  1. A lot of high scores in that era. 150 points wasn't uncommon. There were a couple of 200+ too
  2. According to Wikipedia the round 2 scores were Melb 24.23 (167) to Fitz 23.19 (157)
  3. Sounds very Neeldian. Those R1 and R2 scores are crazy. Imagine him coaching now!
  4. It was a serious question. I'll take it the answer is no. You are all over every busy thread 24/7, so its hard not to post after you somewhere. You could also ignore if it upsets you.
  5. So you've spoken with Goodes to know exactly the context he was intending? Or is it just 'your opinion' again...
  6. Not sure that post will last long, Uncle
  7. You must have one hell of a memory Dazzle. First, remembering deeluded's ban 28 months ago, now this. Remind me to never get on your bad side mate!
  8. I've sat behind her and a bunch of the other MFC AFLW players at the G for a men's game last year. Seemed to cheer pretty hard for us. They moved during the 3rd quarter. I was with @Bitter but optimistic and he was a drunken disgrace trying to get Daisy Pearce's autograph. I moved too.
  9. FMD, this thread is [censored], was [censored] early on and has been continually [censored] throughout
  10. Perhaps. But on social media there are a couple of people who claimed to be near the incident saying he definitely used the word [censored], rhymes with boof. The guy seems like a bit of an attention seeking idiot. Who the f knows who's right?? I agree that the AFL under Gil have lost direction. I think the AFL for years have let umpire abuse become increasingly acceptable. I know a teenage girl who umpires in a local boys comp. She told me not a week goes by where she doesn't get verbally abused by spectators, sometime right in front of her face. I think she'll give it up. The AFL has part time umpires, rules change every year, decision making is getting worse in a game where adjudication is near impossible, cameras and technology are letting the umpires down. And I'm guessing they are the lowest paid prominent employees in the AFL. What other professional sport in the world requires umpires to have a ball skill (centre bounce)? It's a difficult, unloved gig. Who'd want to rise through the ranks to become a senior AFL umpire? It will take a long time, but the AFL needs to create an environment where umpires are not the butt of every spectators anger. How they do this i dont know. Gil and his mob are paid handsomely to show leadership and develop the game. They should be capable of doing this. And having an umpires appreciation round is just pathetic lip service.
  11. You seriously think that's what the FD thought and said to him? You're a harsh critic sometimes Dazzle. Maybe they just replaced him with another player that is deemed better. After all, they have both May and Lever to choose from this week. More likely, I'd say Goodwin took him aside and suggested he go back to Casey, work on his game and confidence and push for re-selection over the next month.
  12. And there it is, Godwin's law
  13. I posted this pic in a January training report. Tennis balls are used in training auskick footballers to have careful ball drop (not what you might think, Uncle...). If it lands 5mm from the sweet spot on the foot it will go sideways. It's an approach also used in training teens and adults. Whilst most agree kicking techniques are established by about 15, they can still improve at professional level, otherwise they wouldn't do it at training. Iirc, his ball drop was low and careful with the tennis ball. Go figure!
  14. Junction Oval was top 3 apparently
  15. "This comment doesn’t instil confidence to be frank. It may sound harsh but this is a brutal game which doesn’t care much for sensitive souls... Success is not going to ‘just happen’ for him as we can plainly see." So I guess calling him a "sensitive soul" was a compliment then. I've not read one positive comment about Weid from you on this thread. That's called pedalling a negative narrative. This obsession with trading for a key forward and bagging our current ones is repetitive and tiresome. Repeating something over and over doesn't make it "perfectly valid".
