  1. I don't understand the need to completely bag out a footballer. We don't need to sugar coat it but saying that Nicholson was a limited footballer who had a crack would get the message across wouldn't it ?
  2. I dream of the team being mediocre
  3. As a person who has had some experience with people with the illness and people treating the illness the only certainty is you will get a plethora of different opinions from health professionals on what they consider the best approach to treating depression.
  4. I need to clarify - what addition you are talking about ? The act came into being in 1975 - Keating amended it in 1994. To my knowledge there has been no movement on the legislation since then. This current Government have shelved plans to alter 18c of the Racial Discrimination Act. The addition you are referring to is the Keating amendment in 1994 ? I am not sure what Fred Nile has got to do with any of this. I'm not dealing in hypotheticals. Your statement was that it is hard to legislate - no, it isn't as there is legislation in place. Your statement is that is even harder to prosecute under the legislation - no it isn't - the Andrew Bolt case tells you otherwise ( for the record - not a fan of Andrew Bolt but I am not sure if I agreed with his conviction on the "Andrew Bolt case"). There have been numerous cases brought forward under this legislation ( albeit 2012-2013 - the greater majority did not make it court and were resolved by conciliation).
  5. This is what I find interesting. I have heard his manager speak a few times and MC once and I am yet to hear either of them say that MC doesn't want to play for the MFC - in fact MC stated in his channel 7 interview exactly the opposite. The problem with all of this is that many sources are reporting it ( that he doesn't want to play for the MFC.) Posters keep taking the leap that because others are reporting it then it is so. However - the language and signs from Roos do indicate to me that he wont play with us next year
  6. Irrespective of the outcome, it really could have been a feel good story but has been handled appallingly. Imagine the football world reporting that after 6 months away he would like to try and come back ( no matter how uncertain of the end result) and he would like to play for us to repay us for the support given to him and his troubled two previous years. His stocks would have risen immeasurably - even taking away the more lunatic fringe ( mainly on here !) most of the main stream footballing world are not enamored with the perceived direction he and his management have taken. Again, irrespective of the outcome Mitch, you haven't done yourself any favors.
  7. Neither impossible to legislate or deal with in court as Andrew Bolt found out. Whether one agrees with the legislation or the findings against Bolt is a completely different debate.
  8. I have watched nearly every game the MFC have played - after the past 6 seasons watching I can confirm that I am already in the realm of the dead.
  9. or we could go with H_H was banned " just because" and I'm not sure many would disagree or argue with that either.
  10. The whole notion that we are arbitrarily paying school fees is such a nonsense. This payment would absolutely be part of the salary cap. Unless someone can post something to contrary, the payment for fees would be nothing more than the player having the club pay for something which forms part of his contracted amount rather than the player getting the money and paying it himself. The major talking point should be whether we got $2M ( reported) value from his time at the club.
  11. Could have probably stopped here because this is what he brings and this what we don't have.
  12. He'd probably be a buddhist.
  13. For and against. For - if he has a really good season at Casey then he is cherry ripe for the following AFL season when we draft him to come in and make an impact Against - whilst ripping it up at TAC level will elevate your draft ranking - it may not to the same extent as Lovett ripping it up at VFL level. Could mean we have to play a lot more for him in the F/S bidding. There is a case for what Spirit of Norm Smith said " shhh - send him to the outback for 2015". I think I prefer the positive spin - give him experience at VFL level next may give him a jump for 2016 and if we have to pay more in terms of a pick - so be it. ( note- it didn't really affect the pick we had to give up for Viney but he didn't rip it up at VFL level)
  14. Jesus drafted many disciples but unfortunately the Galilean culture at the time meant none of them came on. The Romans snared franklin and Tippett. It was never going to have a happy ending for Jesus after that.
  15. That is 100% accurate. I didn't damn Scully until most of what others knew was verified. Although I am sure there was more to the Scully story, most of it came out in the end. I ended up disliking him in December as much as many disliked him July ! This whole thing has a stench about it - The whole story may not come out but I m sure there will be enough to decide exactly where I stand> Its not looking good but I will keep my displeasure on hold until I know a little more.
  16. Yup. If you want to damn him for talking to Collingwood and it appears it was before he talked to our club - then fire away - that has been pretty much been verified. I don't have a problem robust debate about what something that has been verified. My problem is with him being damned about statements he just hasn't made - in fact he has said the opposite. It well may turn out that it is correct but I do exception on posters putting words into his mouth and then damning him for them.
  17. You see, this is where we need just a wee bit of "calm the $$%^# down". Please point me to where Mitch declaration where he said he doesn't want to be at the club. He has done one media interview on channel 7 and said he would like to be at the club. So he has said exactly the opposite of what you have posted. Now I, like most, take this interview with a grain of salt - but there is so much conflicting information. Plenty of time to get your "hates on" when you have some facts to actually hate about.
  18. IMO - they are chalk in cheese on what they offer to the team.
  19. That's called the Hogans Hero's clause......
  20. His father was a brick outhouse. legs like tree trunks.
  21. One of my all time favorites - Brett was as slow as treacle - but was courageous, strong overhead for his size, great decision maker and his number one feature - never ever lost his feet.
  22. Paul Puopolo was taken pick 66 - what would you give up for him. Where you were taken in a draft has zero relevance - can he play and what does the club think he is worth is the only relevant consideration
  23. Rambler matador
  24. I'm not sure that's right - I thought Roos said they have been trying to catch up for 2 weeks but hadn't
  25. I was until I got vilified on here.... ( nutbean cracks the sads and sulks off into a corner)
