I always knew Goodwin was a poor decision maker. Gambling, peptides and taking the Melbourne coaching position. Clarkson wouldn't touch us with a ten foot pole.

This is the rub for me. The "Chaos ball" Hail Mary game plan is garbage. Our issues have been there for all to see over the previous 2 seasons and nothing has been done to rectify the problems. And we jumped the gun and hobbled ourselves for 4 years. Sheesh.

Clearly an embarrassing nut. Wouldn't touch him.

To be fair I thought I knew our team well enough that we were well and truly done when Gold Coast goaled with a minute to play last week.

For an example. I feel once David Nietz retired Aaron Davey suffered as he was subjected to aggressive taggers near every week with zero support from his teammates. When he was running around under the wings of big Neita he could walk that bit taller and play with more freedom. Brad Miller tried to fill the roll but was was quickly tamed by a few visits to the tribuneral.

What I found to be a fascinating doco on the "Enforcers" playing Ice Hockey who are there purely to protect their teammates. And yes I realise that this would never fly these days in the AFL but it explained a little why it's part of their game. Doesn't change the fact I'd still like to see a little more intimidation from our side. We've been beaten up for as long as I remember.

Often players develop into snipers as they age and start to realise they aren't quite as quick as they used to be. So they resort to giving out the odd clip to these younger faster upstarts.

We shall see. I wasn't happy in '88 or the following years. Or 2000 and its following years.. And I doubt I'll be all that pleased over the next few years. Not enough class to get the job done and our poor efficiency inside 50 is a sign of this.

Well considering the last 10-12 years as a yardstick. Last year seems to be an abberation doesn't it.
