  1. And that's the problem: forwards getting sucked into the contest. If you watch the replay, and especially the down-the-ground footage, you will see many times GWS backmen standing around the 50-meter mark all alone. The more players you have around the ball, the less run you will have into the forward line as you have to wait for players to get back.
  2. They missed Turner, who should play as a lead-up forward rather than a stagnant forward; JVR should have filled that role.
  3. That was still playing 21 football.
  4. Memo don't play fritta when it's raining you can not play football when you have your hands on top of your head to stop getting your hair wet.
  5. Well that was better than expected showed some good signs and some things that still need to be ironed out too slow with the movement of the ball out of the backline, forward line needs some more work but they will work on that as I have said before give it another 4-5 games to see where we are.
  6. How true not and makes some ridiculous decisions.
  7. That's the one...
  8. Come on it's raining and frittas not a big fan of the wet, maybe he should play with an umbrella hat?
  9. As I have said before, I don't read too much into things. For the first 5-6 games, the younger sides go hell for leather, and the other sides are trying to adjust to different game plans and changes personally. However, I will say this: from what I have seen, the first side that works out that you don’t have to handball every time you get it to players in a worse position is staggering and will be far better off for it.
  10. And cox, de Konig doing the same thing to max
  11. Has the war finished and back in the fold.
  12. It's not his call; he has a contract until the end of 2027, and that's the end of the story. We can hold it against him if the club wants to or make a deal; so be it. It's their call. As for saying to respect the club and supporters, stop being a drama queen. But then again...
  13. News flash it's not his call end of story Jesus the season has just started and people are worried about this [censored] sometimes this forum reads like the the Truth (those that know know).
  14. Well, I'm going to do what I have done for the last 40 years: pay no attention to expectations until after round 6. Then you can get guage on how they will go, so settle down, put the razor blades down, and wait.
  15. Oxygen must light up there with Max. It only took an hour to pass it, then over-kick it.
  16. Well, there goes the religious supporters...
  17. About damm time I say..
  18. Jesus, the season hasn't started, and there are still conversations around Kossie. He's on a contract for another 3 years; if he wants to go home, so be it. Get the best deal and move on. That's today's football; no use worrying about it now.
  19. And Jeffo has done what exactly?
  20. Gee I remember when they said that about Greg Williams and he went alright.
  21. Well, this match was just below dancing with your sister, and with many players out, it was good to see some of the younger players have a go. So really, it was just a hit-out for them. There was some great movement of the ball, but their handball decision making left a lot to be desired. Too many players were handballing to players standing still, at the feet, and taking the wrong option or one too many. But hopefully, that will be worked out, I hope.
  22. Now that's a hard one will have to sleep on that....
  23. Why are people so concerned about a small forward? We have plenty; I'd be more interested in someone who can play midfield and could move forward in a pinch running midfield will be the key to this year if, by all accounts, there is a change to how the ball is delivered into the forward line.
  24. One hour ago, Sir Why You Little said: Yes, it is basically entertainment. But for the club, it is a multi-million dollar business. Managing the number one asset would be a tough job, as every player has a different background. Of course, it's a business for them, but the fact is, if the club folded tomorrow, it would not impact the day-to-day supporters of the club probably emotionally for some, but not financially. And yes, I agree, looking after players' different personalities, as shown last year, would be a headache.
