How is it that you cannot cope with someone pointing out that you make terrible assessments on young players who have played a handful of games, who get the pill more times than anyone except our top 3 mids, who was by far not our worst todsy? I'm going to be honest and say that all of those non-true midfielders are not midfielders by and large because they are average AFL footballers and would struggle to cement a spot on any current top 8 side, certainly in their midfield. Most are either discards from other teams or have been rejected in trades by other teams

Somewhat fresh start for Dawes. Let's hope his 'old man' calves hold up. If he has a good show in the next run of games he might cement a spot. I look at the remainder of the year for him as being a test to prove his value to the team. Hard to carry passengers anymore, especially if they struggle to get on the park. Next year Weid will get more opportunities. Pedo is no world beater, but he gives everything and adds good versatility to team structures.

Pretty much spot on LH. Each week that Roos says selection mistakes were made he is taking the heat. It's happened about 3 or 4 weeks now. Frustrating for us, but there is method in his madness.

But honestly, will Dawes be of any use in the backline? He's been an underwhelming key forward, a major transition into a key back is a tough ask. Whilst he has a big body and can run hard, I do not believe disposal under pressure is a strength. And I won't even talk about marking. By all means sit him in the backline at Casey for 5-6 weeks and see what he can do, but not immediately in the seniors.

It's also true that we currently lack 3-4 established high quality players around the 24-27yo mark that have played at least 100 games. Prestia will be that in October. We already have a bunch of very good teenagers, need to balence that with some more mature talent. Unfortunately a couple of second round picks and a bunch of steak knife players will not seal the deal.
