  1. Not sure about you, but personally I'd like a couple more wins on the board for this season.
  2. Couldn't see it mentioned but did anyone else see Jones hit a Port player (not sure who it was) in the upper body when they were both on the ground? Would have been about 3 minutes left and it was 20 metres out from our goals. Haven't seen anything about it but we'd be in big trouble if he and Vince both were to get weeks.
  3. Sam Blease is another case in point, though Riley's break was not as bad as either of them. Fitness is definitely his issue at the moment, IMO.
  4. Riley could prove to be an absolute bargain pick up, loving his work so far.
  5. I'd prefer three midfielders, just personally. A forward line with Hogan, Dawes and an on song Gawn would be a handful for any defence.
  6. And I don't mean to play the broken record but jeez, we were absolutely bent over by the umpires today, particularly in that last quarter. The amount of times a Port player was paid a free for some sort of indiscretion and then we were denied a free for the same thing moments later was laughable.
  7. I restrained myself from posting on here immediately after the game, as I would have said something stupid such was my anger. However, there were lots of positives today. - When Tyson can do what he did today, consistently, he'll be one of the premier midfielders of the competition. - Dawes was ineffective and has been for some time. You can put a lot of it down to poor delivery but I still rate him as an average player only, with exceptional aggression. - Our pressure in stages was fantastic, we just need to do it for longer. We lost this game ourselves today, in particular in the last few minutes. Grimes, Dawes' rubbish kick inside 50 straight to two Port players in our last forward drive and a bit earlier, Jones' decision to play on to advantage while surrounded by 3 Port players (he was subsequently tackled and the ball turned over), all bloody frustrated the hell out of me. Port are still a top side and we've improved drastically this year but it just hasn't converted into wins. 4 wins is still pathetic and nowhere near good enough.
  8. Wow, poor call by my self. That's interesting. After I posted that initial comment, I wondered whether the Dockers super defensive game plan could dig them into a hole when down by a reasonable margin.
  9. Freo are starting to find their groove though. I'd still be backing the dockers.
  10. I actually do apologise for the simpleton comment, it was uncalled for. I have seen you post similar comments to other posters though and your sometimes condescending tone really gets to me. Believe it or not, we share the same sentiment RE Malceski, as I said I just hope full caution is exercised.
  11. I sure will remain classy, Ethan. Just giving to you what you give to others .
  12. Excuse you Ethan, but where have I said that? What I am saying (I'll make it clear for you, simpleton) is that we should exercise caution when potentially recruiting a player of his age and with his injury history. I love the way he plays and I'd love him at Melbourne, if there are no concerns on his body.
  13. 2011 he had his third, knee reconstruction (LARS). He's been fine since but at 29, I'd want to be totally sure that he was 100% fit before signing him. At that age his body will only become more injury prone with each season.
  14. That he does, but you seem to be conveniently ignoring his injury concerns...
  15. Mitch, round 2 2012 vs WCE. http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_match_statistics?mid=5355
  16. Malceski is a great player, there's no doubt about that but this would be a massive risk for us to take. Left Field is right - he's too old to undergo further surgery if he blows his knee again, so if we were to consider picking him up I'd be hoping an extremely thorough medical examination would be on the cards, to ensure his knee hasn't begun to deteriorate again.
  17. You won't have to worry about that any time Ox. It's taken us a long time just to break the habit of deciding who we're going to take with pick one and then spend twice as long in hindsight discussing who we should have taken.
  18. Jeez Ethan, you're starting to sound like a hybrid of Ben Hur and Machsy. Perhaps a little less condescending though.
  19. If only the explorers of bygone eras had access to wikipedia, eh?
  20. I believe Morton was referred to by some as the next Adam Goodes, actually.
  21. To be fair it's a subjective topic as to how we perceive Roos' comments regarding Frawley. Lamashtu doesn't have to agree with you or I. Unless you are Goebbels and this is Germany circa 1943, which is how I sometimes think you act.
  22. Of course he'd have a big part in it - to be brutally honest, the only real attraction of a player coming to the MFC at this stage aside from money is being under the coaching of Paul Roos. But he's not going to come out on radio about how he's been heavily involved in chatting to Cameron. He'll say something along the lines of 'I'm not really aware of any contact' (which is what he said), which is basically diverting the question. We'd be crazy to be not pursuing any contact with Cameron.
  23. I believe that if you were an AFL supporter on the Gold Coast you'd feel a little differently about it, though I think you're right in thinking the principle drive behind the creation of the two clubs was expanding on revenue avenues, which requires more supporters and more area of influence.
  24. Jones is the only outstanding line breaker we have at the moment, too. He gets the ball and runs hard, takes the game on. There aren't many others who are doing this at the moment, hence our slow, stagnant ball movement.
