First Final
Loser standing small ... As it happens, I'll be in Sydney the weekend of the first finals. Needless to say, if the Demons are playing there, I'll be there (+ 3 offspring... all Demons' supporters).

Shades of '87, albeit 31 years on
I was standing in the outer of the Western Oval that day. Everyone was listening to the Hawthorn/Geelong match on trannies*. At one stage, it was either when Dunstall kicked his second goal in 2 minutes or when the siren at that match blew (can't remember which), the cheer at the Western Oval was so loud that that players stopped thinking the siren must have blown. There is also folklore that complete strangers hugged each other at the ground. It's not folklore ... quite true. The feeling now is quite different to 1987. *Transistor radios, not transexuals ...

Round 23 Non MFC Games
On Talking Footy tonight, Darcy referred to Ross Lyon as a "quality person". I didn't know that TF had become a comedy show.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 22
Hmm, I think we're all speculating as to what that was all about.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 22
I actually turned off the tv when WC hit the lead. Couldn't bear to watch such misery again. A friend then sent me a text message saying melbourne had regained the lead, so i turned the tv back on. Glad I did!!

And the free kick that should have been paid against Tyson just before half time. (lol)

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 22
Hey, I'll bet it was going right off at the Sporting Globe. Wish I had gone there to watch the match.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 22
As it happens, I'll be in Sydney for the first week of the finals with my 3 kids (all Demons supporters). Hmm, I had booked to have dinner at Icebergs at Bondi on Saturday night. If Demons play in Sydney that night, looks like I'll have to cancel that booking. I've been a Demons supporter since 1968. Very pleased. However, nothing compares to the feeling at the final H+A match at the Western Oval in 1987. (I was there.) GO DEES !!!

The song that describes how I'm feeling - Round 22
- Round 23 Excitement
2017 ... missed the finals with 12 wins. 2018 ... currently on 12 wins. If we lose the last 2 matches, same outcome. If we miss out again, has this been an improved performance? Or the same, or worse? Higher percentage, yes. Beating the teams we should beat? Yes, for the most part. However, not pulling off any great wins (unlike last year - WC/Perth, Crows/Adelaide) is a massive difference. I know we beat Crows in Adelaide this year, but they werent flying like Crows last year. So, my view is that if the team loses both games, it has gone backwards- I barracked for Collingwood today.
I did too. And I feel ashamed- MFC has created generational negative supporters
I've been a supporter since 1968. (And member for many years.) I can't imagine that the Club is attracting any/many kids to be Demons supporters other than offspring of existing supporters.- Round 22 Non MFC Games
And Norf not to win both their remaining matches?- Round 22 Non MFC Games
I think you mean lucked in.- Robbie's Goal of the Century
I loved Robbie ... My son was a friend of one of his daughters. He met Robbie, went to his house. I'm so jealous. RIP great man.- What is the point?
No. My parents had zero interest in football. As a little kid, I had a beanie with the colours red and blue. (Not actually a Demons beanie.) I was asked whether i followed the Demons. The simplest response was to say yes. - Round 23 Excitement
