out. That combo would be no better or worse than Grundy at this point in a ruck sense. Probably better as we would have ourselves a capable forward who can kick a goal or two most games. Grundy lucky to score one goal every other game. He isn't a part-time forward and not sure why the FD keep talking about trying to improve his game here. Very average player all round now post injury. Has minor moments where he looks reasonable but that's it. Ppl need to get over the fact that he's some sort of 'impact' player or will turn into one. His AA days are well behind him unfortunately. Didn't impress in his two matches at VFL level yet still got a call up. Very costly recall last night and poor selection given the conditions. Probably cost us the game imo.

If he can run out the game at Casey and pulls up fine, even at 80% fitness, he should be straight in for Grundy. Tomo in for JJ. Moniz or Woey would need to have a VG game but if so i'd bring one of them him in for Chandler who was horrid. Spargo also but again would need to play at a much higher standard vs recent weeks. Just so so at Casey.

The third tall option on a 2nd tall forward oppo (if there is one) who tends to play higher up the ground is available.... Tomo. Not the go to on bigger bodied forwards who tend to play deeper though. Smith is not the answer (in defence) and is too easily beaten to the drop or for some reason tends to start too far behind his opponent or ends up in no-mans-land. Forward only pls. Unless coming on as the sub and we need him to replace an injured defender as a last resort. Can't recall any other tallish forwards marking on a lead tonight and going back to slot the goal. And he was only there for a quarter and a few minutes late in the third yes? The obvious move tonight in the middle was Kozzy surely. We looked way too ploddy in the wet with a core group of Viney, Gus & Clarry. Played very few minutes through there vs some recent matches it seems. Felt he was just starting to find his mojo here. It's ok to experiment earlier through the year but Goodwin seems to want to tinker too much imv and also does so after it seems we are onto a good thing. Too late to do this now anyway. Should've settled on a base core set up / structure and roles for most players by now. If a player finds he"s hitting form playing a 70/30 small forward / mid role (not saying this was Kozzy's split either.... just for examples sake) then FCS just let him comtinue on. Knowing your role and that of others and how you / they play them over a long period of time, provided they do it well, is what helps turn a good team into a great one.

If the goal ump is uncertain but the ARC can't decide either way then why have a review system at all?? The ump should just be honest and say "i didn't have a clear view of the ball/contest to see exactly what happened... it may or may not have been a goal but i need to go to the Arc to determine the result here". The goal umps are effectively making a call even though they're still unsure. Almost as if they feel they'll look foolish if they don't call it one way or the other when the truth is sometimes humans just can't make a correct call at all.

At one stage Cripps was caught by 3 diff tacklers consecutively. He might have successfully shrugged the first. However, after then trying to shrug the next two, the 2nd & 3rd stuck and he dropped the ball, literally flopping it one hand and just releasing it as one arm was pinned. No free play on. He was caught red hot and 100% incorrect disposal but they just wouldn't ping him tonight. This sort of rubbish must make a player feel like he is untouchable. Had a VG game but too often gets a lovely helping hand to enhance things.
