And they received pick 47 back. Hopefully this will be on-traded to us for Warnock.
-
Freo have to go into damage control - they've come out of this looking pretty stupid. That quote is just so ambiguous. For example, are Pav, Sandilands even contracted for the next four years?
-
By the sounds of it - he can afford to bring them out. From the Fremantle website: Fremantle general manager of football operations Chris Bond said that the club was not in a position to match the second of two offers Melbourne had put to Clark, who has spent the past six seasons with Brisbane. “If we were to match Melbourne’s offer to Mitch it would make him the highest paid player at our club over the next four seasons and we are not prepared to compromise our list management model to achieve that outcome,” Bond said. http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7009/newsid/125148/default.aspx

But has the player agreed to the trade? If not, i guess its meaningless

In fairness Nasher, they may not have been his exact words (someone else may be able to claify), but he was clearly going down that path.

I only heard the first 20 minutes of his show, but they replayed a call on KBs show yesterday from a Dees supporter wanting to know why Denham hates Melbourne so much (Denham wasn't in the studio at the time of that call). Denham didn't say he hates us, but called us a mediocre club who stand for nothing, and that we are too focused on the past, and not enough on the future. After that i decided to switch to FM.

The rule doesn't come into effect until 2013 - so won't free up a spot for next year.
-
I'm dissapointed that we didn't get what we wanted (again). But i'll give the MFC recruiting team some credit. They go into negotiations clear in what they are willing to trade, and refuse to pay what they consider 'overs'.

A side of Jack Watts you may not have seen before...

Emma Quayle's tweet:

If true, I wonder if Collingwood will relieve him of his duties immediately like they did with Scott. I like the idea of our future coach extracting as much as he can from the Collingwood setup, as well as having a few whispers to a few quality players about joining him at the Dees
-
Also think Dermott deserves some praise for asking the question "Did your mum pick out a room for you", when Tom was talking up the GWS accomodations!
-
Ward did grow up next to Whitten oval, but was an Essendon supporter
-
You're right. We should throw in a fourth round pick as well

I interpreted Supermercado's comment differently. I thought he was implying that if Todd doesn't get the job, he may leave, and therefore we may lose Jack as well. The last two caretaker coaches for Melbourne (Hutchison and Riley) both left after unsuccesfully applying for the job.
-
I think you have a valid point, re: the comparison between Ablett / Geelong 2010, and Scully / Melbourne 2011. All last year we were told ad nauseum that the players weren't concerned by the constant speculation over Gaz Junior, yet Selwood listed it last night as one the of key reasons why they were below their best. Its hard to see the constant speculation not affecting our on-field performances. Don't see much similarities with with the Thompson / Bailey situations though.
-
I don't think he is so brave. He is injured and out for the rest of the season anyway.
-
Confirmed at the press conference that he has no intention of seeking the job permanently.
-
Its worth noting that Davis is out for the season with injury. I'm sure if he was still playing, he'd be less likely to come clean so soon.
-
According to Caro, he is safe for now. Schwab appears safe after Demons backflip From my perspective, Schwab has been doing a very good job. But i have no problems admitting, that there is much going on in the club, that i have no idea about.
-
That's my concern too. But a few of those other boys may not be around too much longer anyway. Does anyone know if Todd has matchday responsibilities this year? I know his role is primarily developmental. Does he even sit in the coaching box?
