It's funny i took Spirits comments to mean our game against the saints wasn't too bad given they are a pretty good side as evidenced by them pushing the roos.
-
I disagree. The bullies have been a formidable defensive unit this year and will certainly match our intensity at the contest. They also have loads of smaller players who will relish slippery conditions and the ball being on the deck. We need to play our fast transition game (and try to stop theirs - no small feat), a game that is made more tricky in slippery conditions given the premium on clean ball handling. Rain would also negate the height advantage of our forwards (and when Gawn pushes forward - he is becoming a real weapon in the forward 50).

Some interesting form lines evolving given we also pushed the roos and beat GWS, who thumped the saints.

Blimey.

I watched the last quarter of the pies vfl game and after a nice mark by the weed said to the fella next to me that he'll be pretty special once he bulks up. The fella said he could borrow some of his heft. It turned out to be his dad. Nice fella. I asked if he thought Weed jnr would get a game before the end of the year and he said perhaps one near the end just to give him the experience. The weed snr said he and his son were wrapt at how he was being developed and the club in general. Very positive. He also said Trac will be something out of the box.

Big call. Cripps is an absolute gun. One thing in Oliver's favour is he'll end up being physically bigger.
-
More gary lyon than a gunston type

In roos views he intimated the concussion occured the week before the saints game so you're probably right
-
Doesn't necessarily mean he is in though more than likely. Pies upgraded Cox and didn't pick him

Source?

I agree. We should be preparing for their worst or at best a middling performance.

Great, will look at my emails when i get home for details. Ta

I didn't know either (i should also read my emails). When does the sale finish as i was just about to buy a new pair of new balance runners!

Not sure how fast trac is over a distance. Poweful over 50 but 200?
-
He's out of left field

Tipsters nightmare indeed. I just know i'll tip the dees and it will cost me the tip 9 jackpot in my tipping comp.

Right. Roos does not meet your obscure criteria for success and his tenure will have been a failure? Uggh. My head hurts Jennings 'clearly' has no impact on selections, match ups or tactics? Really? Maybe they hired him for his good looks and deep voice. I am not sure why i have not already put you on ignore but i'll remedy that now. Good luck with your your half empty philosophy. I hope it works out for you.

What a load of bollocks

Confident of a win. Funnily enough ethiad now suits our game plan. Keep attacking dees!

Jeffy is one of the best recruits for the dees in the time i have followed us (more than 40 years). One of the reasons is as you say it is so exciting to watch him play and he has the x factor that one of my all time favorites had (the WIz). But what makes it such a brilliant recruiting coup (for that is what it its is) is that with the current high press game plan that is the modern template the small forward is more important than ever as they have so much space to run into when the ball gets turned over at half back and rebounds the other way. The legacy of malthouse at the blues is that he completely misread what was happening in modern footy and got rid of 2 of the best 3 small forwards in the game (and Waite for good measure).

Some interesting stats (from the Hun today, but Champion data is the source). You don't win games of footy without a midfield and finally we are getting some clearances. FINALS CONTENDERS? If they want to rest/manage oliver not much point only giving him 1 week out. Good player management

Correction. Stringer is our trac

None of the players you have listed are always elite under pressure, no player is. For example Salem shanked the ball a number of times under pressure in that Roos game. Watts is the best kick in our team, both under pressure and when shooting for goal. No one else i rather have the ball in at a vital moment in a match. He is technically the best kick and weights the ball to leading players better than anyone in the team and as good as anyone in the league.
