  1. Was up and walking after the game, so that's really great news. Shades of Chris Lamb taking a fall in the goal square. Scary stuff!
  2. Travis Johnstone, Jeff White and Byron Pickett... 3 senior players who should hang their heads in shame. Pickett can't bloody run. FFS, he is an elite athlete with zero fitness. White was given a bath in the ruck by two newbies, and had no influence around the ground. As for TJ, if he stopped pointing and started doing the work himself, he might become the elite player that he's capable of being. On the bright side, Jones, Dunn, Sylvia, McLean, Newton and Bate just kept going and going and going. It won't always be this way...
  3. Pathetic first half, and as usual, we were chasing a lead. Gutsy effort to keep running until the end, given we had no rotation from half-time onwards, but if they weren't going to show anything for Neita, they had to stand up after Belly went down. Great second half, terrible first half. Story of our lives.
  4. Nice interview done by Gary Lyon in today's HS: http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/com...5E20322,00.html I found this question particularly interesting, seeing as we always talk about it: That's admirable, is there someone there to take over? (as captain) James McDonald has really stood up as a leader, I think he could do a really good job. He's 31. He's 31 but he's got a few years left in him and he's playing his best footy at the moment. Brock McLean can stand up and do that, he needs to keep playing good footy and get his body right. So there you have it, the great man himself has spoken. Also, Neita has mentioned this week that he grew into the role of captain, which is exactly what Brock will have to do when the time is right.
  5. Yep. I'm in the Southern Stand too. A bit of a change as I normally sit in the Olympic stand, where civilisation resides.
  6. Every Melbourne supporter should turn up tonight. No excuses. It's the least we can do to honour Neita! So should get around 65,000.
  7. I doubt very much that Bond and McKenna are out of the running. SEN talks a lot of s***.
  8. Neita wasn't actually on the Footy Show because he is professional enough not to do a TV interview the night before a big match. They still paid tribute to him though.
  9. Welcome to Demonland Ronald, Please use the search function before starting a new topic, as we've had numerous polls on this exact topic already. Cheers.
  10. Excellent news for David Neitz! I think McLean might be a doubtful starter, but overall that is not a bad team.
  11. Get a room you two! <_<
  12. Ha, Tasmania jokes never get old! :D Had Neita played in that final against Essendon in 2004 we would have won!
  13. It seems that Ratten is going to stay with Carlton, a real shame both for us and the rest of the competition (Carlton will actually win games next year! ). I'd say that Bond is currently the front runner, with McKenna, Riley and Connolly not far behind. I'm not so sure that Sheedy is going to be offered the coaching job, but he might be given a different role within the club (hopefully). From all reports, the announcement will be made after Round 22 in respect to all participants and Mark Riley himself. That doesn't mean that it'll take that long to make the decision. Although, if final presentations haven't been done yet, it might just take another month or so.
  14. Oh yeah, quote my post why don't you? I blame injuries for my zero strike rate!
  15. I'll get back to ya <_<
  16. A really nice video highlight: http://bigpondvideo.com/afl/40349 Watch out for Robbo taking a dig at Newton about his marking. Gold! :D
  17. I'm so sorry to hear that! My condolences go out to the Malthouse family. Losing a loved one is one of the hardest challenges we have to face in life.
  18. That's correct. We've got access to IP addresses, so it's not hard discovering people who post under aliases. We're coming up to probably the busiest time of the year in terms of online traffic. With the impending selection of a new coach, delisting, drafting and of course trade week, it's important everyone remembers to take a deep breath and count to 10 before unleashing their opinions. If everyone behaves, we'll get to enjoy some of our finer posters coming out of hiding during this time, especially during trade week (chilliboy is the highlight!)
  19. Couldn't have said it better myself Finks :D
  20. I'll see if maybe we can attach the link to the Code of Conduct thread. That cracked me up... especially the subtle "you dumbass" comment
  21. Indeed. At best, Ferguson can play on Josh Fraser. Ch.10 said that Didak will be back, and they will decide tomorrow if Buckley comes back through Williamstown or straight back into the seniors. I'd hate for that FIGJAM to steal the limelight away from Neita! <_<
  22. I put in the membership barcodes and it's still charging me outragous prices!
  23. From what I understand, Connolly has spent a good few weeks working on his presentation, which involves a historical look at Melbourne under Neale Daniher. However, he'll have to really blow them away to get the job IMHO.
  24. I was just looking for a ticket and they were charging me $18, and I'm a reserved-seat 17 game member! Hopefully if we get there early enough we'll get good seats.
  25. There are not a lot of words that can do justice to the service David Neitz has given to our football club. Through good times and bad (more bad it seems), Neita has always stood up as the inspirational captain that he is. He has carried our team, leading by example, always dignified, always humble. He is one player we could always rely on, whether it be to kick a winning goal, or deliver a crushing body blow to an opponent. His strength of character and mind have never failed him, even when his body and teammates have. Our club has seen 149 seasons, 12 premierships, countless number of players, but there has only been one David Neitz and there will never be another like him! I hope that all Melbourne supporters turn up in numbers this Friday night, to pay tribute to one of our greatest, and show him the support that he so richly deserves. If he never wins a premiership, lets make this an unforgettable night for our champion. Congratulations on 300 magnificent games!
