Peter Sumich leaves West Coast to join Freo
Jordie_tackles replied to jayceebee31's topic in Melbourne Demons
Is the theme at Freo at the moments haha, good on them though, being ruthless and developing quite a good FD.... Lyon - Sumich edit thought Burns was at Freo for a second sorry.... but still moving in t he right direction -
Second point, after the other offer he speculatively may have received. Are we as a MFC opening our selves up to such circumstances? only offer good players Green who was AA last year and kicked 37 this season 1 year?? What about a club like Carlton coming in offering him the 2 years, who are in a window, and Green wont enter one with us??? Players at MFC know they wont get 2 years with us once they hit the 30, then there is the Bruce thing and Junior thing.... maybe he is thinking take the years and maybe a premiership while he is offered it? ALOT if not very other club would JUMP at a 37 goal a year medium forward.... who's better at it than him? Lecras? Stevie J, and who?

This is true, i think we all judge players like Green harshly due to the fact he can play so much better, in syaing this he and Jurrah our two leading goal scorers did so playing their "worst" seasons. We all know how Green can play, and i think the Captaincy hurt him alot this year, to much going on for him He is not done yet and will add to our side in 2012 and beyond, In saying this 1 year for Brad with some kind of activation into a 2nd if he meets it, or deserves it ect

Yeah that would be nice cant see it though unfortunately

They would, they can get maximum value trading them both years imo Also a kid named Lachie Whitfield is meant to be as good as O'Meara next year, but misses the eligibility for the mini draft so they will be able to draft an amazing talent regardless

Nicol said: “While we are sad to see him leave Avalon Airport Oval, history tells us that another chapter will begin for Werribee under a new coach. Paul joins the likes of Alastair Clarkson, Donald McDonald and Chris Bond as former coaches of our great club who have gone onto AFL level.” Was very good article thanks HT, would be pleased if he was half the coach clarko is currently

Not that it is related to X BOX but i was thinking that foxtel is going to be required next season with so many games being played on it.... spos you get soccer EPL if that interests you, i think fox was 50 a month or something for basic and sport when i looked, not certain though

I said this in an earlier thread somewhere, O'meara is all the rage atm and Crouch to an extent, and it would be nice to get them, but we may have a better chance at getting a top pick in next years mini draft. GWS will have just as exciting a pool next year for the clubs to drool over imo, new 17yo who are just as highly rated, so i would assume it is in GWS's best interests to leave 2 picks to have clubs bid for next year? 2 this year and another 2 next year, my point being that clubs might use them on trades ect this season, or for the mini draft this season, leaving us with the only truly valuable picks next season? The downside is this player wouldnt be on our list for what 2 whole years from now?

Neil Craig's role and weather or not he is at the "top" of the tree is irrelevant. Neeld is the one in charge of the team, there is no doubt in this, but somebody needs to watch what he and the other department heads, fitness, development ect do, this guy is Craig, Neeld wont "answer" to Craig, but they will talk about whats happening. I dont think Craig will actively voice his opinion to often, but be there to provide another perspective on issues, maybe ask questions to understand where everything is and how it all fits together, ensuring that everything that is done is towards the same end as the others (Neelds)

I dont think we can rely on these 2 to fill back six spots personally, many people suggest Cook doing it, but i dont see it. And yeah Garlo has been ok missed 4 games mid season though yeah? And you cant deny Rivers and Grimes history with injury I like Mcdonald ALOT, and apparently Davis is his equal really so there is some depth

I can admit that i have probably been a skeptic of Blease to begin with, not that i ever doubted his talent, just his application. He looks really good though, that pace is exceptional, and to use an overused term is truly a 70-80-90 metre player after he runs carries and kicks, quite valuable. I think 2012 will be a good year for Blease get 18+ games into him and by the mid point of the season he could become really valuable

If they want him and we dont, we would be douches to stand in his way, even if it was for pick 1001 we would let him go, he would serve them well too. I implore the sentiment of the OP, i like Joel and think he has something to offer, even if just on reduced wages if nothing else, he can play some football, and who knows under Neeld, alot can change. Some on here will say he has to go ect, having less than the best in terms of players is a sign of weakness yadda yadda, but i think you could get alot worse than Joel Mac in your 44 sqaud thats for sure Very similar to Warnock, DOMINATES VFL football but we all know it is a step down, but i saw him play live this year at that level and 3 time so on telly and he is really good, At AFL level he can mark and is hard at the contest, but doestkick it all that well, and plays the position on the ground in which we have the most depth

Neeld himself came from within the TAC cup environment, i would suspect this fact will have filled him with confidence in this system, and level of coaching. Bring the best "non-league" coaches available as deputy coaches, teach them the Neeld way of things and promote them when ready/when Royal ect are out of contract. Neeld will be running the lines next season dont worry about this, he will simple say how things need to be done, and the players and coaches will work accordingly. Neeld simply needs people who are willing to learn imo, he doesnt want to many other ideas floating around, this would disrupt his plans, so bringing in fresh blood allows this
-
They do it better than anyone, dont act like tools either
-
This is it, one from Neelds right hand at Collingwood it would seem, so we can guarantee that Neeld is satisfied with his appointment

Who says Gawn needs a couple of years, only the FD department will know this, Kreuzer played from age 18-19 so no reason Gawn cant from 20-21 or so, is huge and if he puts on 5kgs more will be even more impressive, even though he will need to be 115kg's at peak He would be good as a 50/50 prospect with Martin, what happens in 2 years when all 3 deserve a game in our 23? somebody needs to go at some point imo, and Jamar has value now, Gawn and Martin will in 2 years, a decision needs to be made imo or we may lose one for very little Also dont see a 28 yo ruckman in Adelaides rebuild tbh

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
Jordie_tackles replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Having zero luck atm.... i literally put some bait on a hook and drop it in, if anyone knows of good salt water bait let me know... pipies dont catch jack And yes i understand how JV will be perceived as a "different" prospect to Darling ect, even though he isnt I will regardless look forward to his arrival, and him being ready made will add to our more developed side in 2012 I think the reason i am happy to wait for players atm, or in the past is that we arnt in our window atm, in 2012 i will hope that we can be playing finals during 2012 not next year, so ready made players will have an instant impact on our team, where as in the past we can wait for players to "develop" probably one of our pet had phrases no RF? -
Funnily enough no, haha
-
I think two first round picks will get you pick 2 in this draft, and i would be happy to pay this plus something smaller, Crouch looks nice, and if people arnt aware he is apparently the second most effective kick throughout the TAC cup season, as an underager...wow Question being do we want one "Trengove" recruit or 2 Gysbert types, the trade off being depth, and you would nearly rather Trengove to two Gysberts imo, hard for us to lose though either way
-
Yes he is far from Vanilla, although i dont think he is a "game breaker" Wouldnt be against trading for him because he is very good, or will be. I just dont go for all his hype

Was never an attempt to wind you up Lutz, but definitely to wind your mates up, or a poor attempt at doing so was just trying to show you how little it all meant, as you may have been taking something out of their comments Although rumours started as soon as Scully's stopped about Hurley to GWS, i obviously no little about it btw your mates sound alot like Essendon supporting mates i know...
