  1. How about giving them pick 1, but they must trade it on. they could get a couple of very good, experienced players in.
  2. Thank christ for that. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
  3. Get a good coach, CEO and head recruiter/list manager. AFL to tip money into training and club facilities. Build a culture. All of these are a MUST before a PP. One player will make small difference. We did it, albeit with the help of the AFL. Having said that, our first pick this year will be around 25 (pending player trades), so if Essendon miss out on pick one and Brisbane get one and three, I for one will let out a hearty laugh!
  4. Gill speculating out loud what the AFL may offer Brisbane. Is it unreasonable for them to get a PP given we were knocked back a couple of years ago? http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/struggling-brisbane-lions-will-get-help-afl-ceo-gillon-mclachlan-20160809-gqo8mo.html
  5. Good points. Please post more often.
  6. Only if he shaves the beard and stops looking like Grizzly Adams. One bearded personality is enough in the team. #fearthebeard
  7. Agree dc. To cover their rrrses the AFL need to clear up grievance tribunal outcomes before the trade period. That is unless they permit their own rules to be broken and an agreement to be reached before trade week. Otherwise it will end up an AFL created logistical fk up. Messy, whichever way it's looked at.
  8. Fantastic Olympic hockey game between Germany and Canada today. The commentators had a few problems though...
  9. It's still unclear as to whether Hurley and Hibbert can leave Essendrug as FAs under the AFL grievance tribunal system. Ess and AFL will make it hard for this to happen, but if the players want out and have good lawyers, who knows!
  10. Agree, but they would know exactly what TMac is worth and are prepared to pay for him. Like me I'm sure you are confident with our list guys doing their jobs (wouldn't have said this 2005-2013!). The club will not let him walk to have a crack at Hurley. No way. However, if TMac chooses to go, I believe a relatively minor difference in contract amount would not be the reason. We tick all the right boxes for him to stay: good money, future success, culture and development, his brother and his best mates, long term club stability. I think his manager is pushing for as big a contract as possible and using the delay in signing as leverage.
  11. Don't you think they are working hard to try and get this done? Hopefully we can walk and chew gum at the same time.
  12. You've recently edited your op picket. Taken out all the vitriolic bagging of OMac that you wrote. Seems you've had a change of heart. Nice back pedalling buddy.
  13. KB reporting on SEN that Chappie has said that Hurley wants out of Essendon to chase success. KB tried to link WB to a possible move.
  14. And that fkg loss to Essendon
  15. I think yesterday put this debate to rest. #dawesmyths
  16. FMD imagine the wreckage if we win a flag in the next year or two! My liver will explode.
  17. Hogan and Weed: the future. Pedo is handy depth: keep. Dawes is Gawn.
  18. Add any number of Hawk players to that list. Hodge is ahead of Mitchell IMO.
  19. Two good games in a row. OMac is certainly putting his case forward. Classic Roos project player. Tracking better than his brother at this stage. Picket Fence is Demonland's answer to Benny Hill.
  20. I never said I'd prefer Dawes. Your words, not mine. I said "I suspect", as in I suspect the club may keep Dawes over Pedo. Mate, if you were unaware of my bias in preference of Pedo over Dawes then (with all due respect) you have been living under a rock. I hereby supply Stuie as my referee on the topic, we've disagreed for at least 12 months about this. #dawesmyths
