God, the Purple Headed Warrior would have an absolute field day if that happened. [censored].

Wouldn't Dangerfield resting in the forward line make our forward line, 'gun like'?
-
I'm with you cards. I'd prefer Dangerfield over Tex, though it is a close call.
-
If you've read my posts before, you'd know that my general contention on the standard of our list is hardly that of a 'blue sky junkie'. This wasn't about consistent output. I was saying that if it were to be Toumpas or Trengove with a pick for Dangerfield, I'd rather we sent Toumpas off to Adelaide rather than Jack. If the opportunity came up to trade Trengove for some consistent output, of course it should be entertained. I'm all for doing what it takes to further the list and climb the ladder, even if it meant trading someone like Nathan Jones.
-
That's true, but in the argument of trading either Toumpas or Trengove in some kind of deal with Adelaide, I'd be more inclined to hold on to Trengove because he has shown he can play. I'm hoping beyond all hope that his lacklustre last few seasons have been due to this injury and that when back to full health, he'll be a similar player to that of 2010/11. Saying 'trust in our leaders' is unnecessary. We have no option, only this forum to (as Nasher mentioned) discuss our various viewpoints. If you look at it pessimistically, all of this talk is pointless, but it can be fun.

Digging for gold - Targetting Under-achievers
Little Richard replied to jabberwocky's topic in Melbourne Demons
Zak Jones and Shiel? They hardly fit the category. Jones is playing his first season at a club renowned for making their youngsters work for a couple of years before giving them a game. Shiel plays every week, and plays well. -
2014 Player Review - # 25 Tom McDonald
Little Richard replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
True, but he is yet to master the skill of kicking a football. Once he can do this well and consistently, then he may take on the world. -
2014 Player Review - # 25 Tom McDonald
Little Richard replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
No world beater yet, but for a 22 year old key defender he's tracking bloody well to get to that level. -
I wouldn't be wanting to trade Trengove out unless it was for an absolute superstar like Dangerfield. I have a feeling that he'll come back from his injuries a far better player - hopefully the player we were all dreaming of after his first two seasons. I'd be more inclined to let Toumpas go but only if the price were right, as I still think he can be a good player for us.
-
The way I see it (not sure about GNF's mail on these details) is that our biggest rival in romancing Dangerfield would be St Kilda. Any team would love him, especially sides of our calibre and having pick 1 and a lot of money freed up makes them a viable option for Dangerfield/Adelaide.
-
You missed little - mostly a snowball effect of bullshyt rumours. But according to GNF we are chasing Dangerfield hard as expected.
-
Really? I seem to remember someone once saying that Cale Morton would be our Adam Goodes. That's tough to beat.
-
I would actually say more than ever. All this crap has made me more passionate about the club - some sort of weird 'Stockholm Syndrome' I suppose.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
Little Richard replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
A deal like that would really be fantastic, I agree. Petracca is the kind of player we have missed over the last few years (excluding Viney who was always coming to MFC) - formidable body, tough in and under and very competitive so I'd like to see us draft at least one of these guys this decade. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
Little Richard replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I haven't been following Petracca very closely until today, when I read a few articles and watched a bit of footage. Not a lot of research admittedly but I already get the feeling we need Petracca like we needed Ollie Wines a couple of years ago. I bloody hope we get it right this time and I bloody hope the Saints don't try and take him at one, which I think is now a very real possibility. -
Having Gwilt and Lamumba running off the back flanks will improve us, which is what we all want. That is virtually a fact, so it would be a yes from me.
-
I think Ben-Hur's unsavory obsession with Kate Upton was far more distracting. The pictures were great but he was a little... creepy. I think his misplaced sense of entitlement led him to believe he had a shot with her, being the 'premier poster' and all that.

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK
Little Richard replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
Was this wide spread or was it just suggested by someone on Demonland? I didn't hear anything about that. -
We've got the cash and the spot to fill, though I'd say Brisbane aren't exactly short of space in their cap either. He'll probably end up going north but it couldn't hurt to try - he's quality.
