I think they timed it over the 2 week break so he may only miss1-2 weeks max of training, most likely will run/jog laps as he has done anyway
-
At this stage it is really a personal preference of who's highlight tape you like the most, Couch or Magner (assuming Nicholson gets promoted first). I think Couch looks pretty well rounded, but just doesnt tackle the same as Magner, i still voted Couch but imo its a raffle until atleast the NAB cup, where both will play. Neeld took Couch from Collingwood so he may have a liking for him already.

I think Neeld is using Baileys pieces, (he has no choice) his box is completely different though, new and he doesnt have all the pieces yet -

People are well aware of which players are father sons, can you name me the sons of all the players who's kids never made it? -

Yeah, terrible terrible news, This is the reason he slid in the draft after all, lets hope it is only a minor injury if this is possible. Will try not to speculate to much atm -

I just find the whole he is good because his dad was good thing a bit crap. More players arnt as good, or players who's dads were average are great players ect. -

How many father sons dont even play AFL, genetics? 95% And no i dont think GAJ gets it from his dad, they have a completely different skill set/position on the ground ect, both talented, but in their own right imo -
I noticed this as well, as i think many would have, one of the real big benifits we get when a new coach comes in and changes things up, and shakes the cage a little bit. One of the major benefits from taking coaches form the lower leagues, they know who can play because they coach against them in the TAC and VFL alot, also they see the under rated players who have missed the normal system.

Like the first point, i dont care who his dad was, he isnt his dad, without be rude to the kid, but you have to be your own man, and he obviously is, He didnt get on an AFL list off his Dads name, he did it when he was 23 and having played his way through leagues states ect, he is the role model and replica of what you want a rookie list player to be, hungry, willing to put in the effort, do the hard yards. -
Just watched episode one and continued to "obtain" the next 5 without a blink, will let people know what i think of the next few but looks quite good.

If he can do this, then all 18 clubs might kick themselves that they didnt gamble on him...... Likewise if he doesnt come through they might thank their lucky starts ect -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LEIGH WILLIAMS

All potential at this stage, But he has age on his side, lets hope his similarities to Pods are realised while he is Melbourne listed, Didn't Pods spend time at a similar age on the Bulldogs and Essendons lists before dominating the VFL and exploding at Geelong.... -
Hope fully we can build up the depth in our midfield, with the addition of Couch, Magner, Taggert, on top of Blease, Nicholson and Evans who we havnt seen alot of we may get the extra 2 or so players we really need. Even just the competition for spots will help it, rotating those who are in form ect... Edit- and being honest we have improved every line of our team, Backs with Sellar Rucks maybe with Clark, barley needs the depth though Mids with Couch, Taggert, Tynan and Magner Forwards with Clark, Sheehan and Williams All areas have new talent and potential, good times

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAI SHEAHAN
Jordie_tackles replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think i heard as was said he showed glimpses of abiility but wasnt consistent enough, Also think i read that he came on late in the season for Geelong? hence not many recruiters saw a heap of him to make up their minds. or enough quality in him. Im liking the connections which have been made with the new coaches and some recruits, Sheehan, Couch, Magners all on recommendations as late picks, also Tuck being recommended as well -
Yeah that is my understanding aswell, Hopefully Casey appreciate the players who will be available to them, as they lost quite a few didnt they already? with Mohr going to GWS ect? not a bad midfield on paper for VFL Nicho, Evans, Couch, Magners.....plus MFC surplus and who ever they recruit..... Also as much as you dont want to talk about it LTI's do happen and create opportunities Evans and Nicho last year for example
-
Well the more the merrier imo, with the number we have and the latest additions well one is 18 but the other is about 20 yeah? so body may be slightly more ready with a step up to VFL in 2011 and hopefully AFL beyond, as you say with now Clark, Watts, Cook, Sheehan, Sellar, Fitz and Williams surely we can find 3 talls for our best 22? This may throw Watts around a bit imo, not because he wont be best 22 or wont be better than any of the others mentioned but because he can play high up the ground, play like a mid through the middle or on a wing, HFF ect, his delivery to 2-3 of the other guys mentioned could be incredible, also adds flexibility. someone has to step up for this to happen still though, no need to get too excited, only a ltttle haha Anyway what i think is teh thing now is who can take the veterans list promotion off the rookie list? i think it will need to be a midfielder unless Williams or Sheehan are AMAZING..... which mid? NIcholson is in Poll atm imo but can Couch, Evans or Magners steal it off him? whoever gets the promotion is highly likely to be starting 23 round 1
-
I like the selections, two ready made inside mids in a good age bracket, and two project KPF which is really positive. There may be a few players drafted who can play early next year, with Magner, Couch, Taggert hopefully one can get in early
-
The second season of "an idiot abroad" offers much of the same....nothing amazing, they do a bucklist type thing If you havnt seen the first one then do that

I agree, but it is up to Neeld and co to get the players to "Play like demons" again Not like bruise free fairy's
-
The term demon is alot more than just a name or mascot to MFC, it was a lead in to our most successful era, where the MFC was ruthless ect, the demon is a mentality we need to embrace.
