Grimes kicks a goal - sounds like nothing has happened. The amount of times they have said "players fighting for the careers" and the only one they mention is Grimes is [censored] me.

I had him pegged for a rookie demontion, but maybe we will see him play a senior game in Round 23 this year if he keeps his work rate up. He is a tall mid at 187 (taller than Tyson, Petracca) but still light. His speed is missing in the demon side and we will be looking for pace in the draft and trade season so think he might have another year on the list at least. A good comparrison (althuogh he is not as skilled) H. Bennell is 185cm and 74kg and Hunt is 187cm and 76kg and Harley was doing really well at his size.

Thoughts from the commentary team: Casey dominated; able hit the scoreboard; played simple wet weather football; kicking it long and direct; runners at the front of the contest; set up well behind the ball (Terlich); look fitter;

Hunt snaps another. 56-18 Sounded like a smother by Hunt(?) picked it up and snap from the pocket. Almost 36 minutes that quarter. 8.8.56 to 2.6.18 4 goals to 2 behinds that quarter.

Been listening all day and from what I have heard Grimes and Michie are in everything. Michie hacking it out everywhere and Grimes tackling. The message from Plapp was to f-ing kick it forward and thats what they have been doing. Spencer and Jamar worked really well early and were able to take marks around the ground in terrible conditions. I've heard everyone bar King's name been called so far. The commentry isnt great (understandable) so hard to give you a player by play description. But Grimes seems like he'll be put back up from what I am hearing. I dont think Michie gives us anything that Jones, VDB, Brayshaw, Viney and Tyson dont. Toump was around it early. 50-18

Gent kicks another. 31 points now. Cant see Port getting back now

Jayden Hunt kicks a goal. 25 pt margin to us. I'll try and add some things from the commentary but they cant see anything so its mainly just jokes

SEN: "Melbourne will need to go to the draft again this year". They then said wonderful things about our youngsters

Demonland Player of the year - Round 15
Dee-licious replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6 Gawn - he dominated like he should have. Main thing I am happy with is the amount of ball he is getting around the ground. 5 Vince - 30+ again. A lot of hack kicks but where would we be without him 4 Jones - Again broke the tag and tried to really hard to turn the game 3 Dunn - Keeps the opposition forwards quite. Going really well 2 Cross - Goddard was killing us. Then Cross killed him 1 Watts - he's just clean. When we were coming he was the one getting us there (and then he stopped...) -
I hope I get to re-quote you time and time again and call you Nostradamus

Just looked at the heat maps. Our mids were getting all of their touches of half back. We are seriously missing Salem and Harry. The heat maps when they are in show a lot more of our mids getting it in the centre and forward of centre.

Next 4 weeks we need to be trying to put our best team on the park as they are 'winnable'. After that if we go 1-3... Play the kids!

Does this sound optimistic for Pedo: Cameron Pedersen: Pedos season has finished, due to injury, which is really disappointing. He played a couple of important games and really good games, but unfortunately were not going to see him for the rest of the year. I was waiting for Roos to say a good rest and he'll be ready for next season.

Watching training at the moment - I forgot how clean and skilled he is. Watching handball and kicking drills with him and Petracca and then Bail, Dawes and Newton - Trenners was fast and silky and hit each target. Only Petracca was the only other to do that (and they did it so quick it was amazing). When he gets back to running - if he feels comfortable running and chasing he is going to be the serious player we know he can be. He is way to skilled. He is seriously talented and has gotten cleaner and better while he hasn't played.

Been doing some detective work to find out what is happening with Jake. So he played for the Stingrays until the Vic Country teams were named. At that point we have yet to see him named in the TAC cup. I'm not suprised he hasnt cracked the starting 22 as yet for Country - they are very strong. But with only 2 games remaining and the championship already locked - hopefully he is able to get a game. As for his TAC cup: Round 8: 9 touches 4 tackles Round 7: 14 touches 4 tackles (named as one of the best on) Round 6: 13 touches 6 tackles Round 5: 15 touches 1 tackle Round 4: 18 touches 1 tackle Round 3: DNP Round 2: 18 touches 2 tackles Although they arent awe inspiring, he made the Vic Country team on the back of them and is named in the guts every week. Dandenong are 3rd on the ladder so hopefully we will see Lovett deep in the finals action. Most of the guys over at bigfooty have Lovett coming to us with our last pick. I like the romance of the father-son so hoping he does and hope he builds for the dees. If anyone else has any info please post it. Thanks

National Under 18 Championships - 2015
Dee-licious replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
To hand over a top 7 pick in this draft you'd want something seriously good. I don't even know if Coniglio would cut it. The top end has performed light years better than everyone last year bar Petracca and Daniel. I'd be asking for a Patton for a top 7 pick, maybe aish and a second rounder, Kavanagh and the Dons 1st and 2nd rounder, JPK, I really am lost for players that might spring up here. Maybe 2-3 of GWS' second tier players (Buntine, Plowman, ???) but you'd need to play hard ball because after the first 7 - it's all pretty even after that - luck and development because there isn't depth. -
Walker was an academy selection but good point about the rest. Still as rare as Hens teeth

2015 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

The rest of their draft picks this year. Sydney will have to go into negative points (i.e pay their first rounder of 2016) to get Dunkley as well. -
Demonland Player of the Year - Round 11
Dee-licious replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6 - Vince - really dominant game 5 - Hogan - 5 for 5 4 - Watts - influential and is strarting to realise how good he can become 3 - Jones - broke the tag 2 - Toumpas - best game for the club 1 - Viney - killed Steven for the most part -
I've been thinking about this too. The best forwards in the last decade have been top picks or father sons. Anyone have an example of one from later in the draft - or will we call it the King Exception?

National Under 18 Championships - 2015
Dee-licious replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Parish slides to us I will be doing a merry jig! Tucker, Parish and Mattherson should have gone too 3 but with some outstanding performances from the talls have seen them slip down the order. Schache has done a Petracca and moved from a 10-15 range to number 1 contention. Still a lot of football to be played but anyone who goes in the top 5 is going to be a serious gun. This top end is mouthwatering -
29 gone 7 or lead
-
So was Dawes.....
-
5! A Le Bron performance from the King.

That is very exciting how well King has been doing in the last 2 months. Good on him. Great story so far.
