  1. Sadly couldn’t see any of it. Any observations on JVR and Shasche.
  2. Merge Saints Hawks North ( all have voluntarily played down there) leaving 16 teams - better talent pool, no bloody byes and closer to an even schedule.
  3. Sure Frittata is very important, but to say we are stuffed if he doesn’t play is overly pessimistic in my view. Of course would be sorely missed but one man’s misfortune is another’s opportunity NB JVR Schack
  4. Thanks all That (presumably ex-) mud heap - remember going to a match there circa 1965 - pouring rain, cold as charity, mud even on the outer hill.
  5. Doesn't necessarily mean that JVR will not debut - could Richo be indulging in deceptive gamesmanship??
  6. Just, perhaps, JJ’s reluctance to move the ball on / (apparent) hesitancy is his acting under instructions? After all, as many have commented, he seems to be definitely “on the inner” with the coaches and selectors, which he wouldn’t be if he were doing this against instructions / game plan.
  7. ..like Froggy Crompton did one important day in 1964 🤗🤗 “….What sets him [JVR] apart from the other KF is his intensity when the ball hits the ground. He's brave in the air and ferocious when it hits the ground in a way Tmac, BBB, Fritta and Gawny aren't…” he must be really something if he is ahead of Frittata in particular in this aspect of his game Sounds so exciting 🤗🤗🤗
  8. Sure Sestan shows plenty of skills and goal sense, but he is more than likely a full year short of fitness / endurance to play at AFL senior level. But I agree an incredibly exciting prospect. Looking forward 2024 season.
  9. I suspect that a man of his talent, and ingenuity, may enjoy the challenge of multitasking.
  10. And of course Rivers is a pretty good long kick into the deep forward line.
  11. I would seriously hope that the days of "bomb it long forward" have passed, and that considered passing to a marking forward or even to space will supersede this tactic.
  12. Good luck to him but not with us. LOL your comment "not even at Ess or Saints" 😀
  13. Which is the highest point of HIS leap, not the highest point the ball has reached, which was the premise of the original discussion.
  14. Thanks all for the reports. I only saw Bowey mentioned once in passing - any thoughts on where he is in the medium / small defence ranking especially vis a vis Rivers and Hibberd. Presuming Salem won't be ready for round 1, who gets the nod?
  15. There is a term you have used there of which I am unfamiliar. Presumably not a person of high libido from postcode 3199?
  16. As I recall deep in ancient times North Melbourne had a dog track.
  17. in a strong northerly, if you had an umbrella up, you could very soon be at King Island 🙄😮 KITP - I presume that you are not proposing a relocation to Hong Kong, but I guess rather a happy ending?
  18. I agree Kozzie is worth a small fortune, but we do no want to get into Colonwood's situation regarding salary cap and offloading other top rated players. Is Byron Jnr a decent footballer? Has he moved to Melbourne to play footy or to keep his cousin company? And track watchers, how is young Burgoyne going? Is he seriously close to the last spot on the list?
  19. .... and recovered very well
  20. We should ask Steven Danks 🙄 - I am sure he would find something. But seriously, as far as I see the article didn't say how long he would take to get back to 100% - he is undoubtedly in the hands of an expert endocrinologist and may be able to get on track pretty quickly especially given the early diagnosis. Can any expert tell me what is the best Joel has achieved in terms of consecutive uninjured games? Averages 3 games a year. Can't immediately think of more than a handful. Poor bugger can't take a trick, but the 2 years contract seemed bit strange.
  21. Fabulous display of mixed forward craft - marking, leading, crumbing fumbles (a specialty of his playing the Bulldogs) , snaps, and great kicking. But also a sad reminder of how many "comfortable leads" we threw away in the second half of the season. Hopefully a lesson learned.
  22. I don’t mind the club holding back information on injuries if it makes it harder for oppositions to target our players’ injury, but I guess if Clarrie is carrying a sore hand it will be apparent for all to see. Maybe the devil is in the detail.
  23. Maybe our defence is just slow and lethargic (MFCSS) 😱😱😱🧐🙄
  24. Sensible tweak to an overly officious rule, but as always there will be 1000 different interpretations -
