  1. Dons have done well out of this.
  2. Roos keeps saying the next best 2. Has he actually said the words Petracca and Brayshaw?
  3. Thank you so much for posting that. I'm so excited and I'm going to say it..... Petraccattack!!!!
  4. Did anyone listen to the Roos interview and can give an overview. Thanks
  5. You ask these questions because thy are unexpected. You don't care if they get it right - you want to see if they get stressed, how they react to an order that is left field, how their thought process works, do they write it down or struggle through. It's a psychometric test.
  6. This was amazing. Please put it on big footy!
  7. 3AW are giving McCartin the captaincy now:..
  8. CEO of St Kilda on now. Saying the Rewvolt line and the we want someone to replace Lenny. It's been Petracca all year long so why soften the ground for McCartin a couple of days out from the draft?
  9. They are talking number 1 mantle and how to handle it I have never heard a draft year with so many rehearsed lines. Petracca and McCartin say the exact same thing in every interview.
  10. I think from reading it was Salem, Freeman and Taylor was our 2nd backup
  11. Yeah - this is the worst radio station I have listened to. Why oh why didn't SEN have the news. I think back to Glenn McGrath. He was a pest (annoying) and his teammates loved it. The boys love Gawney (even Dawes) and he is annoying. There is not a key forward screaming in the U17 or U16 at the moment whereas there are some gun mids who are better than Petracca, Bradshaw, Heeney when they were 16 and 17. If the team can't split them, take the key forward this year and the gun mid next year.
  12. So I'm on 3AW Sports Today and its 6:40 - where is Petracca information!
  13. That's it. I change my preference to McCartin.
  14. Just for something a little different - Brett Eddy. Would be interested at 53 as he would take pressure off Hogan and we'd have a little more dynamic forward line. 48. Brett Eddy (SA – KPF) Height: 194cm, Weight: 94kg, DOB: 26/08/1989 Recruited from: South Adelaide Draft range: 40-rookie Best position/role: Full forward. Strengths: Ready to play – Eddy is a well performed state leaguer and the best immediate key forward outside the AFL with his play particularly through the first half of the season dominant with 50 goals from his first 12 games. Scoreboard impact – Eddy kicked an excellent 67 goals from 21 games in the SANFL and does it in a variety of ways. He is a good finisher and capable of finishing both from set shots and general play and is not purely a mark and goal forward as someone who gets for a key forward an unusually good balance of goals from not only set shots but also general play. Speed and agility – Eddy on the lead has excellent pace and the ability to create separation to take easy uncontested marks out in front. He also when running back into goal is exceedingly dangerous and if you let him goalside he will consistently take advantage of that opportunity for easy goals just running into goal. He for a key forward also has a rare ability to change direction, he can quickly go from leading at full pace up at the ball to changing direction and turning around and sprinting back into goal at pace which makes him so dangerous running back into goal. He can also be running at full pace and take a sidestep to lose his opponent. At Eddy’s height no one else has the ability to change direction as quickly as Eddy which allows him to easily run back into goal to get that separation to make him near unstoppable in those situations. He also is a capable pressure forward who will chase and tackle, his tackle numbers are not high but he is capable applying tackling pressure when used in the forward 50. Marking ability – He is a strong mark overhead and take it at the highest point consistently. He reads the flight particularly well and generally better than opposition defenders which allows him to get to the drop of the ball consistently. He is an excellent mark on the lead, creating separation and taking it overhead or out in front consistently as appropriate. He can take his marks v opposition contact and has the strength to his marking overhead. In the 1v1 contest he uses his body exceptionally well to protect the drop of the ball, just nudging his opponent out of the contest and he also often will with one hand hold his opponent out of the contest and take it cleanly one handed. Weaknesses: Presence – Eddy while a strong mark overhead he is not a key forward with a monster presence who will crash the packs or take the monster pack marks consistently, while strong enough he is not as strong or big bodied as some of the bigger key forwards in the game. Ground level ability – At ground level Eddy can at times lack cleanness and as a result he will often when the chance is there elect when he can to kick a soccer goal without picking it up, it works for him but ideally he would be pick it up more below his knees and make certain of it. What I expect will improve: The reality with Eddy at 25 years of age is you draft him for who he is today rather than who you hope he becomes as he other than perhaps some slight endurance gains and strength gains probably will continue to play much the same game. Who he can become? Eddy has the feel of something like a poor man’s Jay Schulz. When will he be ready to play? Eddy based on his strong SANFL League form is season one ready to play. How to best utilise him? Eddy is best utilised as a key forward. Interpretation of his numbers: Eddy’s number through 2014 were terrific and a big step up from his injury affected 2013 season. His total goals and goals per game numbers are excellent. His disposal and mark per game numbers particularly over the first half of the season were strong. He has a nice balance between uncontested and contested marking numbers. His goals came from a balance of set shots and goals from general play which is pleasing. The major issue from a numbers standpoint is the story of two halves this season for Eddy, with his second half to the season while still acceptable, not dominant like it was in the first half.
  15. We are a big group here at demonland. Lever will know where he is going now, so will McCartin, Brayshaw, Petracca, Laverde etc. top 10 usually know before the start of November. So if you know one, give him a call or see if he has booked a ticket to Sydney for Decelber. My mail from "mates" of the boys is that Wright thinks he's staying in Victoria, Brayshaw is locked at the Dees, and Lever thinks he's not leaving the state next year.
  16. Brayshaw had injuries the year before and had no consistency in terms of games. Funny thing is that he would have been drafted at 30 on upside and talent - not due to performances. This year he put performances on the board which made him rocket up the rankings. He's also up there due to a poor showing by the key forwards this year at the championships.
  17. I'll quote it now and hope for your sake he goes pick 1, because if he doesn't he thinks he's going to GWS.
  18. 2 and 3 for Danger and 10. It just seems sensible from both parties. We just need to keep some cheddar in the bank so we can lure his mates over next year.
  19. If Moore wasn't going to Collingwood he'd be in the mix for St Kilda or Bulldogs. Really classy player.
  20. Elephant in the room is Rory sloane. Won't want to stay if Danger goes.
  21. They would take that to the bank. You don't need to offer that much. Orouke's currency is now down to a mid 20s pick.
  22. Not so interested in Gwilt but would interview and test Jones. Id be doing my due diligence on any out of contract midfielder - Rains, Jones and Okeife
  23. 6 Tyson 5 Vince 4 Kent 3 McDonald 2 Watts 1 Riley
  24. Cellar Dwellers after a shocking season will be back again. This time sans 'diamond in the rough' picks.
  25. Currently doing a number on Peter Wright in the TAC finals. Probably most exciting thing is that he can kick! Last couple of matches he has really increased his draft standing. We would need to get another early third round pick to get him. http://www.mailtimes.com.au/story/2473312/oscar-mcdonald-picked-for-victorian-draft-combine/ http://www.mailtimes.com.au/story/2430365/oscar-mcdonald-makes-vfl-debut-for-north-ballarat-roosters/ Pick 57: Melbourne Oscar McDonald Position: Key defender/forward Height: 196 cm, Weight: 88 kg, DOB: 18/03/1996 Club: North Ballarat Projected draft range 50-rookie Player comparison: Jackson Trengove Oscar McDonald is one of the better key defenders I am really bullish about in terms of advancing to the next level. He is tall and athletic, and also picks off numerous forward 50 entries with his tremendous ability to take intercept marks and rebound strongly. Best described as a general in defence, McDonald the younger brother of Melbournes Tom is extremely versatile as a defender, and, unlike most key defenders, he loves to back himself and use the ball by foot. He hits the ball flat and hard, and has a really nice turn of foot, being deceptively quick over his first few steps. The Rebels have also used him as a key forward, and hes shown he can be just as damaging at both ends. He has a fantastic leap, strong hands, a really good work rate and rarely ever goes to ground. The North Ballarat Rebels gained a top four spot with a narrow two-point win over the Oakleigh Chargers. In a low scoring affair, the Rebels were incredibly accurate having just 10 scoring shots to a mammoth 23 but getting the job done. On the other hand, Oakleigh were terrible in front of goal and will need to address that ahead of their Qualifying Final against Geelong. Oscar McDonald was again the best and pushed his finals credentials while Hugh Beasley was a shining light off half back and Toby McLean exciting up forward. North Ballarat now face Calder in the Qualifying Final while Oakleigh meet Geelong. BFGN Rising Stars Medal: 5 Oscar McDonald (North Ballarat Rebels) 4 Michael Johnston (North Ballarat Rebels) 3 Hugh Beasley (Oakleigh Chargers) 2 Kade Answerth (Oakleigh Chargers) 1 Toby McLean (Oakleigh Chargers) The gun: Oscar McDonald The younger brother of Melbournes Tom, Oscar McDonalds season has seen himself launched into the limelight as a Jackson Trengove-like defender who boasts terrific athleticism, agility, speed, a lovely kick and the ability to threaten when pinch hitting up forward. McDonald has been North Ballarats gun player this year, and arguably their most important. Playing key roles at both ends of the field, he has been a large reason why the Rebels have shot into flag contention in 2014. With a terrific ability to read the play, mixed with a combination of being able to attract and use the ball in possession, his willingness to kick goals at one end and stop them at the other will go a long way to ensuring the Rebels go deep into September.
