  1. Or maybe Mahoney/Taylor/TViney are trying to not give up a pick easily and trying to get the best deal done for the club
  2. Name calling is your specialty "precious". And where did I use the term 'hate'? Straw man arguement as usual. Look, if your opinion is that we give EFC what they want in order to get the deal done quickly, so be it. It may be the only deal we do this trading period. The rest of us are prepared to tough it out and see what the club can do.
  3. Honestly, why do you post on this forum? You obviously hold Demonlanders in contempt.
  4. It's called 'getting the best deal for the club'. Not everyone is happy to cave in to opposition demands quickly. It may be the only deal we do in trade week. Fortunately Mahoney, TViney and Taylor are doing what is best for the club. It may be this year's second rounder, maybe not, but explore all options first. He wants out to us, it's in our favour ATM.
  5. Do your research before posting Saty. The same player has said he's happy to stay at the bombers if the trade doesn't work out. The player will survive either way. It's the nature of the business. It's not about burning, it's about doing what's best for the club. Do you actually want that to happen or are you simply happy for us to give in to what Essendon wants because you've taken that stance?
  6. No. We take the option which best works for us. That's what all clubs do. It's the nature of the business.
  7. Spot on. Essendon have a player that wants out. We want him but have the pick in our keep and could otherwise use it well, especially given we don't have a first rounder. We might give it up..... or not. Who blinks first?
  8. Absolutely. Offer them what we want to give them and see what happens. Lol, now Saty is Melbourne's trade negotiating 'expert'!
  9. Fyffe is one FA next year.
  10. Has been a depth player not often required this year due to the overall good health of our list.
  11. Thankfully it's not us leaking good players to other clubs this year. Another step up next season and we might just attract a couple of real good ones in 12 months. Who are the OOCs and FAs next year worth having a crack at?
  12. Both Silvia and Vickery were major under performers for their first clubs. Both had/have potential, but both the comp picks were well overs IMO.
  13. I'm guessing Ess are waiting to see where out 2nd rounder ends up before the argy bargy begins over Hibberd. it could end up being in the low 30s.
  14. 26 for the Vicker. Remind me what we got for Silvia again?
  15. 32 yo gets 3 years for $2 mill? FMD. The world has gone crazy. Bucks should get some tips from The Donald.
  16. Compared by some to having NicNat traits. Has had a bad run with injuries. High leap, tried out for soccer with Glasgow Rangers. Potential late pick or rookie to develop as a ruck. Anyone know much about him? High-leaping ruck prospect Tony Olango gives soccer the boot
  17. Suns and Giants trying to wrap up the top cluster of picks (except pick 1) in order to not have to use them to get their academy players. They trade 2 x first round picks to get picks 2, 3, maybe 5 and 6, and then use later picks for academy points. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/afl-trades-2016-giants-suns-look-to-beat-early-bids-for-academy-stars-20161009-gry6fo.html
  18. Sometimes big bodied, confident kids dominate at junior level but get found out when they play amongst men in the AFL. I wonder where this kid might go in the draft and if he can take it to the next level. He's 193cm and 92kg already. Anyone got more detail about him?
  19. Perverse, most certainly pineapple
  20. Excellent article and a great kid. He would be an inspiration and an asset at any club and I hope it's at the Dees.
  21. With over 12 mths off without an AFL game, it's somewhat speculative as to how Milkshake and Hibberd (and the other banned players, for that matter) will pull up next year. I think with each of the EFC banned players it will be a case of wait and see. They've been through the ringer and are forever labelled drug cheats. Watching the interview with Hurley made me consider the toll this has taken on the players. I'm not sympathising with what they have done - they are drug cheats -moreso lowering my expectation of what they might become.
  22. Steady up there pinky! A folk legend perhaps!
  23. I appreciate snd applaud your enthusiasm, but "insanely even going into next year" is a huge stretch. IMO it's reasonably even for about the top 5 (Syd, Haw, Geel, GWS and WB not in that order), undefined for the next 6-8 and no real surprises for the bottom 12-18. We sit somewhere near the centre of the middle band. There will possibly be one or two that climb or slide beyond expectation, but it's still an uneven and stacked 'competition'. This year's win by the Bulldogs might be better described as an insane irregularity, however it certainly gives us Demon supporters some hope.
  24. I'm guessing he's been paid out as the club has delisted him. He is now a DFA and can go anywhere of his choice that will take him. I don't think he can be part of a trade anymore.
  25. *Much chaffened, you mean dc?
