Pies setting up well.
-
Why this umpire again? Why? ?
-
Extremely nervous about this. Hope we are switched on and start well. Crush their hopes early.
-
TMac warming up. Good news. Uterus going strong.

We are surely the only supporter base in the country who on game day discuss what we are eating and drinking and it’s not VB and a servo pie, but smoked meat and aged whiskey and salad and cheese ?
-
Funnily enough the fact this is Buck’s last game makes me think our guys will take this match more seriously as they know the Pies will come out swinging. Maybe that works in our favor. We won’t be caught off guard like we did against Adelaide. To go into the bye 12-1 sets us up beautifully for a strong tilt at a top 2 finish and guaranteeing ourselves a run of MCG finals* *pending that biatch Covid

Completely agree. Besides we are at the beginning of our premiership window. If we recruit well we can stay in that window for 4-5 years or even longer. Like Geelong have. That means looking at the age profile and depth of all positions on the ground and recruiting for replacements based on most urgent needs. With Jetta all but gone and Hibbo pushing 32, Smith unlikely to make it and speculative kids in the VFL, we need to look for a ready made mid sized defender with speed.

Bagels, another coffee to do nothing for my rising anxiety about this match, and a pray to the uterus of Mrs McDonald to remain inactive for another 10-12 hours.

Agreed and good practice for our game against Geelong in round 22. It’s not our home game so I don’t care haha
-
We want West Coast to win this. Nobody needs Richmond in the top 4 come season end. Nobody.
-
To be fair, would you get out of bed to watch this enthralling duel? I can’t even be bothered finding the tv remote to turn on Kayo for this game.

Was always going to travel up unless his wife was in active labor. So unless Jon knows the schedule of Tom’s wife’s uterus, I think we will need to wait until tomorrow lunchtime.

The only supporter base that has suffered more than Melbourne, is St Kilda. 1 premiership in eleven thousand decades and 27 spoons. Oh dear.
-
I presume injured? Ratten said this week they had 25 fit players on the list so could just fill a team sheet. He was happy they could name 4 emergencies.
-
I hope that’s not the team’s attitude on Monday.
-
St Kilda topped up thinking they’re Geelong, when in fact unlike Geelong their core is mediocre and they have poor leadership and no finals experience. Poor choice.
-
Well I feel less bad about losing to Adelaide now. Still 9/10 bad.
-
Hard to blame the ground for this display from Adelaide. Putrid like their jumper.
-
How in the world did Adelaide beat us? They are trash.
-
Melksham will be the medical sub. Good change, and fingers crossed Tmac plays. It will be far harder to win without him.

Nathan Buckley Steps Down as Collingwood Coach
Jaded No More replied to roy11's topic in Melbourne Demons
Mitchell seems to be the talk in terms of assistant coaches next in line. Choko is on record saying he doesn’t want to be a senior coach again. Still think Pies will go for Lyon, although Carlton will also be chasing him as I doubt they’ll replace on rookie coach in Teague with another. Also wouldn’t put it past Carlton to keep Teague and put a strong team of assistants around him, like we did with Goodwin. -
Richmond are a massive threat even from 8th. Geelong on their sheer experience alone are a scary finals proposition. Brisbane can also do serious damage and are very well balanced all over the ground. I don’t rate the Dogs or Port because they are poor defensively and don’t know what to do when the game is not played on their terms. Both will make finals and both will probably win a few but they won’t make the grand final. Port especially if they don’t get a home final. West Coast and Sydney making up numbers. Richmond scare me more than anyone although I think our midfield and rucks are superior to both them and Geelong.
-
This was their first really hard game since they lost to Sydney. Port was ridiculously soft and poor defensively. Would they have won against us today? I don’t think so. Their midfield wasn’t great but it was so easy for them to dominate up forward because Port applied no pressure on the ball carrier and their backline fell apart.
-
Will they play the Dogs in Victoria next week with no crowds? Seems unlikely. That will help. The big question mark for me is how their old legs carry deep into a long season. Shorter games helped them last year. I also don’t think their rucks or midfield is as strong as ours.

Quoted for 1000% truth.
