Fair enough, it is opinion only. But if your going to make a suggestion and someone shows you evidence to the contrary you don't need to be defensive. Counter argue it with another example perhaps? It's not grade 5 here, I'm fairly certain Dermie or anyone other passionate football person is not sitting back awaiting the moment to infiltrate another club when they seek him out for advice. Mmmm, wonder what he is up to in his evil lair right now!! Plotting the demise of Jack Watts no doubt.

I was only responding to your average comment, not the entire population. But continue to allow others to get the words out for you if that is how you choose. I'll remember to pay scant regard in future.
-
A well made point that is very wrong. If you've read recently at all you may have noticed the Jobe Watson/Greg Williams story. Was that a slap in the face of any kind to any coaching group? Hardly, Williams was able to offer further expertise in an area he excelled. As could Dermott, or someone else of similar quality on the field. A Kernahan might be good for Jack as he has a similar frame. But no, lets just continue to look within and only employ those that have worn red & blue. Surely your not serious with that comment? Certainly some benefit from Ox and Neita could be appropriate but I'd like to see a voice outside the club. Someone that knows success inside out.

I do like your counter argument though Has someone not told you they love you enough of late? Your additions to some threads today are average.

Must be all those drinking sessions at the Turf Club on a Saturday night that King can impart that knowledge. I actually rate Kings thoughts on football fairly highly but that is crap. Why should the team suffer as a result of one? He'll be VC again in 2012. Bank on it!

If we continue the form thus far I won't be celebrating. There is little evidence that Bailey is improving where the team is at IMO and so, have nothing to admit here. Yes it will be nice to look and see us sitting in there but it will be like so many meaningless stats that don't really tell the full story. Any half decent forward inside Brisbanes forward 50 would have seen us lose that game. On the form exposed, had it been in Brisbane we would have likely lost after that start and we should be beating them anywhere. At least showing a bit more than was on display. Don't let the ladder position suck you in.

Did you actually watch anything or commenting because you don't like him? Very dismissive what you have written here and Paul Roos is much much better than that. He never kicked anybody. He spoke well and seems to be the small start of a chorus of commentators starting to make comment on the coaching/plans we have in place. Maybe he is angling to take over Bails job and getting it out there.

Who's first 20 games were better? More enjoyable?

Gerard Healy on 3AW suggested that MFC would be derelict in their duties if they didn't seek out Brereton, as a mentor for Watts. He suggested that Watts talent was undeniable and that should he not make it, it would be a mark against the development team at MFC rather than the recruiting team. Again reiterating his call for MFC to call on Brereton. Watts was being given a game on potential rather than form was also mentioned. Spoke well on all fronts and it is obvious that someone like that is needed for Jack. Agreed with all he said.

Gee I hope this debate is not as hot when he is a 27 yr old!!

No. The 'who would you pick argument' and this kind of talk is not helping. Over look this completely. For Mark Robinson to write, "It's too early to claim it a draft blunder by the Demons. Just" is simply a stupid bl00dy statement. Every single club in this land would have taken Jack Watts at # 1 in that draft. In Perth they may have leaned towards Nic if not Jack but certainly not Hurley. If the argument on output is required, well there isn't one. Hurley has made greater gains and has more strength in the contest right now. Simple. I'm sick of Jack Watts.

I'd hope for a solid start and a comfortable afternoon watching in front of the TV. But that sick feeling will inevitably rear it's head. Brisbane's forward line was garbage or they would've won last week and I can't imagine GC conjuring up many more opportunities than the Lions did. I'd expect us to score more frequently with it in our forward line often enough and if Jurrah has Karmichael on him, all the better. Who cares what an Ablett thinks anyway.

It's Weds tomorrow. Closer to game day again and we can talk about the real issue with Moloney. His questionable disposal. There, I said it.
-
I was interested to see the write up! Had we a stand alone VFL side we could at least reflect on Millsy's haul on Karmichael last year. The mighty Sox got a 16 - 5 pasting today and I expect a similar scoreline to be read about when this thread comes up again in 12mths times!

Put on the spot it is difficult to recall game breakers from him in 2010, your right. The call earlier to trade is way off the mark though as he was pretty close to being named skipper I would have thought, so he won't be going anywhere quickly. I'd like to see Davey given a bit more help off the ball from some teammates. Shaking tags is not just down to the individual although I do note that Flash can do his bit a hell of a lot better.
-
Don't add 2009 to your argument though!
-
It's quite frustrating seeing how easy he is put off. But this is also a team problem. The free kick for Jamar aside his team mates do not get up and help him in anyway at all. Jurrah did at one point, Trengove will give a bump or two here and there but other than this there is very litte support. Even the shepherding, blocking and making space is lacking when they handball off to him in traffic.
-
You put your point across well Webber. I fear it is the non improvement in those tight confined spaces that say something, he is not thinking with any surety of what to do with the ball. Perhaps other than getting it forward.
-
Did you get that from the two or 3 roosts he kicked at goal for the year 2010?? I can't recount too many more as easily as you can. I rate most of his disposal as not great, certainly not consistent and if it was he would be talked about a lot higher than a possible under rated player from an ex coach on a Monday night football program.
-
Clearly put him above a C grader???? Because ONE person mentions he is under rated? Some people are so easily pleased. Roos wanted to trade Jude Bolton 3 years ago. Jude Bolton is a major reason Sydney are yet to loose a game. Opinions are great.

David King is all class when it comes to the modern game

There you go. That will do nicely.
