This is behind a paywall - what sort of "massive fine" are they referring to? Full fine or part suspended (which in itself is a farce)? Is the fine part of their salary cap? If not "massive fines" mean very different things to different clubs eg MFC 2012 vs WCE or Carlton. This is far more a case of "bringing the game into disrepute" than alleged tanking without tanking. Far worse, especially given the current (entirely correct) emphasis on concussion. Sounds a bit like the usual AFL, outrage without major consequences.

Just having another look at the replay - Petty's fourth goal after he was going back and forth, side to side, leaving the defenders guessing is just what we have needed in our forward line for ages.
