Do we need more mids? Absolutely. In fact it remains our biggest need. The top teams have 10 a or b grade mids. How many do we have?
  2. Kudos. In a bare season for rumours you nailed a good one
  3. We don't have nearly enough scapegoats to kick so i'm pleased the Melk (a Melbourne Elk) is on board.
  4. Fair point but this current FD has been excellent
  5. Or Taylor or viney? Never ceases to amaze me some on DL think they no more about trade value than footy pros
  6. The asada sage? I hope he doesn't get wada thyme
  7. Very good point. There have been any number of excellent players taken higher than 25 that recruiters have simply missed or who have been able to go to a higher level (raise the draft age!). None the less drafting remains a lottery and i'm happy the club is looking at Melksham. A point i have made before is that the other problems with draft picks for us is that we are at risk of having a poor age profile with lots of young players and few in that crucial 75-100 game zone. A good age spread is crucial, particularity given we are likely to lose Howe who is in that category (and maybe Grimes?) and getting Melksham in, and to a lesser extent Bugg and Kennedy, allows us more flexibility with our other draft picks.
  8. By all accounts? Please provide a link to just on account of a reputable football who has stated that view
  9. A view shared by Leigh Matthews.
  10. To be honest i can't see how he could improve his worth. If anything he could drop his worth if god forbid he copped a bad injury
  11. Yep so do i. As does making it clear Melksham, and to a lesser degree Kennedy and Bugg, is keen to come to the dees at this early stage
  12. If that's an accurate assessment by bucks I can't imagine roos would be keen
  13. Sounds reasonable enough. I like that it appears a locked in deal. Sends a good message that a player, who despite the predictable spud labels, would have options has chosen the NFC as his club
  14. Bollocks. As if the afl or wada would give such an assurance. The club would have a best guess on outcome most likely and would factor a possible suspension into the equation in a similar way they would a potential injury.
  15. Perhaps some called the club to warn them and the receptionist thought they were saying yada, yada, yada so didn't pass it on to roosy
  16. Great to have you back GNF. Don't let the haters dissuade you from posting trade rumours or personal musings.
  17. Watts was terrific as third man up this season. But of course he's not going to work as a a back up ruckman. One thing that the club will consider, even if many fans don't, is the age profile of the club. If we trade Watts, Jones, Terlich and Howe in addition to the older players we have already axed we will have will have a whole bunch of players 18-22, some 22-24 and SFA 25 and over. That does not work which means that if they trade Watts and Howe it will have to be for a player with a similar age profile not a draft pick. Look at the caning Melksham is getting on here. What mid twenties player that might be swapped for those two is going to have DL jumping up and down for joy?
  18. Kennedy is EXACTLY the sot of player we want. I reckon just about the most underrated player in the AFL and in my view is in the top 3-4 mids in the league. Perhaps lacks a little speed but more than makes up for it with his attack on the ball and ability to rack up huge contested and uncontested numbers. A warrior who perfectly fits the Roos ideal
  19. Are you being deliberately ironic?
  20. Does it matter these days if a player is a free agent or indeed off contract?
  21. To be clear I have zero information. But hers my guess for the big fish. Kennedy from the swans
  22. If he comes to the dees i'll support him. It's how i roll
  23. I know, was just paying along with Webber. He's overrated anyaway
