  1. Occasionally in my wanderings, I visit Karama shopping centre here in Darwin. On the wall opposite the Karama Tavern where you enter the shopping centre. Is a Sunday NT News pictorial display. Amongst the usual crocodile stories and page 3 bikini clad girls. Is an image of Liam Jarrah on a long scything run into the forward line with Colin Sylvia in the background. Back page headline says 'Sizzling Demons Too Hot'. I remember that cameo very well as I was in attendance the night before at Marrara Stadium. TMM that is one of the best displays of indigenous sporting prowess. It remains there well over a decade after the events portrayed. His recruitment was rather fortuitous given a number of clubs interest, but having the number 1 pick in the 2009 pre-season draft certainly helped.
  2. Much closer to Jackie O according to Cal and Riley.
  3. Paul Roos during his coaching stint memorably had Dave Hughes come in during the pre-season and address the boys. Hughes referred to Bernie Vince’s haircut as not been unlike that of a tennis ball buzz. The funny part was where he’d end up, as the Australian Open was in progress nearby. Somewhere in a women’s single match in the knickers of an attractive star. Bought the house down. The second image recalls this guy. Who appears overly amorous with the Collingwood crowd. (Sylvester is pleading mistaken identity). Haircut is colloquially known as “the Shunk” for good reason.
  4. Dwayne’s hitherto missing twin bro…
  5. Will Noah Yze get a rookie opportunity AM?
  6. Meanwhile down at the Docklands crossroads. O’Farrell selected by Carlton son of Cripps’ silk. Do a deal with the devil he’ll have your soul. Watch this space…
  7. Can see this thread is a bit of a Q&A session. Something that has been slightly perplexing is the expansion of the first round of the draft. At genesis every club was given one pick in reverse ladder order. That should total 18 with the growth of the competition. After the horse trading, plus the genie of future firsts now live! Some clubs will of course have multiple first round picks. Add the generous AFL largesse to the perpetual cellar dwellers, ‘disadvantaged’ newer franchises in the NRL heartland and compensation picks for free agency. The first round girth has blown out right out to a generous 27 notches on last night’s first draft night. Will the entry of the 19th Tassie Devils necessitate the use of braces on the now moribund figure of the draft?

May the crows beggar belief, be bamboozled in the headlights and buy or be bullied into taking Harvey the Bull. Sid the Draper suits our needs best prototype modern footballer. Best dressed gets their man. 🤞🤞🤞 🤞 🤞
  9. Especially so at Carringbush, out Moonee Ponds way or beyond the Port Jackson hinterlands.
  10. Tiny Tim sans ukelele warbling "Tip Toe thru the Tulips" For those still believing Riak Andrew will somehow propitiously fall into our laps. https://berwicknews.starcommunity.com.au/sport/2024-11-17/berwicks-riak-andrew-on-the-map/ Thanks Left Foot Snap
  11. Andy Moniz-Wakefield is not getting a gig with the MCC Wind Ensemble anytime soon (Koltyn showed promise though). But come Week One of pre-season, that’s the third positive review l’ve read of AMW on the track this week. That block of games he played after his debut has given him self-belief and confidence. If Trent and Judd are destined upfield, there’s a slot for the taking at half-back for a talented young bloke with his credentials.
  12. Club recruiters would be well aware of him given his brother’s ascendancy at the Suns. Appears to have rebounded solidly from the previous season’s adversity. Fingers crossed but not holding my breath on draft night 2.
  13. Wouldn’t be relying on a late pick or rookie spot for this kid. Eureka if it somehow transpires otherwise fool’s gold. Young Ooze looks a solid prospect but keep it hush.
  14. #DemonSpiritual?
  15. Understand Jack and Tom returning early to pre-season training, gets them out of the house. Harry and Kade anythings better than Adelaide. Christian and Bayley hope springs eternal especially after last season.
  16. Steven May is a former co-captain at the Suns of course. Jake Lever has that uncertain je ne sais quoi quality about him. Must be the iconic moustache. No problems channeling Captain Peacock or was it Group Captain Lionel Mandrake from Stanley Kubrick's darkly prophetic movie? Keep it hisute, Max the Beard to be succeeded by Captain Rick.
  17. Never fear HT, a pre-season with Steve Moneghetti will get those skin fold numbers right down.
  18. Double take 5 - Armstrong Loves blowing his own trumpet, does a half decent moonwalk and wants to win at any cost. 9 - Xavier Lindsay Has a great Australian novel in him or as a fallback can paint nudes. 83 - Slim Would be a great addition, immediately enhances club culture. Get him in. “ I love to have a beer with Duncan We drink in moderation We never ever ever get rollin’ drunk…”
  19. 5 Harry Armstrong - DL meltdown will trump the second coming. Picket to lead the the insurrection. 9 Xavier Lindsay - no idea really won the Morrish medal. 83 Slim Dusty
  20. Change of hair ‘stylist’ 💈 will help.

Thought we gave up all the loose change to move to the premium seats. Would be astounded if 9th would be down grounded. Defies logic. Wednesday fortnight can’t be too far away… …relief is in sight isn’t it?
