  1. why post about who you have on ignore?!
  2. the players who translate good form from u18 - AFL are those who want it the most. Wines seems to be made of teh right stuff. We could do far worse than pick him @ 4
  3. Thanks BH, looks as though Rodan may well be worth the short term contract after all
  4. Tapscott has a nice long kick, but he's yet to use it in games. Same goes for James 'the Elite kick' Strauss....... Both lads need to find more of the footy so their field kicking can shine
  5. interesting. Wonder if Hell's gates has heard anything of late?
  6. I like players to stay in the number they started with.
  7. I didnt actually, which topic was it in?
  8. Would you like the club to retire #7 in respect for your mate?
  9. Our mids will took alot better having a decent forward line to kick into. How many 'kick and hope' long bombs from ~80m out will look like good decisions with Dawes & Clark snapping them up and kicking truely? Quality mids find a way to excel inside and out. As other have said, Judd, Ablett, Selwood, Kerr - they win their own ball and hurt you on the outside if need be too. If Wines naturally find the ball, then we need him. how many players on our list would you think could regularly get 30 disposals? Maybe Jones, thats it
  10. of all of the players i've met, Barty was one of the best. Could have a chat like he was one of your mates. Sad to see him go
  11. i noticed that Jones is going for the Paul Chapman "beard/nude-nut" combo
  12. i would have thought Davis' position would have been under question as soon as we signed Gillies. Hope we keep Jetta on the list
  13. I'm just happy we still have pick 4! Wines seems to fit the bill
  14. Old Dee will know, he's apparently gutted by #7's delisting and has been taking a keen interest in where Bennell might end up next year
  15. Attention all Keyboard Warriors; give Gysberts a break. For all we know he'd probably done a heap of reps prior to this photo being taken and was completely fatigued.
  16. Was it LachyReidwho did the story? He's a Dees man
  17. the 'can Neeld coach' and/or ' has Neeld taken the right approach' debates have been done to death. The answer is we cant really tell until 2013 is done and dusted, or at least 1/2 way done. However, its clear to me we played the way we did last year inorder to do two things get the players playing with a primarily defensive mindset identify the players who would follow instruction from those who want to do things their way In short, it was a year we had to have inorder for Neeld to build a team to take forward. Its hurt as a supporter becasue we expected to see more wins after and up and down 2010. For Neeld to come in and let things continue as the had been would have been taking the safe option. Hats off to Neeld for standing his ground and putting the line in the sand. Mark Neeld the man, he is the LAW!
  18. Melbourne as a city is way better than Perth. The homestick factor is an issue for blokes who leave VIC to play in WA, QLD or SA. But you dont see that many people leave to go back to perth because they are homesick. And before people mention Morton & Wellingham, i think both were told to look elsewhere so the home factor helped, but both would have probably stayed if they had a choice in the matter.
  19. it would be nice but its very unlikley IMO. Its either, the AFL beat us with a stick and we head to the courts, or the AFL dont believe senior officials deciding to put the clubs future intrests ahead of short trm gain to be tanking.
