  1. I'm in favour of two threads as long as it won't annoy non UF posters too much. Hopefully it will encourage everyone to be more active. I like UF banter, which was done well in JA's league last year, and it would be great if something similar could happen with our league. It would be my strong preference, however, not to call it under my username - but rather Ultimate Footy Demonland 2 - OR Ultimate Footy - Robbie Flower league. 2 spots left
  2. It is also 1 minute per pick. Similar to Jackattack, the league i was in last year had 5 minutes per pick in a non-live draft - and it took 8pm to midnight for two consecutive days, plus several picks during the day. One of our entrants insisted on taking about 4 minutes 58 for each of his picks!
  3. Only 4 spots left for Demonland 2 (Or the Demonland - Robbie Flower league as i like to think of it). Get in quick if you want to play. League ID: 175561 Password: demons Draft time is set to Sunday February 26 at 8pm. Enough time to see each team play once (well twice) in the NAB cup
  4. 7 spots left in Demonland 2 - thanks to all those that have joined so far. We can set up a discussion on the message board within the league as to the preferred time, so we don't clog up the thread here. Thanks Jackattack. I like the extra strategic element with the captains. In our league last season, most people had a Pendlebury / Swan type as captain - while others used it for their ruckman or goal kicking forward to try and win those categories. Sometimes in won them the round.
  5. Okay - have created Demonland league 2. All welcome. League ID: 175561 Password: demons Set to 14 teams - all standard settings (except i allowed captains). Draft date is tentatively set for Thurs 8th March at 8pm - but am happy to change this to a date/time that suits the majority.
  6. Any interest in another league - ideally where people are commited to participating throughout the whole season? I'm happy to set it up unless anyone else wants to.
  7. Yeah i cringed when i heard Ox ask that question. Hard to fill Francis Leach's shoes, but Mark Allen doesn't seem to know his footy very well. A few weeks ago, they interviewed Marcus Ashcroft (who is at Gold Coast) - and Mark congratulated them on getting Jordan "Lizzle", as a good get. Marcus correctly pointed out to him that Lisle actually was signed by Brisbane.
  8. I'm keen to join a league. Got hooked on this last year, and just can't look at SC and DT in the same way anymore.
  9. Thanks Ox and HT. Looks like he knows how to get the pill. Lets hope he makes the most of his limited chance to impress.
  10. Shannon Burnett from South Fremantle added to our permission to train list. Looks like a mid, from a quick google search. Anybody have any info on him?
  11. Permission to train:- Essendon - Anthony Long (Essendon) Fremantle - Zac Dawson (St Kilda) Gold Coast Suns - Aaron Hall (Hobart) Melbourne - Freddie Clutterbuck (East Perth), Carl Nicolson (Glenelg), Fletcher Roberts (Sand Dragons), Jai Sheahan (Geelong Falcons) North Melbourne - Marcus Darmody, Liam Hoy, Tate Oliver (North Ballarat), Lachlan Fairley (Western Jets), Brad Mangan, Will Martinello, Sean Tighe (Werribee) Port Adelaide - Ed Lower (North Melbourne) St Kilda - Jason Blake (St Kilda) Sydney Swans - Harry Cunningham (Turvey Park)
  12. Thanks Redman - definitely was a high appraisal. I've pasted some of his recent comments, courtesy of Extreme Black 'n' White:
  13. For those who value his opinion, the Wiz (Colin Wisbey) rated him as the number 1 delisted prospect out there (although he had high raps for him before he was drafted if my memory serves me correct). He is big, he has talent. Maybe a fresh start is just what he needs. Anyway - price is right.
  14. Was much better this year than last year, but went missing in the finals when it counted.
  15. What a joke. He's not even making sense anymore. Has a go at us for overpaying Mitch Clark, and in the same sentence has a go at us for only paying 92.5% of the cap.
  16. Not if we draft Cameron Bruce .....
  17. One main thing i don't like about the system is that the raiding team does not have to provide any form of compensation. So Carlton, with their bottomless salary cap, can offer Goddard a figure that Stkilda can't match, and they'll get him while keeping all of their other players, and draft picks.
  18. Agreed. Aussie has had a tough year, and I feel for him. But the reality of the situation, is if he is retained on the primary list, someone else will have to be delisted (eg. Joel Macdonald). I don’t think its fair to anyone, including Aussie, if he is retained purely because of compassionate circumstances. I think a delist, and a rookie contract (potentially on the same money) will be in everyone’s interest. I highly doubt anyone else will draft him without his blessing.
  19. We got pick 52 for Warnock, but you are right we do have picks 72 and 90. I just don't think we'll use them (unless we want to deslist more players)
  20. Picks 36, 52 and 54. With Scully and Warnock out, and Clark in, that leaves 2 players that need to go. Maric, Wonna and MacDonald remain uncontracted. I think the first two of these names will be delisted from the primary list.
  21. TradeWeekRadio Trade Week Radio Right now, it appears that Essendon and Melbourne are working hard at securing the services of Caddy, we'll keep you updated! #tradeweek
  22. Emma Quayle: Essendon and Gold Coast are in mediation at the moment over Caddy. Melbourne I think had made a pitch
  23. And they received pick 47 back. Hopefully this will be on-traded to us for Warnock.
  24. Freo have to go into damage control - they've come out of this looking pretty stupid. That quote is just so ambiguous. For example, are Pav, Sandilands even contracted for the next four years?
  25. By the sounds of it - he can afford to bring them out. From the Fremantle website: Fremantle general manager of football operations Chris Bond said that the club was not in a position to match the second of two offers Melbourne had put to Clark, who has spent the past six seasons with Brisbane. “If we were to match Melbourne’s offer to Mitch it would make him the highest paid player at our club over the next four seasons and we are not prepared to compromise our list management model to achieve that outcome,” Bond said. http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7009/newsid/125148/default.aspx
