  1. How the hell is that absolute garbage? Kerr, Embley, Cox, Glass are premiership winning, multiple AA awarded A grade players. Green and Davey are a significant step below that. Rivers is about 4 steps below that, and they are half of our leadership group. Moloney is good, but he is no Kerr, Jones is average and Grimes has 30 games to his name and a heap of injuries. The only thing that absolutely stinks here is your profound lack of comprehension and your complete panic stations attitude towards the club. If all you can see is black negativity stop supporting the club and GTFO. It's getting extremely tiresome reading your doom and gloom, with absolutely zero hard evidence and no credibility whatsoever.
  2. Why would a club offer a top ten pick for a player who struggles to get on the field? He is either a great player who is worthy of a top 10 pick, or he is too injury prone to take a risk on, which is it? Not that it matters, it's laughable to suggest that we'd even think about trading him.
  3. Cox- 209 games vs. Jamar 101 games Embley- 204 games vs. Sylvia 110 games Glass- 203 games vs. Frawley 68 games Kerr- 175 games vs. Moloney 116 games Lynch- 171 games vs. Martin 36 games Selwood- 140 games vs. McKenzie 23 games Priddis- 90 games vs. Gysberts 9 games Lecras, 82 games vs. Jurrah 25 games Kennedy- 74 games vs. Watts 26 games Robert Campbell is the third most experienced player on our list. LOL!
  4. Also the world will end. Seriously, get a grip!
  5. Because..... Grimes, Garland and Tapscott didn't play, and Frawley was busy trying to nullify Reiwoldt (a job I believe would have gone to Garland if he was fit). You make do with what you have, but let's be honest, Warnock and MacDonald weren't getting a game when everyone was fit, and Bartram played his role defensively without needing to take on the offensive responsibilities.
  6. Ummm how about because last year they were decimated by injures, and when you look at their team, they have plenty of established stars still running around. Kerr, Embley, Cox, Lynch, Glass all senior players with heaps of experience and physical development to match. Who are our top 5 players in terms of experience, how good are they, and how much leadership do they provide? At the end of the day the Eagles will never win a premiership with their current list. They will lose all the above 5 players in the next 2-4 seasons, and they will struggle to replace them.
  7. It's OK to have Bartram and even Warnock down back, if you have Tapscott, Grimes, Garland and Frawley doing the disposing. Do you see where we failed on Saturday?
  8. As my friend would say, he can duck his head for me any day. Seriously, Joel Selwood is amazing. I absolutely love watching him go about his footy. Gun!
  9. Bloody hell Josh Kennedy is good. We should totes try and trade him for Bate, Newton and Dunn
  10. 1- Joel Selwood 2- Trent Cotchin 3- Jonathan Brown
  11. Given we are going to get smashed anyway, I'd bring in Morton and give him the job on Judd, like we gave him the job on Goodes for a few years. Fewer tasks in football that require more defensive attention and guts. Could be just the thing to get Morton out of the funk he's been in.
  12. Jetta, Bennell and Maric have no currency and are still in the infancy of their careers. They won't net you a good player, and the pick you'll get for them is unlikely to bring you a better player. Rivers has a lot more value at Melbourne than externally. Won't go anywhere. Moloney is just an idiotic suggestion. He is so important to our midfield, he is one of our only leaders and he will make the lives of Scully, Gysberts, McKenzie and Trengove much easier. Fitzpatrick will get a lot of "who the hell is that" from opposition teams. Is currently worth less than Juice. Morton is the only player on that list with real currency and who would net us a good return, but IMO won't get us anything near the value of his development potential. I'd be very very careful and wouldn't dream of trading him for anything less than a top 10 pick or a really good developing KPF.
  13. There is no reason why it's good enough for talented guys like Tapscott and Grimes to do the hard yards down back, while also providing us with good run out of the defensive zone (which is one of the most important things to get right in the modern game), but it's not good enough for Sylvia. He is hard, he is an excellent overhead mark, and it wouldn't kill him to play slightly more defensively in the absence of Grimes, Tappy, Garland, Trengove and so forth. Sylvia slicing through half back and streaming down the corridor to deliver the ball will give opposition coaches plenty of nightmare. He isn't easy to man up on either, because you need someone who can nullify him in the air, but who has the agility and strength to go with him at ground level. And it sure beats the hell out of watching Davey squib contests down there!
  14. You'll be lucky to get pick 83 for those 5 combined.
  15. As soon as the kid didn't get up, I though 8 weeks suspension, and possible life ban. It was a good tackle and would have been a non event if it wasn't for the rubbish turf at the rubbish concrete wasteland that is Etihad. But given our luck right now, and the way the MRP loves to bend us over, I'd say 2 weeks. And I'd contest it on the grounds of the AFL allowing their players to play on such a hard surface. No duty of care there really
  16. Well he better go find some balls, because his position at the club is already looking very shakey. If we go into next week with the same backline he should be taken out into the middle of the ground to get flogged by supporters post-match. Warnock has been good, and he can take the resting ruckman, Rivers I see no real match up for, but he will probably get Walker. I want Frawley on Garlett and Bartram on Betts. McDonald is not needed, although I did enjoy him up forward in the first quarter before Tapscott ripped his hamstring. Perhaps he can do a defensive job on Yarran up forward. At least his brainfades won't be as costly in our attacking 50. The sixth place in the backline has to then go to Strauss or Blease or Nicholson or even Sylvia. Gotta mix it up, but get someone down there who can kick and won't get tagged out of the game by their opponent and their own fears of getting hurt. Pathetic. Losing Garland and Grimes has absolutely f'ed us up.
  17. This. Harvey my number 1 by an absolute mile. He is filth. Honorable mention to Campbell "I'm here just to beat you up" Brown, and Chad "I'm a tool and I love myself for it" Cornes.
  18. If he wants good kicks across half back he should suck it up and play Strauss, Blease, or Maric off half back. They will both lose several defensive contests, but so does Davey. With Grimes, Trengove and Tappy unavailable next week, something has got to give. I refuse having a backline of Bartram (can't kick to save himself), Warnock (can't make a good decision to save himself), Rivers (average), McDonald (thinks he's superman but isn't) and Davey (weak, soft, gives you no contest) each week for the rest of the season. Watching these guys try to get the ball out of the backline yesterday made me want to stab myself in both eyes.
  19. Good to see those who said I wasn't positive enough about Juice's one quarter of above mediocre performance not coming to his defense this week. I give him full credit for some of his chases and his forward pressure, his chase down on the wing was great, but he is just so ridiculously ordinary, prone to brain fades and lacks polish. Gawn will give us less forward pressure, but will at least give us a contest in the ruck, and let Carlton try to figure out who to man on a 208cm giant in the goal square. If Davey doesn't get his arse kicked back to Casey as he should, I suggest sticking him up forward next to Gawn to feed off the crumbs. As for Juice, back to Casey where he at least doesn't get out marked by some half hack in Gwilt in the damn goal square without giving a yelp. And people complain because Watts tries to neutralise marking contests he knows he isn't going to win. Pfffft!
  20. Rock bottom is being on the bottom of the ladder with an aging list of hacks and has beens. Refer Melbourne circa 2007.
  21. A team high 7 clearances again yesterday from Martin. A huge amount of respect for what he has done this season, and especially the last two weeks under enormous pressure as the only real ruckman in the side. I also think his use of the ball has gotten so so much better this season. It was cringe-worthy a few years ago, and now he doesn't often miss a target. If he can develop his contested marking skills, he'll be an absolute gun for us. I guess this is what happens when you have brains as a footballer, you adapt and learn very quickly!
  22. If Bailey is serious he has to drop him. Unacceptable performance today to top off a rubbish season.
