It's not the travel, it's playing away from home. It's an issue in NFL, NBA, etc... you can do all your preparation right but there is nothing you can do to stop the Perth crowd (and the slight bias of umpiring that goes with it)

Ummm Garry did try to speak to Lyon and his manager told him he wasn't going anywhere (from the saints). A few days later Lyon was at Freo - the deal was being done quietly. Not Gaz's fault.

Blease spent the whole year playing. The first third of the year was playing in the VFL, and he spent a few games in the middle of the year as the sub. Gysberts spent the first half of the year injured. One had a chance to bust his nut, the other was sidelined.

Was unlucky not to get games at the back half of last year. Seemed to get close competition between him and McDonald for the spot. I would keep him, how many players can we delist? If we delist him, along with the players already gone, and the players we will likely be delisting (Bate etc), we'll end up taking more players with pick 50+ anyway. Why throw away a few years of development.

Taggart 2 games (or was it just 1?) for 2 votes is nice, i spose. Look forward to him being fit. Luke Tynan went from winning the Casey reserves B&F in 2011 to being named in the VFL team of the year in 2012.

It's also not the leagues "best 40". They have to fit backs, rucks, etc for roles to make up a team. If it was the leagues actual best 40 it'd have a lot more mids.
