  1. I suspect he is in the long line that has already formed. I mentioned somewhere earlier that I had heard that there is already a huge class action targeting close to a billion dollars. I hope if the AFL goes bankrupt that Gil and his henchmen are happy with this week's work.

I was at the preseason match v Richmond at Casey and yes it did seem to work quite well. Maybe we will see it miraculously work again with big wins over the next three weeks 🤞
  3. Surely they have just come out and said it is OK to KO an opponent if you are (a) from a big club and (b) favourites for the flag.
  4. Covid aside, I haven’t missed a GF since the early 2000s but sure as hell, Collingwood or not, if the Dees aren’t there I am not going to promote this disgusting hypocritical organisation’s “big day” by attending. Maybe cutting off my nose to spite my face but I feel absolutely ill that Gil’s buys club has countenanced this travesty. The AFL need to come out and announce “the head is now a valid target” for a “big club player” in an important time of year. Maynard 2023, Cripps 2022. Pack of lying hypocrites.
  5. Thanks AFL - absolutely p155weak. I was enthused about this finals series but you can GAGF. Zero integrity - corruption rules. Gill wants a Collingwood v Carlton GF as his farewell, and he will stop at nothing to see that happen.
  6. Head high contact occurred - severe impact / outcome - and reckless / careless - none of this can be disputed, yet the bastard will likely get off, or a one match to "not deny him the opportunity to play in a GF". This is the AFL's biggest concussion test yet - anything under 3-4 is abdication.
  7. If it was Gill I am sure it was optics - that is how he always works. Haven't seen enough of the other two to comment, though Laura looks promising, and thankfully is not a member of the 'old boys club' At least an artificial intelligence bot would have some intelligence, even if artificial. MC has none.

I don't know it for a fact, but IF Brundy asks to move on due to lack of opportunity, then why would any sane mature wannabe first ruck want to come to MFC? Yes, maybe an up and comer wanting to look ahead a year or three, or a genuine forward / 2nd ruck. Are there any of these available?
  9. sacrificed is way too nice a way of putting it. IF, emphasis on IF, it is true that he did not support a sanction then he should not be sacrificed as you put it, he should be well and truly run out of all things pertaining to AFL.. It would be a bloody disgrace, but on par with many AFL 'decisions'. see above
  10. Angus was actually no longer the ball carrier - he had kicked it and it went over Maynard's head well before contact was made, forcefully, high, with devastating consequences.
  11. There is no requirement to prove malice or intent - reckless which it was, though the AFL have softened their language to careless, with high comtact and high outcome = 4+ weeks, minimum.
  12. I am speculating just which of dozens of apt descriptions of Barrett is the word that was censored. 🤔 If he is not it would suggest that suggestions of deep corruption in the AFL may not be far off the mark. Do it Gil - make one last positive contribution. And nobody is suggesting that anyone is suspended when they trip over their feet - but there are rules against brutal assault and if they are not enforced, the game is stuffed That would mean 4+ minimal, even if "just" deemed careless. Next they will be saying that Angus head butted poor Maynard.

Yes. A definite line in the sand moment. Will they crumble under Collingwood and media pressure? Wouldn’t put it past them. “Poor guy is remorseful and could miss a premiership”. For this reason alone I hope that whoever meets them in the preliminary final beats the hell out of them, and wipes the smug “premierships a cakewalk” smirk off their faces. However is there any higher grading available ? There used to be an infraction known as a charge - is this still there? This was a brutal assault, after the play, and deserves whatever maximum is available for said infraction.
  14. Seriously!!! IF that is true, it confirms Christians ineptitude and or incompetence and or bias and he should go immediately. I did say when the incident happened that Christian would be compromised and may well let it go.
  15. OMG - where do we start? Obviously the cause of most of our losses has been, and remains, our forward line and mid-forward connection, such as it is. What is the point, George, of us winning "expected score" week after week - it is the actual score that we, and the football world at large, care about. The Demons' inability to convert has become ingrained as the hallmark of this squad; players, coaches and maybe even recruiters. 100%, and it frustrates the bejeezus out of most of us fans. Bomb it long to a huge pack, when we don't have any pack marking forwards! What could be more insane. Wouldn't it be better to bomb it long (if they must) into any semi-empty space and at least have an opportunity for a crumber to crumb? Or to spear it into space or even a contest low? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, (especially when it clearly doesn't work) and expecting a different result. If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you always got. Thinking ahead to the off season, (hopefully >3 weeks away) surely the club must get a new and different thinking forward coach. What are the panel's thoughts on replacing JVR? Some on this board have suggested Disco Turner. I am unaware if he has ever played or even trained with the forwards. Would "trying him out" in a cutthroat final be sane? Maybe it would: could it be worse? My guess would be Schache though I don't in any way enthuse. Was TMc as bad as many here post? And of course there is the elephant in the room - Brundy. Is there any place at all for him? Desperation all forward - really desperate?? Extra tall mid????? I am not sure if as sub he would offer sufficient versatility. Many thanks once again for your hard work and fantastic podcast - even after such a heartbreaking loss your calm analysis (sometimes) helps allay my MFCSS.
  16. Interesting to see numerous posters suggesting that Turner could be played as a forward. Q: Track watchers - has he ever trained (or played for that matter) as a forward? It would be almost unbelievable were he to start doing this in a cutthroat final.
  17. Michael. All we want from you now is three more WINS! Thanks for all the great memories. ❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙
  18. Can we please recruit this Tim Miller, whomever he is, as our forward coach?

Even for a novice concussion, he wouldn't be out and about for up to a week. Angus would be, sadly, all too familiar with the protocols, which are now even more rigorous than when he was last concussed. I would be very surprised were he to be involved with anything at the club until after PF weekend, and not likely to play even if we somehow do get to the GF. Thanks Maynard, you dirty dog. 😠
  20. We will see soon enough just how deeply corrupted the AFL has become. Is Nathan Brown quoting odd on the tribunal outcome? Collingwood player in a finals series. Surely sufficient grounds.
  21. Turner as a forward who has never played in our forward structure, such as it is, in a cut throat final? 😱😱😱 Lewis - how bad is your MFCSS? Why else would you say that Fritsch will be on one foot by then??? 🙄🙄
  22. Surely Gil can arrange for his wet dream Collingwood v Carlton GF. A few more "favourable goal reviews", a tribunal reprieve for Jack Martin. Wouldn't trust him / them at all.
  23. I will remain the sometimes wrong optimist, rather than the always right pessimist. Lawyers, and brown paper Visy bags yet to appear.🙄
  24. How about even just a few players leading wide …. a defender has to go with them making these packs less dense. Even for self preservation this makes sense, and even a bomb wide of the mob surely can help. How many pack marks up forward have we taken this year? Very few. Touché Wouldn’t they be under less pressure if they spread? Looking forward to the podcast - they put a lot of emphasis on this. see above. Spread. Dummy leads. Drag opponents away from the contest.
  25. .... or even non forwards who can disperse leads so that it its impossible to find a pack of 20 to kick it towards. Harmes season ending injury today I believe.
