  1. More details tba. Daylight saving is obviously affecting bandwidth up here.😝 Enjoy!
  2. Comparing Jack’s Achilles to the severity Shane McAdam’s Achilles injury is probably erroneous. Charlie Spargo was listed injured (non-specifically) at North last week. Is he still attempting to recover from his Achilles which has dogged him over the last few seasons? Recall he bit the bullet and had surgery early last season after unsuccessfully attempting lengthy non-surgical rehabilitation. He returned to play with Casey towards end of the season but suffered concussion which ended his comeback.
  3. Max said today in Triple M segment with Brownless and Daisy that Jack will be back in 3 months!
  4. Is the unfortunate Shane McAdam still listed as LTI? Jack Henderson was his SSP last season. Can the club double dip? Jack Viney may need super human powers to be even considered for selection this season. To return to play post-op would be daunting for most mortals. There was some speculation about potential SSP’s in another thread recently. From the limited photo gallery snaps difficult to synthesize wholistically on availability’s. But did image 3 have Tairon Ah-Mu in the background? Not like for like but a speculative opportunity may open up for a young untested player with size and athleticism. Tom and Jack one would expect to be back on track at some stage earlier or later in the season.
  5. With team selection speculation reaching Saturday Night Fever levels on DL. Our young proto-champion patiently awaits his curtain call on the wings.
  6. Koz and Cuz kick off the endorphins and have some FUN. Like it lighten up and fly right.
  7. Stars are not aligned, $$$balls sAints swinging in the largesse of the AFL FIXturing breeze. Nasiah Cockatoo-Collins expected to reprise his infamous Docklands perfromance. Media, sAints fans and the wider footy ‘hood baying for more Demon blood. Question is can King Canute (Steven 1-0) reverse the tide?
  8. Human cannonball skies the limit.
  9. Given the VFL fixture DZ fly in fly out may be the go.
  10. Time for a cuppa tea, bex and get the card table out for a round or two of canasta.
  11. Thank you Six6Six! Melbourne is the centre of the Aussie Rules universe and the Demons it's nucleus. Any captured light which escapes to the diaspora rim is much appreciated. After reading the training reports, your Lumiere-like sequence of Latrelle Pickett's moves had us all salivating. Enjoy your sojourn OS. May "the Spirit of Twenty Six Six Six" be with us.
  12. Paddy Cross comes to mind. Pies pipped us on Roan Steele. Who immediately lost his matinee idol looks with the beagle boys lobotomy cut. But Uncle Jack has stepped in.
  13. Was some chat last week about his chances of promotion to their senior list via the mid-season draft. If this scenario comes off it would be a left field, blindside, Bradbury move.
  14. wayne your reports are my immediate go to, for authoritative updates during the pre-season. Today's... highlights some of the less illuminated foot soldiers on the list. Amongst the better known personalities. Pleasingly accentuating the positives and delivering neat pen portraits of skills, abilities, etc plus some of the buzz going on at Gosch's Paddock. Nothing beats 'being there', in the spirit of Captain Blood "He's a good ordinary footballer". Trust we have a few of them this season.
  15. Cheers doc, Round 1 1988 at the ‘G v Tigers. It was an unseasonably hot opener mid-30’s. So were the Demons against the once great but now fading Richmond. So many talented footballers on the park for MFC, truly a halcyon day at the footy.
  16. Tough first up gig for Casey against the reigning VFL premiers in the land of make believe.
  17. Carlton a good fit for Wade may he prosper.
  18. Given the current attrition rate recent claims of training down the house may need sober re-assessment.
  19. Round Zero nice if the AFL meat raffle wheel clicks and it's a win. You'd think a definite advantage Round 2 1, if you're running already battle-hardened and warmed up. Didn't help Harold though. Perhaps a judicious 4-5 day turn-around march would balance it out. In the realm of possibility logically all the early bird starters would swap partners next round to be fair. But of course AFL, logically and fair are mutually exclusive.
  20. Quote “...have departed, some carrying bruises of love gone cold.” Some of your finest prose WJ. Expect Mills and Boon to come knocking.
  21. A momentum swing like the tolling of an almost forgotten bell.
  22. Ugly breed. I like Sopwith Pup. Admirable flying characteristics with excellent maneuverability. Put bison to bed.
  23. Unnumbered small across half-forward ? Paddy Cross played with Casey last season. Smart player knows where the goals are.
