  1. So that makes 35 on the senior list so it’s 3, 4 or 5 spots to fill depending on whether we want 38, 39 or 40 on the senior list.
  2. Pick 6 will become pick 7 when GWS swoop on Green though.
  3. He was very good for the Tigers in 2017 when he won a flag with them. His pressure and tackling in the forward 50 was elite. Walk up start as a small forward in our best 22 imo so it’s a yes from me.
  4. No confirmation that Collingwood have upped their offer to three years.
  5. Well if Tom ‘even a broken clock is right twice a day’ Browne says we’re out of the race it must be so....... Haha spare me! All we know is that both the Dees and Lions have offered him 3 years and the Pies have offered him 2. Just because he was at the Lions most recently doesn’t mean that’s where he’s going to end up. Both Fagan and Noble have simply said they have put forward the offer to Elliot, just as Melbourne have.
  6. Tomlinson played just 56% of the game on the weekend. Difficult to have an impact with such low time on ground.
  7. Sparrow one would assume. Damn birds, it gets confusing for some.
  8. OUT: Spargo, J Wagner, Stretch IN: Lockhart, Lewis, Jetta
  9. He's a Kangaroo after being picked up in the rookie draft.
  10. Okay. Pardon my ignorance but what would be the club's reasoning for having one less player on the senior list and one extra on the rookie list?
  11. Just double checked and yes, after the draft we have 39 players on our senior list including Maynard so we can select one more player. Also have 3 players on the rookie list - Keilty, T Smith and C Wagner. So one spot there too.
  12. I had already factored him in for a spot on the main list before the draft at which time we still had 6 spots available. We ended up taking 5 players in the draft so I believe that still leaves one spot on the main list. I could be wrong.
  13. One spot left on the primary list and one spot left on the rookie list I believe.
  14. Good point, had it in my head that Blakey was a mid like his old man. Yes, they likely take a mid then so hopefully not the one we are targetting.
  15. So the Eagles, Crows and Swans have a pick before us. Eagles are very likely to pick Hill. SA’s Valente looks to be the best mid available but watch Adelaide pick him before us. Sydney are likely to pick a forward so I’m expecting them to pick Taylor or Williams. Jason Taylor has hinted we will be targeting mids so unless we go leftfield we will likely pick two out of Foley, Stack, Kennerley, Hamill, Bytel Turner or McKenzie with our first two picks. Of the above mentioned players, Stack, Kennerley, Hamill, Turner and McKenzie can play outside so would expect we pick at least one of them.
  16. In summary, of the top 30 rated draftees according to Twomey, he believes Melbourne would be most likely to land one of Stocker, Sturt or McHenry with our pick 23. Of course we may end up taking somebody who Twomey doesn't have in his top 30. He ranks Stocker at 19, Sturt at 21 and McHenry at 23.
  17. Bloody hell, they're making us earn a top 4 finish with doubles against the Eagles, Pies and Tigers.. On our day we can beat anybody so let's hope the boys rise to the challenge.
  18. Yeah if another club doesn't snap him up as a delisted free agent first.
  19. Yes. Looked a cut above the rest in the VFL in 2017 but his 2018 was ruined due to a serious hip injury.
  20. MELBOURNE midfielder Corey Maynard has been elevated to the Club’s senior list after two seasons as a rookie. While a hip complaint limited Maynard to one game in 2018, GM of football operations Josh Mahoney said the Club was pleased with the development of the former basketballer. “Corey deserves his upgrade to our senior list. Although he had an injury interrupted season, Corey displays all the characteristics that we want in a Melbourne player,” Mahoney said. “We’re really happy with the way that Corey has been developing, to play in round one this season was a reward for the pre-season which he had. “The injury this year hampered that development, but we think that his attitude and competitiveness, that he will get back on track and we see a lot of development left in Corey. “He’s been in rehab since his hip operations midway through the year, he’s recovering really well. “With this change to our list, it provides us the opportunity to have a rookie list position available as we get towards this year’s national draft.” Maynard has played two games for Melbourne since crossing codes to footy as a Category B selection in the 2017 Rookie Draft. He previously played basketball in the NBL for the Cairns Taipans and Townsville Crocodiles, as well as with US college team, Bryant University. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2018-10-26/maynard-elevated-to-senior-list
