  1. Yes.. that's exactly what Roos would tell him - we don't want you. Happy to listen to the debates about his efforts over the year and what his actual worth is. But Roos telling him that we don't want him - now we are getting into the realms of fairy tales. I suspect if Frawley was unhappy about his exit interview, Roos the professional would have discussed his gulf this year between being effective and being half hearted in his approach especially at the tail end of the year. I amused by posters suggesting that club will be glad to have him gone because of his weak efforts. This is the same club that voted him 8th in the best and fairest putting him ahead Jetta, Viney, Watts, Grimes, Dawes and Pederson. I too saw him plod for the last third of season - was he alone in doing this ? Was he the sole contributor to losing the last 10 ? He will go and we will pick up a first band draft pick ( hopefully) and we move on. We will move on to next years free agent who delays talks (bookmark it) and becomes the biggest spud to ever play for our club and we are better off seeing the back of him.
  2. please stop.
  3. I do laugh when I read this. Better check your history - two contracts ago he delayed talks until late in the season and was being heavily courted by Essendon and was much discussed on here. edit: bossdog - rest easy - If my memory serves me right Jonesy was called names at the time too
  4. The day of the dirty footballer is dead and buried - everything gets picked up on camera now Fyfe dirty ...seriously...
  5. of course there is a difference. The difference is that all clubs have informal talks with players and managers before the official trade period open and only have official talks once the trade period is open. It is a nonsense any which way you look at it. Negotiations and in many cases conclusions are reached well in advance of the open of the official trade period.
  6. right.... a first year first round draft pick that plays all games earns in excess $130K .......
  7. no but I was considering a career change and becoming a publican - is that the same thing ?
  8. What's it to you, big boy ?
  9. Hey !!! that's me !!! ( except for lesbian bit)
  10. Please don't ever equate what those moron at the MRP hand out as being a reflection on the player being a dirty player or not. They haven't got a decision right this year and secondly if you have a look at what players are getting rubbed out for, you could hardly call them "dirty" and yet Daniel "nose breaker" Merrett gets off.
  11. He also seems to have improved his disposal which was the main knock on him.
  12. I'm a bit staggered by the response to Watts possessions. If we are wrong about his disposal then I wouldnt trade him - I'd just delist him as he has little else to his game at this point. He doesn't impose himself on contests, no tackling or chasing. His only saving grace has been when he has ball in hand but apparently that's substandard as well.
  13. Can someone please list our Free agents for next year and the year after. I think the simple solution is for us to rehash this thread next and the year after and just scratch out Frawleys name and replace it with the another name because this is the nature of free agency and it will continue year in and year out unless they change the rules..
  14. Ummm Firstly - of course he only cares about himself Secondly - Why do you think it is the run around - this was never going to be settled until ALL clubs have finished the season. Does anyone believe this only about seeing the direction of our club ? It may have been this in part but it is as much or more about securing his own future and this can't be done until the season is done and dusted - and that is after the GF.
  15. My reading is that the altered financial arrangements within the contract were all settled - so there was no further monies forthcoming and there was no further obligation on the player to train/play/represent the club. However he is still listed until the Contract period expires and that is Oct 31.
  16. he was always quite wasteful and has always been prolific
  17. disagree completely - I think there are ample things that we can criticise Jack for - attack on the contest, attack on the ball, his chasing - but he usually makes the right decision and he will go forward with his disposal if there is an option which there rarely is. If there is one player I want the ball in the hands of - it's Jack Watts
  18. This is what makes Demonland such a wonderful place. You want Juice to succeed - but not at the MFC - so you can stick it up posters ( and probably point out that the club made ANOTHER mistake). How about suggesting we are one of the clubs interested and hope he makes a go of it at the MFC - wouldn't that make more sense ?
  19. There is that....
  20. I don't believe posters get so worked up over a purely subjective assessment. I have biases, we see journalists have their biases so of course the selectors will have their tinted glasses as well.
  21. I reckon its like the Melbourne vs GWS or Brisbane game - some of the dullest football from either team you will ever see with neither team really wanting to win.
  22. What has me face palming is "we have to help these poor unfortunates" as long as none of them try and get on a boat to come to his country.
  23. Many will laugh and then again some who have had some experience with sexual abuse won't ? Isn't the point that before you go and put yourself out into the public spotlight you may want to consider how a broad range of people will react to your attempts at humor ? I understand black humor or humor that pushes the boundaries but your select your audience. Dressing up as they did, posting it on instagram was never going end happily Even with the constant education these players get, the message that are given to think about their actions, it is obvious that these two did not "think" at all.
  24. I thought he was borderline to get in and to be honest, don't give a rats about purely subjective awards like the brownlow or AA. However these two posts make me shake my head. There is little doubt in my mind that he would get a gig in any other club in the AFL.
  25. This point gets lost in the wash. Players rarely are out there spruiking themselves - it is now almost exclusively left to the domain of player managers. And whether a players wants to stay at a club or leave, those blokes are forever talking to the clubs and clubs to them - getting a feel of players worth and interest so they can get the best deal for them at their current club or get them to the club of the players choosing. I found it interesting that it was reported in a paper that one of the club was having a list management meeting this week and they have a regular meeting with all interested parties in the club every 2 weeks So would lots of clubs be talking to Mitch's manager - absolutely.
