  1. Not MFC related, but I'm publishing "The Big Book of St Kilda Premierships" on Twitter later this year.
  2. Aside from winning us the match, great to see Kozzy lighting up in front of a large crowd of Aboriginal admirers. What a day to turn it on!
  3. What’s worse is that Goody never reviewed the 2021 GF - he’s got no idea how we won the flag!
  4. I don't think we're any more wasteful than other teams, but going to the pocket most of the time is definitely a factor in our scorelines. We kicked a pretty wasteful 9.15 in the '48 drawn Grand Final. Essendon kicked 7.27 !!
  5. Real estate industry sources are telling me the search for a new home in Melbourne is off - Luke and his parents can no longer afford to buy here because of interest rate rises. Forget the players’ CBA - we’re going to lose him because of the RBA!
  6. Look at the Brisbane player in the background - pleading with the umpire to show some mercy and stop the game before someone dies.
  7. Sick and tired of this club. We always seem to lose!
  8. I'd argue the contrary - the fact that a number of sides have gotten close shows the leads can be reined in. Most of those games could have gone either way. It would be a different story if teams were falling 4-5 goals short. Having opposition teams storming home against you every second week is no way to be winning games of football. Our 3-4 goals leads are infinitely safer than Carlton's 6-7 goal leads right now.
  9. I’ve got the same nickname unfortunately..
  10. Great win, but the way the boys celebrated in the rooms afterwards was a bit of over the top.
  11. Not surprisingly, Spargs was his usual jubilant self after inking the deal. Can’t wipe the smile off his face 😂
  12. West Coast looked like they were cruising to an easy victory when they scored that early goal. Thankfully our guys were able to dig deep, re-set, and get the game back on our terms 25 seconds later.
  13. West Coast were the only team to expose our Achilles heel last year - freak thunderstorms. Wouldn’t be surprised if Adam Simpson gets a forecaster from the BOM to speak to the WCE team this week and fire them up.
  14. Nah - Kozzy had already kicked the sealer by then.
  15. I’ve heard the full audio from the Dogs box - most of it is just Bevo ranting about Tom Morris and saying what a bad journo he is.
  16. Has never kicked more than 8 goals in a season. He’s got one in each game so far.
  17. Hopefully we’ve prepared for this game the same way we did against GC last year - by spending 12 hours trapped on a plane. We haven’t dropped a game since that fateful day on the tarmac.
  18. So he's nearly six months old and still hasn't seen a Melbourne premiership? Poor kid - I can't begin to imagine what that must feel like.
  19. How come the commentators aren’t using the proper names for the ground, such as the ‘Petracca pocket’, and the ‘bang bang bang end’?
  20. I think it's because last night was our first opportunity to express the joy of the flag in full voice under match conditions. A chance to finally release all that pent up emotion from having to view the 2021 campaign on a TV screen. Every goal and bit of good play was all the more enjoyable in the knowledge that we're reigning premiers, and I felt like I was cheering and celebrating last year's success as much as what was happening last night.
  21. Jonesy moving into media street this season with gigs on SEN and channel 7, according to the little paper. SEN is set to unveil former Melbourne captain Nathan Jones as its big-name recruit. Jones, who has dabbled in radio previously with RSN, will be the main voice of Friday night football for SEN. He is also set to feature in the commentary box for Channel 7 at various times throughout the season. Jones will balance his media commitments with a new career in property development. A much-loved figure at the Demons, the 34-year-old was the hard luck story of Melbourne’s premiership win. He didn’t feature in the senior line-up after round 15 and missed the Grand Final after leaving Perth to be at the birth of his twins. Jones, who was captain of Melbourne from 2014 to 2019, won three consecutive best and fairests (2012-2014) and became just the second Demon to play over 300 games. He announced his retirement after 302 games in the lead-up to last year’s grand final. There will be some tweaks in SEN’s football coverage with AFLW star Daisy Pearce and Hawthorn premiership star Jordan Lewis set to scale back their radio commitments.
  22. On the back of last night's embarrassing performance, I've emailed the club and asked them to take my name off the flag.
  23. My understanding of that message is that it was a reference to level 2 memberships - ie redlegs, tridents and legends - being sold out, not anything to do with round 1 ticketing.
