  1. He won't win it for this one...probably not even the best mark of the week. I think his one from last week is by far the best mark this year, so far.
  2. Based on what I saw during the NAB Cup, I would've have Kent in my round one side. He was a bit stiff, but I'm sure he'll get a chance soon. He looks to me like he could be a very good player for us.
  3. It's amazing that last week people were saying that we'd be lucky to win a game for the season, and now there's people saying we're a chance to go 4-6 in our first 10 and sneak into the 8 by season's end. I'm happy that we won, but I gained little confidence from that match. If we beat Brisbane my tune will become more optimistic, but for now, we're the worst non-expansion team in the AFL.
  4. Too bad he only ever plays well against bottom 4 teams. All credit to him today, but I want to see him stand up next week, the week after, and the week after that. He has all the tools, and it's games like today that frustrate me because we got to see how good he is when he wants to be.
  5. It's feeding time for Phil in Blacktown. You know who better get on the next plane back or there will be hell to pay.
  6. 6- Michael Evans-- he worked hard all day and stood up when we needed it 5- Nathan Jones-- do I need to explain? 4- Jeremy Howe-- huge last quarter from Howey, including a few clutch goals 3- Jack Grimes-- just a typical match from the skipper. 2- Max Gawn-- it's great to have him back in the team, he played very well. 1- Shannon Byrnes-- very good match today... was one of the few who worked hard throughout quarters 2 & 3. Was robbed of his fourth goal. Honourable mentions: Sylvia, Frawley, Terlich, Trengove
  7. The TEAM has to take that form to Brisbane. That last quarter was the first time in a long time that I've seen everyone wearing the red and blue put in a solid effort.
  8. While I do agree that I'd like to see us have a harder edge, I don't like plays like that. A good, clean bump is fine, but Jetta left his feet and made contact with the head after the ball had left Whitfield's boot.
  9. What are the bets on how long he'll be rubbed out for? I liked some of the things he did today, but it was a pretty dirty bump which I think warrants at least a 2 week suspension.
  10. Terrible first 3 quarters, but I loved seeing the heart in the last quarter... it shows what we're capable of.
  11. I hope the players enjoyed Neeld's last address...
  12. Based on the first three weeks of the season, 90% of the players on our list don't have the smarts to play AFL.
  13. It depends how the rest of the team's backline plays tomorrow. If they play like they have so far, he'll be selected next week. If they turn up and decide to try, Strauss might need to put in another good performance for Casey next week.
  14. You can take the recruiter out of Collingwood, but you can't take the Collingwood out of the recruiter.
  15. You can see at 1:16 that there is absolutely nothing wrong with that handball.
  16. I believe we were favourites in round 1. Odds mean very little. GWS will know they are chance to win this one, and will play their hearts out. I think it will be a very close and exciting contest, but definitely not a good game of footy.
  17. He can only be elevated in the event of a long term injury, or mid-season. I think it is pointless giving Watts a game if you're going to drop him to Casey the next week, even if he plays well. What would that accomplish? In my opinion, if he hasn't earned a game, he plays for Casey. End of story. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised to see him play this week... but I definitely wouldn't agree with the decision, regardless of how well he plays, it's the principle!
  18. While you raise some good points, think about the message it sends to the rest of the team. Watts is one of my favourite players (I have #4 on my jumper), but he has not performed well at all this season. If Neeld drops him and he doesn't even play for Casey, what are guys like Strauss & Kent supposed to think, when they've been trying their hearts out and performing well?
  19. What has he done to earn his place since he was dropped? Given, it's not his fault that he was held back last week and unable to play for the Scorpions, but he needs to PROVE that he wants to be wearing the MFC colours on game day. Once he performs at Casey, he can have his spot back.
  20. I've backed Neeld through all of this, but if Jamar is playing this weekend I think my opinion might change.
  21. No thank you. If we're getting rid of Neeld, I want a coach that has premiership credentials. Ratten had a list that many people considered to be top 4 quality, and he failed to make the finals with them in 2012. I'm on Team Neeld until we have a suitable candidate to replace him.
