Dees open contract talks with Jayden Hunt
Dees_In_October replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Throw in a lifetime's supply of red and blue headbands. -
4-6? That's almost more than he's missed during his whole career!

You've got to love a player with skills but who is also so hard at it. In the past, too many of our players have been either one or the other. Most have a much better balance now, and Salem typifies this.

He really does set the standard for 'Run Like A Demon'. The lowering of the eyes when necessary and the more composed kick may come with time, but you just can't teach pace like that.
-
Might have to make a footpass supercut too!

Here are the Oliver gifs I've posted so far this year. I thought I had better quality on the St Kilda one somewhere but can't find it at the minute. I'm planning to make a handball supercut at the end of the season. Haven't got to Monday's game yet.

Time to show Oscar some respect!

Credit where it's due. It's no Leo Barry, but enjoyable nonetheless.- 312 replies

Harriet Cordner back in the Team
Dees_In_October replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in AFLW Melbourne Demons
Yes! I'm happy about this. Aside from the sentimental reasons, I agree that she showed potential and would have had her ahead of some others who were retained. -

Demons 2018 List (sans draftees)
Dees_In_October replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in AFLW Melbourne Demons
Was looking forward to seeing how the likes of Berry and Cordner might evolve, but them's the breaks. Hopefully Jakobsson can bring another dimension to our forward line. Go Dees! -
Tbh I'm just glad there's any kind of bandwagon for people to jump on. It's been a while.
-
Some might have to wait for financial reasons. Or haven't been in Melbourne til now? Or like you say are jumping on the bandwagon, pure and simple

Seems like we won't see much trade action this time round: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-05-17/squad-to-remain-relatively-settled-lee

The Cam Pedersen Appreciation Thread
Dees_In_October replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's true and it's noticeable when a team is playing well, that it feels like every player is involved in some way, not just the ones with the ball or in the immediate vicinity. It's the player making an unrewarded lead to the right place to create place, the player giving a shepherd, the player chasing without necessarily impacting the ball carrier, the bodywork off the ball to give the potential marker a better chance. I noticed in one passage of play on the weekend when Adelaide had a chain of marks just outside our forward fifty, three times in a row our players made it to the player marking, not quickly enough to spoil, but just in time to lay a little bump after the player disposed of it. The third kick was off-target and the ball turned over. It's those little things that add up, physically (make them earn every kick) and mentally (perceived pressure that eventually causes a fumble or turnover). Luckily we seem to have players willing to go those extra few steps more often, Pedersen included. -
I think it was around 10,000. Apparently 5,000 Port supporters travelled over.

He has some potential, I guess.

That's the Clayton Oliver way. I think I'll just stay up all night watching this!

I can't believe you underestimated us so badly, Abe. Well, by 6 points
