PREGAME: Rd 12 vs Carlton
Are you suggesting that McVee just has a week off on the sofa? That is not how it works. IF he played at Casey his running would (as in AFL) be monitored and he would have to put in extra track work to maintain his 'loading'. Though I guess VFL could be less taxing on the body if that is what you mean. wiz - I guess the match committee / coaching panel look at a bit more than disposal data. Sure we haven't lost a Coleman medalist, but we have (on goal stats) in effect lost our leading gaol kicker of the last few years, Fritta, whose form and output has been way below his best. Injury? Opposition worked him out? Even worse delivery forward than in previous years?

The List
Precisely. A lot of skill and research but also a fair bit of luck especially in the higher picks. Wasn't James Hird in the 80s and Chris Grant >100?

Not worth selling the farm for, especially if as pointed out above he does better leading into space rather than contested pack marking. Nobody who likes to lead to space is going to fit our game style which is based on ignoring (or not even making) leads into space* but rather bombing to a pack in the pocket. *at least drawing some of the defenders away from the pack leaving fewer to contend with in the pack contest.

Sestan & Verrall Re-Sign
Sestan - IF he makes any significant impact as AFL level in 2024 it would be the recruiting steal of the century surely. He oozes excitement at times already at VFL and seems to have special skills. Hope he makes the grade. Verrall - is he really part sponsored by Clarrie? What a sign of a great clubman, and also an endorsement of a developing player who he envisages working with over the next few years. Watch with great interest.

MRP & MRO Fiasco
I was looking for a thread to vent (some of) my frustrations. Friday nights game Swans v Carlton — didn’t watch it all but I saw two Swans give head high impact to the head ultimately resulting in a concussion, and two more slam tackles where the head hit the ground. Did that dumb [censored] Christian cite any of these? Any of these involving one of ours would get 2-3 for starters. He is NOT impartial and or NOT competent. Could be construed as corruption.

This REALLY concerns me
I guess a “smart lawyer” could argue that his concussions make him not competent to properly consider any waver conditions. A very difficult issue. A bit like people having a right to be alcoholics or do certain drugs then becoming “brain dead”. No simple answer.

If he were similar enough to kick 6 goals in a GF that would do it for me 🤗🙄

PODCAST: Rd 11 vs Walyalup
Amongst all the doom and gloom expressed on these forums, it was refreshing to hear George in particular put it all into perspective and into the context of an entire very long season - hopefully one that last until the very end of September 🤞❤️💙❤️💙 I will listen to this one again whenever I start to get a bit depressed about us not easily winning every game. 🙄 Many thanks.

"If you can beat Geelong at the Cattery then you can beat Collingwood at the G. Even Collingwood players are human (sort of) theyre not AI robots." .... though not many of their fans

I would be interested to hear if there are any forward delivery drills that involve the talls actually spreading and smalls in crumbing positions instead of our norm of all flying in each other’s way.

Let's try and pin point the actual issue.
Entrecôte anyone?

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Walyalup
But a degree of anger when something, someone, or entity of which / whom you are passionate is wilting / disappearing etc before your eyes is surely appropriate. It is where and to whom it is addressed that matters. Maybe. Tom is strong, competitive, defensive, and can kick long vital goals. I did wonder in the distant past if a fully committed, fully fit Colin Sylvia could also have filled this rôle but an and b never occurred or at best aligned. Making it up, or following directions from HQ perhaps, which does tend to further the great conspiracy theory Maybe it is both?
