  1. This is so me. Blease - runs and breaks lines - adds all that pace. Pretty much amounted to nothing for us.
  2. be prepared to half mightily [censored] off as those questions sell papers.
  3. careful - he may flip you the Byrd.
  4. who woulda thought.....
  5. I think it has more life yet - as they say - if it ain't baroque, don't fix it.
  6. to be franck, you were on a haydn to nothing with that one.
  7. read quotes from Bomber this morning - seems nothing could be further from the truth. Given Adelaide a decent smack.
  8. wait.... are you suggesting that posters on here jump to conclusions ? For shame......
  9. Good get - Bomber scathing of Adelaide this morning.
  10. seriously - what the fugue are you talking about ?
  11. not really fussed - I thought puns were funny when I was cracking them but they're not so funny now that the schuberts on the other foot.
  12. Can we please stop this - for Fuch's sake.
  13. Strong word was Geelong .
  14. On reflection - it says more about the club than it does about the players - we have given 31 to Phil Carmen, Templeton, Scully and now Grimes. We made a large display in giving no 11 to Mitch. These numbers do have a history and more cache than other numbers and the club has provided theatre around giving these numbers to certain players. No player since RDB has added any shine to the number 31 and the first person to wear no 11 (and there was great ceremony involved in giving that number) has also not added to its value. I think the club should reflect on this and at the end of Grimes run retire the numbers and not give it to a savior player the minute he arrives at the club ( Scully/Trengove/ Clark)
  15. I don't want to be preachy and holier than thou ( because I have got a few skeletons in my closet) HOWEVER ( don't you just love a however) Both Scully and Mitch were given numbers of significance. At the MFC if you get given number 10 or 12, or number 30 or 32 - they are just another number. But to be given 11 or 31 does mean something to the club, its history and its supporters. Both Scully and Mitch have shamed these numbers and the club that put faith in these players to do these numbers proud.
  16. Why is anyone surprised at any inclusions or omissions - it is a popularity contest - nothing more.
  17. Plenty to dislike about what has/is transpiring but this is a bit of "leap". Having said that..GNF posted some time ago on this site regarding him training and what might transpire and if that information appeared on demonland it can't have been too much of a secret. I suspect once the "training" commenced the calls may have started to and from his manager from other clubs. Geez I am good at arguing against myself.
  18. I believe he is to blame for the GFC and Jack Watts as well. ( I secretly think he is the mastermind behind ISIL)
  19. why ? The only consistent thing with the MRP is their inconsistency.
  20. the African explorer. did someone call me schnorrer hooray hooray hooray ( okay now I am REALLY showing my age)
  21. I agree with this 100%. I have always thought Sylvia had talent but not the application (I know we disagree on this one Rjay !) I also don't think the last line is arguing against the rest of the post - I wish all footballers had the mental application and intestinal fortitude of Nathan Jones ( I believe no matter what environment you put chunk into he would thrive) - alas they don't. Shout me down Rjay but on raw talent I have Sylvia ahead of Jones. As all round footballers - they are not in the same universe. To me it is not just a matter of poor recruiting that has resulted in almost every draft pick we have had has either been poor or at best serviceable. We have not had a culture that demands success or that nurtures or develops talent - we have not had mature A grade footballers to usher in the youngsters. Even during the Daniher years we celebrated making 8th spot - that meant we were slightly better than half of the teams in the competition - nothing more. Sylvia to me is a prime example of a player with talent coming into our cesspool where our culture demanded absolutely nothing and that's pretty much what we got.
  22. Harts also did a tram session http://www.tramsessions.com/sessions/harts/
  23. On topic but a complete aside - stumbled across this yesterday - tram sessions - random talent jumping on trams and playing. ( to support sustainable transport and support live music) http://www.tramsessions.com/ Imagine getting on tram and Paul Kelly lobs on behind you and starts playing. (btw - Paul Kelly - you are a god)
  24. I find it amusing that posters are saying - mad to go to Geelong or Freo. They are both light years ahead of us in terms of their lists. The talk about Geelong sliding - that's why they pick up new players - so they won't slide - they have some good younger talent coming through. I heard the same madness about Rivers going to Geelong because they were going to slide and he has now played in finals the last two years. Bottom line is that if he goes to either Geelong or Freo he will be playing finals next year as opposed to staying at the MFC.
