Merging Saints Hawks and North (all of whom have voluntarily played in Tasmania) creates a 16 team competition which somewhat equalises the FIXture and also spreads the talent pool both for players and umpires. This will never be allowed by those who control the AFL, that is the media, who would prefer 20 teams. In summary we will be stuck with the bye bye bye VFL type of scheduling which is so grossly unfair. But then fairness has never ever bee a priority at AFL HQ.

Petty provides a competitive strong marking option up forward, who also applies strong defensive pressure. Unless and until BBB or TMcD show that they are fit / injury-free enough, and hit some form, surely Petty stays. Maybe Disco can get a run as a third tall defender soon.

Sure Joel may be a skilled footballer, but he has played one VFL game in half a season, and has only just resumed full training. Not nearly ready for a recall. He could have been a champ, but has never had the opportunity to show it. And what do you mean by losing Weed for Sashy - didn't we suggest / ask Weed to move on so how were we dudded? JVR a liability??? Have you watched our games? He not only kicks goals (only 1 v NM) but also works up the ground and is coming along very nicely for a 6 gamer.

Cade has been brilliant particularly in both games this week. I relax when he has the ball. (As much as I ever relax during a game - which I came closer to tonight than I can ever recall).
