2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
ben russell replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Paywall. -
So the nine are Trac, Viney, Oliver, Lever, Baker, ANB, Spargo, Jordan and ???
-
The tweet has been deleted.

Yep, also surprised the Egg was dropped. Guess there was no room for him with Short, Houli, Vlastuin, Baker and even Stack when he’s not tucking into kebabs. He’s my favourite delisted free agent so far.
-
30 years old at the start of next season. Reckon you’d want to be taking a fairly special player at 30 years of age, which he is not.
-
Arguably. Wouldn’t surprise me if he brings home Charlie in 2021.
-
And by on the hook they mean they reckon Collingwood would be interested in arguably the best player in the AFL as would every other team. I am confident that Melbourne have Petracca on the hook and by on the hook I mean he will sign a multi-year deal with the Dees prior to the free agency period.

Knightmare responded to a poster on BF who asked about some others that the Dees might be looking at with their first 3 picks. He listed the following; Zavier Maher (184cm) - Inside Mid Bailey Laurie (if available) (178cm) - Small forward Jake Bowey (174cm) - Outside mid Corey Durdin (173cm) - Small forward Fraser Rosman (193cm) - Tall forward
-
We couldn’t get Tom Phillips across but I wonder whether we would be interested in his brother Ed who has just been delisted by St Kilda. Have only seen glimpses of him but has looked okay at times. Maybe a rookie spot? Start him of at Casey on a wing and see if he’s good enough?

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

Hmm, an inside mid (Berry) with our first pick? Doubtful. Winder makes sense from the descriptions I’ve read at our next pick. Wouldn’t have thought we would be going for a tall forward (Allison) with pick 28 either. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
ben russell replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
Disagree that it will be half/half. I think a much higher percentage of people who actually have a clue will be rapt with the acquisition. -
Witherden has had 4 out 57 games with 20+ disposals at 90%+ efficiency so I would hardly call that regularly. Plus he had no interest in playing in Victoria.

Who Will We Dislodge from the 2020 Final Eight?
ben russell replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
Collingwood easily. The other 7 teams will be difficult to dislodge. I would expect that even neutral supporters would think that Melbourne are the most likely team outside of the 8 to find their way in. -
So essentially when you cancel out the similar or non-relevant picks that have been traded in or out, we’ve ended up with; IN: B Brown, Pick 18, Pick 19 OUT: Preuss, Hannan, 2021 first round pick Sounds pretty damn good to me.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

That highlight reel on the club’s website is unreal. I’ve seen Benny play on many occasions but I didn’t realise how crafty he can be around the goals. As the man himself said in his first interview with us, he is not one dimensional. While taking marks on the lead is one of his main strengths, he is also dangerous at ground level and has an inane goal sense. If he can get back to his brilliant best, which I can’t see any reason why he can’t, then we have got ourselves a genuine star here. Can’t wait to see him don the red and blue in 2021. -
I’ve read it a few times now and think I’m more confused than when I read it the first time.
-
Gone. Will be delisted if he doesn’t get traded.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

Expecting a full Victoria Police investigation into this daylight robbery. Effectively we get Ben Brown for Preuss. What an absolute bargain. Kudos to Mahoney and co. -
If true and involving this years draft only then pick 33 and pick 69 for Brown and pick 81 would be ideal.

Wonder whether that Higgins pick could be used as part of the Brown trade. Perhaps something like our pick 26 and pick 33 for Brown and pick 30. Would then give us a couple of picks in a row with 30 and 31. -
Nah, AFL website reporting that they haven’t come to a deal yet but are confident a deal will get done. Saad will be a Blue in 2021.

Right, so it sounds as though we’re comfortable with pick 31 and 33 for Brown but the Roos want our pick 26 which we are keen to hold on to. Hopefully 31 and 33 get it done. If we end up giving pick 26 then you would really hope that the other pick is later on in the draft. Say, 26 and 43. Hopefully we don’t cave and give up 26 plus one of 31 or 33. -
7 disposals, 1 behind and 3 frees against for a SuperCoach score of minus 2. ?
-
He’s not a small forward though at 187cm. He’s terrible and would be behind B Brown, Weid, Jackson, Fritsch, M Brown and T Mac if he stays. Massive no.
