  1. You can still trade a contracted player, they just have to agree to terms at the other club too. I'd say Bate and Dunn are most definitely on the table.
  2. GWS Luke Power and He Who Must Not Be Named
  3. Just tweeted by Jon Ralph
  4. Agree - biggest ones for me are #9, #34 and #23.
  5. Yeah, but if Brad were to retire by 2014 then the #18 (Steven Stretch's number) becomes available.
  6. I have an idea. Depends on what happens with Brad Green over the next 2-3 years, but we could give it to Billy Stretch if Brad's still playing in 2014.
  7. I know Storm have scouting networks in the private school rugby system down in Melbourne - there was a SKevs guy who had already signed a Storm contract back when I finished school
  8. Viney O'Meara Gaff Nicho
  9. Hardball over further trades, nevertheless both compos + Warnock for the first pick would be worth it for O'Meara
  10. JT has shown far more heart, loyalty and passion for the MFC than $cully ever did
  11. I've been seething at work for the past hour, and now I'm at home. - 2 years. Thanks, AFL. Nice system you got there. - Jack Viney better run him over in 2013 after Jack Trengove delivers the perfect tackle on him next year. - Unless we get a #1 draft pick or O'Meara, we have been screwed. And I'm far more [censored] off about it now than I thought I would be. This club, this institution of the city, the second-oldest club of any footballing code in the world continues to be systematically screwed over. I'm sick of it as a supporter. I want success and yet the AFL continues to rob the poor to pay itself. The losers have not been the 'big' clubs of Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton, West Coast - instead they have been Melbourne, the Bulldogs, Adelaide (who are currently struggling financially due to the AFL partly) and Port.
  12. Was only eleven. Dad woke me up.
  13. I still think there's some hope of him staying. Yeah, call me naive, whatever. - First, I think his parents have more say in his life than his manager or any other mentor. That's why they're going - he wants them to get as much of an understanding as to what's up there as himself so that they're all fully informed. - Second, he (and his family) have put a lot into the club in a very short time. Things like the little touch on Fitz are fantastic. And finally, I get the feeling that he's aware of the weasel words and dodgy pressers of Sheedy and Gubby as the rest of us, which is why he's said nothing. He got on the front foot to say his piece early in the year. He did get caught out at the airport, but, well, [censored] happens, and he'd be negligent to not go to Sydney to see the offer.
  14. Ah, stuff it. Give both to GWS and get the Jaegerbomb.
  15. Hard to really reply properly since I'm on the train, anyway... - our key tagger IMO is Bail. He had some really good games before he went down. - We do obviously struggle at FF, but in recent history it has been notoriously hard to develop full forwards. With only three exceptions in recent times (Tippett, Dawes and J Brown) these players don't have an immediate impact, but rather take almost as long as a ruckman to have an impact. On that, let's teach Stef how to kick at goal.
  16. I said I'd say it if it happened and it has... Oh. God. Why.
  17. The issue is the line between opinion and news - quite often the former is reported as the latter, and that's where the issue continually lies now.
  18. might be a good idea Crompton, you sound tired
  19. Guys, an inside source just told me a heap of bulltish so I'm not going to bother wasting your time with it.
  20. Wow at the rage. This is worse than Christmas was as a kid!
  21. Nearly 30 pages in a week. Amazing...
  22. Foss asked the hard question at the start and pushed him regarding the coach issue. Garry looked [censored] off at him for bringing it up, then followed up with a 'hopefully an announcement next week'. JB asked if it could be Thursday and Garry didn't respond. So we may have a new coach by then...
  23. $7500 fine and 14 weeks David Bridie's thought (kindly retweeted by Supermercado) "DEAN WALLIS penalty in my book equates to one week for illegal betting and 13 weeks for punching Brad Green in throat in 2000 Grand Final"
  24. So to piece it together... - GWS have made their pitch - That said, they've made it through sideline options rather than open courting a la Judd and Carlton/Melbourne - There will probably be a decision by the end of the week based on SOS's comments - At the same time, MFC are still pitching - the $ offer as made previously, plus whatever is going on now with the club....something which hasn't had much said about it. I'm calling it a coinflip at this point.
