  1. Which makes no sense. Marvel isn't even really an 'outdoor' venue if the roof is closed.
  2. I assume the announcement will come at today's press conference. 0 cases and strong testing numbers today. If they allow the same number of spectators at Marvel as they do the MCG, you just know they have no common sense.
  3. Total trash. Another weekend down the drain of seeing my team play. Living in this state is getting really tiresome.
  4. 100% correct. Just as funerals can't be postponed, weddings can't be changed at the drop of a hat. For most people weddings are planned a year or more in advance. To make an announcement on a Wednesday is literally no help to couples due to get married 3 or 4 days later. It takes a lot longer than that for venues, vendors and guests to be organised. And lets not mention the fact that we as Victorians can go to New Zealand tomorrow, but Queensland won't let me in. What a total joke. A bunch of nervous nellies. I bet NSW doesn't go into lockdown and still manage to run their latest outbreak to ground without total panic, because their government is not run by a bunch of bed wetting losers.
  5. Oh FFS as if anything will change tomorrow. Just make a call. Such gutless leadership! I feel so sorry for people trying to get married. Fancy being at the mercy of an [censored] who thinks it's 'easy to push out a wedding', but allows 300 people to go to a religious ceremony!
  6. There is 0 evidence of outdoor transmission. So having 15% capacity at the MCG is actually a joke. The only reasonable explanation behind it would be to reduce the load on public transport crowding. Beyond that, it is actually just a silly number to pluck out of thin air.
  7. Yeah I get it completely. I just don’t get why they bang on about social distancing but they don’t distance people in seating areas. More bays open, less people using the same exists, toilets and bars too. I guess it’s a money thing for the AFL. Staffing of more bays for small crowds is not profitable.
  8. Let’s have 30,000 people at the footy and make them all sit in one single bay. Two to a seat if possible. Let’s not allow 50,000 people and spread them out so there is a 2 seat gap between each group or family attending together. Because #logic
  9. Yep I don’t remember the meaningless H&A season game we lost but gees I sure as [censored] remember smashing them at the G in a final. My favourite game of football ever.
  10. Ok so, we beat Essendon. Brisbane beat Geelong at the Gabba. West Coast beat Dogs at Optus. Normal programming resumes. Somehow us beating Essendon seems the least likely scenario ?
  11. Hahaha Geelong winning is never good. I was barracking for a draw. Watching Scott punch the air in the box. Vomit worthy.
  12. Terrible result. God I hate Geelong.
  13. And most importantly Geelong lose.
  14. A spring chicken in comparison to most of his teammates.
  15. Even tho I know it’s better for us if Geelong win, I cannot in good conscious bring myself to support Geelong. They are a pack of [censored].
  16. Oh look the day Essendon Carlton Richmond and Hawthorn have to go play there on a regular basis, is the day I’ll stop whinging about playing there. Geelong should either only play interstate clubs there, or all clubs there on an even rotation. Not interstate clubs plus poor old Melbourne.
  17. With the Vic government allowing only members into the game at Geelong tonight, I can see this trend continuing when footy is back in metro Melbourne. That makes home games at the G exceptionally important as it gives the club a chance to sell 2/3 game special memberships to enable more fans through the gates. We are one of the few clubs who could also still offer grand final guarantee memberships (thanks to low membership numbers), and with the side looking strong, this is a golden opportunity to get back some of the lost revenue from those games and hope to convert these late sign-on members into full members in 2022 and beyond.
  18. If/when we win a flag, and finally gain some leverage with the AFL, my one wish would be to never ever go down to that hole again. No big Victorian club, regardless of how poorly they are performing, has had to play down there. We shouldn't be any different! If we need to play an away game against Geelong, make it at Marvel.
  19. Agreed. We are not a bottom 4 side experimenting during a rebuild for goodness sake. A PREMIERSHIP is at stake. We won't make any structural changes to the side unless forced to due to injury. It is like for like changes only. Hence if Weideman is out, we either bring in one of the Browns, or revert back to a smaller mobile forwardline like we had in the first 6 rounds.
  20. You are more likely to watch Melbourne win a flag than to die from the vaccine... put that into context!
  21. To be fair there would be very few Dogs fans who live around that area. The 200 out of 7000 fans, is about the same ratio of Dogs fans who would have made it to that game had it been full capacity. It is very difficult to get tickets to games in Geelong, as the capacity of the stadium is about the same as Geelong's membership numbers. I wonder if the Dogs cheer squad would be allowed to attend, given they said you can only attend if you live in the region. Another absolutely idiotic rule to be honest. Fair enough if you have to be a member so you can be contact traced, but why can I go a religious gathering with 300 people in Geelong from Melbourne, but not an outdoor football match? These rules make absolutely no sense. About as idiotic as Sutton saying it's not that difficult to postpone a wedding, so hence the caps on numbers. Clearly never planned a wedding!
  22. 3 of those games are at the team's respective home grounds. While I completely appreciate our record against top 8 teams, the only side we beat on their home ground was the Dogs, and I wouldn't call Marvel a foreign ground. We lost to Adelaide in AO, so could very well lost to a much better team in Port there. Playing in Perth is always a very hard task, and I suspect West Coast will be close to full strength by then, and the less said about that dump in Geelong the better. These are very different propositions to playing a Cameron and Dangerfield-less Geelong at the G, Brisbane in Sydney, Sydney at the G and the Dogs at Marvel.
  23. Geelong in Geelong is under 20% chance of a win. The only way we win this is if Geelong is injured or sewn up a top 2/4 spot they’re happy with and so are resting the old legs.
  24. There is no resting of players after the bye, unless we get to round 22/23 and have a top 2 spot sewn up. Every single game matters now and we will not simply rest players unless they are actually injured and cannot play. If we don’t finish top 2 or at least in a top 4 spot that ensures we play our finals at the G, we are unlikely to win the flag this year.
