It would be fantastic, IF all the ifs are ticked, and he wished to return to MFC, were we to get him "cheaply" in the PSD. I won't hold my breath but will watch with interest.

IF he gets fit enough, IF he recovers fully from his injury, IF he is mentally right, and IF he wants to return to AFL, does he not need to go through the draft? IF the answer is yes, then how can anyone say where he will end up? As the AFL seem reluctant to consider us for a priority pick, could they in their infinite wisdom just for once make up a "ruling" on the run and give him some sort of special dispensation to nominate MFC ? Who knows. I don't.

How come we are stuck with this underscheiving blue sky that will never get us anywhere, when we should obviously have taken that fantastic teal sky that is exciting all those lucky Port Adelaide fans. What a shocking choice.

IF he decided he wanted to play for Freo then surely he would have wanted to remain on our list and be part of a trade. - a potential win win win for all involved. As it stands (I believe) his only option would be to go into a draft and risk having to play at Blacktown with $cully

Does anyone here ACTUALLY KNOW where he stands vis à vis what are his and our options were he to choose to make another attempt at an AFL career. It would seem to me that he is not on any list and as such he would have to enter via the main draft. Are there any precedents, or any special provisions pertinent to this situation?

A great dream, but highly unlikely -Tattslotto type odds. IF, big IF, he decided that he wanted to return to AFL, perhaps to enhance his mental health recovery, AND attained the requisite fitness levels, would the AFL be prepared perhaps consider using their discretion, as they undoubtedly can, and in the interests of "mental health awareness", perhaps even supported by a certain former Hawthorn president and Beyond Blue chairman, make some sort of "special case scenario" that would allow him to return to MFC without being subject to normal draft conditions? Just a thought bubble really.

Yeah. I look forward to either one striving to be better than the other, not in a one upmanship sense but I think they will push each other to greater and greater heights. . I couldn't help noticing JKH and to a slightly lesser extent Salem doing this too, especially early in the Crows game. Very poised. Both look to have what Alan Jeans once (was reputed to have) said when asked what attribute he looks for most in a young player - balance !!
