Hey Stevetheman...for all my posts you don't like - its not really me posting - its uber-nutbean.
-
Sorry- heard this line way too may times before....

I for one understand the rationale behind the medical fraternity and the advice regarding the pressure to his mental state and playing AFL football. But to my thinking, firstly, there are no guarantees that going to any other club he will not be subjected to the same pressures and secondly, by turning his back on the MFC he will be attracting extra unwanted attention and pressure of being the player who turned his back on the club that went out of its way to help him. A surprising revelation - I would have thought he is either well enough to play AFL football ( with us) or it is risk to his well being and stays retired.

Most of the highlight packages are pretty meh. Two of the better packages I have seen is Fitzpatrick and Troy Davis - what does that tell you ? -

For accuracy sake - Roos said he would not have done a straight pick 2 for Tyson - he wanted to get a pick back in the top 10 which was he got. (Tyson, 9 and 52 for 2,20,72) -
I'm not giving him the benefit of the doubt but I am waiting for something a little more concrete. It's not looking good but I can just as easily get angry in two weeks time as now. I'll happily go into meltdown mode when there is something more definite to go into meltdown over.

Roos is on record Saying he wanted that trade precisely because it was two for one deal. He also said that Kelly would be a really good footballer. He called it a win win. -
You go girlfriend ! seriously, I got to let it go. Never had a problem with opposite points of view. I love a well reasoned debate. I do bite when opinions move into the realms of fantasyland ( the "I know what Roos is thinking behind closed doors"and "we should offer him $200k"). I will gracefully retire from this thread, watch him go to another a club, see us get a pick of some sort and watch posters label him various unsavoury names which the mods will have to delete.

The irony is that if extend the list, you are not far behind. I have not defended Frawley. I have rather pointed out posters that take extreme positions and let an unpleasant contractual position completely alter reality. Welcome to free agency.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HERITIER LUMUMBA

Maybe its the same posters who are saying the same about a 26 year old ex All Australian. -
Meh... you are talking to the President of that club.
-
You are probably right but you are asking posters to dismiss something that is not out of the realms. It is being fanned by posters, media and the man himself by posting that he is training

He was all Australian in 2010 - apparently a bad year for all Australians -
The Nathan Jones appreciation thread

I question the extent his of natural ability but that is so much more than countered by your comment "He is a self driven, smart, hungry and desperate work horse who has done everything he can to get the absolute best out of himself for our club." Absolutely spot on. Give me 22 Nathan Jones any day of the week. -

As usual - you are being way too insightful in your appraisal. -

I'm not sure we are watching the same game as others. I have never noticed that he is a poor kick either. I love the way he grabs the ball and takes off with it - sometimes gets himself into trouble doing so but fortune favors the brave and we have far too few ( struggling to think of any except for Blease on the very rare ( and I mean very) occasion who are willing to run and break the lines. -
You can't understand the speculation ? - he has tweeted he is training albeit by himself. There is speculation ( unsubstantiated) both from a reliable source on DL and plenty in the media that he is training and will decide end October if he wants to have another crack. It may all amount to nothing but I would hardly suggest that the door is closed.

I think Taylor is looking at a Rookie spot for him - thinks he is borderline best 22. -

that doesn't narrow it down - most other footballers from other clubs are in our best 22. -
There should be a "numbnuts are banned from speaking to media " clause in players like Frawley's contracts
-
Sometimes hard to tell. I am just amused with some posters who's opinion on certain players is purely a reflection of the players contract status. If Jones doesn't sign by mid next season I will watch as he has goes from a triple B&F winner who bleeds red and blue to a player with limited ability who we can replace with pick 20 draftee.
-
100% correct - but we can moan all we like - FA is here and we are seeing the results of it. Some will drop off supporting AFL - I will be semi hypocritical and fully support the club and the players with the knowledge that my support for the players will have to be conditional as more and more test the free agency waters and move to green pastures. The solution for us to become one of those greener pastures - easier said than done.

Amen. It's not that difficult really.
