  1. Maybe we knew theres a good chance we will get smashed and loose draft picks next year? Maybe thats why we used pick 3 & 13 to secure Hogan now, because next year our 1st pick could be 60!
  2. Bail, Spencer & Strauss re-signed for 2 years. Wonder what that means for Jetta, Davis and Sellar?
  3. Doesnt have much impact on games at WAFL level from what i've seen. Pass
  4. yeah the old adage about deck chairs and a famous boat comes to mind here. Not sure if they offer anything that the likes of Sellar, Jetta and co dont offer us already
  5. I hate the use of the word 'clutch' a clutch of 1st round draft picks? FFS
  6. No point crying over spilt milk. And if you want to go that way, how about wait to see how Pederson goes until you write the report card for this time-line of trades (Mclean - Gysberts - Pederson)
  7. A-grade quality stars We have plenty of portential stars, but until one or two really 'make it' and step up to be in the top % of players we'll always be lacking that something that all great sides have
  8. No way, we need more mids on the list, not more forwards!
  9. Im sure the mighty Black Ducks would welcome JB with open arms. And if not them then maybe he'll be wearing red and blue next year.... for the carey park panthers!
  10. i think people's opinions of our trade period is being skewed becasue they percieve some of our selections (Rodan in particular) to be no good. Also loosing moloney, Morton, Gysberts, Martin & Rivers is loosing quite a few better known names from our list. what outsiders dont realise though, its that Rivers aside, all of the players we lost were unlikley to get many games in 2013 anyway, so whilst its a loss from a squad depth POV, its not as significant as people might think. Dawes - Quality forward taget who got games in a very strong Collingwood side, easily best 22 Byrnes - Small forward/mid, who was pushed out of the Cats 22 due to some very talented young players being prefered - still got alot to offer and is in MFC's best 22 due to the lack of small forward options that we have Rodan - Pacy mid with good run and carry skills, delisted from port as new coach seems focused on youth/building a team from scratch. Delisted due to age/contract status, not ability. may well be in Neelds best 22 Pederson - Strong VFL form went unrewarded at previous club. Stocks are likley to rise with more exposure at AFL level. (might be our equivelant of Mumford, Kennedy etc etc)
  11. id be disapointed to see any of Barty, MacDonald or Jetta go. I think you could find players with Bail's traits in any of the state leagues
  12. 5 for hogan 31 for viney 33 for Barry Peterson, Dawes and rodan can take their pick and pick 4 can have 23
  13. I'm disappointed to see Bennell go........only because old dee's post match reviews won't be as funny to read
  14. Gysberts is the only one of the traded players that i am disapointed about loosing. Let be honest, it hurts to loose a bloke taken at Pick 11, who has recieved 2 rising star noms, and seemingly had everything needed to make it apart from size at 22 years of age. Having said that the pecking order for Mids is getting pretty long. Jones, Trengove, Grimes, McKenzie, Howe, Blease + Viney & presumably pick 4? Couldnt see Gysberts getting a gig infront of them for a good few years. Probably the right call
  15. Rodan and Brynes are decent players - the reason they didnt get games at their previous clubs was due to their age, not on field performance. As for Dawes, he could be a dud, or could be really good fro us. I think a change of scenery will be good for him.
  16. Jeez theres some good numbers to be handed out arent there? Dom Barry #33 or if Old Dee allows it, maybe #7?!
  17. Hogan should get 5 IMO, pick 4 can have 10, and J Viney can have RDB's 31
  18. The AFL 'journo's' need to chill out, go on holiday and come back for the NAB Cup where they can be relevant again. I hate this drawn out trade/draft period and these smug journos who preach to the masses about the way things should be done. Having said that, Neeld isn't shying away from media attention. We haven't exactly slid under the radar with the sort of deals we've been doing!
  19. I wonder if both of them asked to be traded?
  20. would neeld have traded blease and watts if he took over a few years ago?
  21. My first reaction was, 'they must want to give our new picks some good guernsey numbers'! Bit perplexed, however perhaps they have a formula for what types of players should be on a list, and viney is taking gysberts inside mid role, and they have plans for someone else to play the sort of role Morton might have had?
  22. At least rodan will side step around any would be tacklers.... As opposed to Putin the ball under one arm and trying to break every tackle ever!
  23. at least we havent traded Gysberts for Prismall! Rodan will be ok. I think when we see the list for 2013 people will realise there are still plenty of kids there. I do feel sorry for grenny though, im sure he might be a little perplexed at this signing when he might have been persuaded to retire?
  24. Nathan Jones Sam Blease Chris Dawes
