Agree. You'd have to expect we will also be better placed to respond to the times Gawn needs a chop out than we were before he got injured. So no let up for the opposition!

Not true at all.

Written by Anna Harrington. I really like her articles on the dees.

My bad, i thought his dad was Mark McClure. You're right about him getting stick from Lyon, though i don't usually listen to SEN 9i actually quite like RSNs footy discussion). Even on Talking Footy the others seem pretty dismissive of him - but to be fair to Sam that might be the standard 'you've never played at the elite level like us' routine ex players seem to love so much. Also risible.
-
Terrible show. I simply cannot stand pink lips McClure. Smarmy gossip hound who Watson, Darcy and Carey must hate having to work with. Apple does not fall far from the tree. Can't stand his old man either
-
Don't want him. Selfish player. Burnt teammates twice in a couple of minutes in the last q going for hero goals. Not on
-
Jets is an unsung hero outside of the dees. Surely has to be in AA considerations. Our most consistent and reliable players.

I have studiously avoided responding to your posts but this post makes no sense whatsover

He made one crucial in the error, the one that lead to a pies goal. The other one was standard clearing kick from the backline. And in my opinion he was outstanding in the second half against the pies.Critical to our victory in fact. But those comments aside apologies for the criticism. it was supposed to be in jest and riffing on the #OMacmyth idea but i could see how it could come across as a dig. I enjoy the show by the way and i will take up the invitation to call in at some point (i have thought about it but only listened live a couple of times).

#OMacmyths - OMac is a fringe player One of the funniest myths in fact. Fringe players yo yo in out of the side. think ANB, Kent, Stretch, Wagner and from last year Mat Jones. OMac has been dropped once in his career, came back after a week, been in since and in likelihood will play every game for the rest of the year. In fact i would go as far as saying he may not be dropped again for years. A fringe player? hardly. He is key member of our back six - now and in the future. I don't think the coaching staff can make that much clearer. By your logic when we have Jessie and Maxy back he, as fringe player who is lucky to be in the side and only got his chance because Spencer got injured (which given they could have brought Spencer in for OMac last week and this week but haven't is a tenuous argument), is sure to be dropped. But of course he won't be. And then you will have to rely on old #OMacmyths (they are just getting games into him for the future, its not about winning games now its about the future etc etc) or make up new ones (he's lucky the swans have two bigs in Reid and Franklin, he has photos)

#Omacmyths Oscar was lucky to came in when we were short of rucks and we needed to throw in his bro for coverage

Loving how the footy club is responding to Demonland topics. First the write up on Omac, replete with highlight package - and in which Omac says he knows he some critics but ignores them. Now this: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-06-16/hannans-journey-from-dogs-to-dees

I like the accompanying omac highlights package from Monday's game. Its almost as if it were put together for this thread and/or to dispel some #Omacmyths. Some nice first half highlights. I also liked the fact the final highlight they play play to its conclusion - Watts' match winner!

I don't know why there is an issue with the 3 year deal. if he gets to the point where he is not earning regular senior selection i suspect he will retire and they will negotiate a reasonable pay out. With a bit of luck they might be able to keep him involved in the club as they have done so brilliantly with Crossy.

JACK WATTS YOU STAR!!!!! - music to my ears By the by look at the joy on the skipper's face. And love how the clip ends with Adams son his haunches sucking wind.

Yep.
-
But they train at the same venue and have direct alignment so i'm sure he felt connected with the AFL side? Perhaps he has something to prove to them for not giving him a shot at AFL

Because its against the doggies?

Would it be too cheeky for you to ask for a margin?

All good points TT and i'm in complete agreement with all the points. What i'd add is we need to add a couple more 'elite' kicks, particularly players who deliver the ball into our forward 50 and pull the trigger and kick accurately into the corridor. Both are critical elements in maximizing scoring opportunities. I agree its easier for defenders to hit targets, for the reasons you point out. What i would say is that when a defender turns the ball over it it can look worse because it can lead to opposition goals or at the least a scoring opportunity. But acknowledging it is usually (but not always) a more difficult kick. a player who misses an easy target inside 50 or in the corridor will cost us a goal or scoring opportunity. The outcome of the turnovers is exactly the same - well almost as scoring creates momentum and being scored against can stop momentum or give it to the opposition. But despite the outcome being the same, psychology suggests we think a goal or scoring opportunity to the opposition is worse, Going forward we missed so many targets in the first half against the pies -as we always seem to in first half. It mad it impossible for us take advantage of our period of advantage. I was listening to the SEN details podcast, which is ok, and they were rabbiting on about the fact that don't turn up to play until half time. Which i reckon is wrong and certainly was against the pies. We were switched on and ready - we just turn the ball over too many times and wasted our scoring opportunities. One kick that comes to mind is Hannan, under no pressure and after a terrific build up and ball movement, kicking to a player all by himself on the attacking edge of the center square. He kicked it over his head to a pies player who swept it down the ground as we were all pressed forward. it cost us a scoring opportunity and gifted them one - potentially a 12 pint swing. yet he cops little criticism. There were any number of similar turn overs. And much less defensive ones. Watching the dirge last night Jetta's kicking skills really stood out and i think ended up being the difference as WC wasted so many opportunities with poor kicking - both at goal but also field kicking. They dominated that match but only won by 13 because, like Melbourne, turned the ball over way too much

Nice vote of confidence by the coaches naming omac in the starting 22.

It would seem #pedomyths have been put to bed and are no longer thing. In their place we now have: #Omacmyths For example #Omacmyths he had a poor first half against the Pies, a myth repeated by no less a DL luminary as Demonland himself on the DL podcast (which by the has led me to lose a bit of faith in his football analysis skills - i mean even if his bias affected his judgement during the game i have to assume by Wednesday he had watched the replay, but perhaps not) and not challenged by Grapeviney. But there are so many others: not AFL standard, can't read the ball, no other team in the AFL would pick him, is only being picked to fast track his development etc etc. What's your favourite?
