  1. You keep saying "my understanding" - is that based on sound data / facts or rather hope like many of us? King - I was going to suggest that we give Jack7 a mirror What - a true believer planning an April wedding? Heretic. Burn him at the stake! On the contrary - IF he makes it back, I would hope he would be right in the spotlight every week....mark of the week, goal of the week, Coleman leader, first Demon to reach 100 goals etc etc
  2. A great dream, but highly unlikely -Tattslotto type odds. IF, big IF, he decided that he wanted to return to AFL, perhaps to enhance his mental health recovery, AND attained the requisite fitness levels, would the AFL be prepared perhaps consider using their discretion, as they undoubtedly can, and in the interests of "mental health awareness", perhaps even supported by a certain former Hawthorn president and Beyond Blue chairman, make some sort of "special case scenario" that would allow him to return to MFC without being subject to normal draft conditions? Just a thought bubble really.
  3. Certainly looks as if we have snagged a couple of absolute rippers this time. Congrats to the recruiting team.
  4. What a great article. I haven't read many or maybe any of Murphy's articles before but I will now. Well written. Does anyone know if it is all his own work or is it ghosted.
  5. and only one season since our last flag....how many would have dreamed in their worst nightmares that we would be still waiting? Hard to believe that our last winning GF tickets cost probably about 8 shillings and sixpence !!
  6. Yeah. I look forward to either one striving to be better than the other, not in a one upmanship sense but I think they will push each other to greater and greater heights. . I couldn't help noticing JKH and to a slightly lesser extent Salem doing this too, especially early in the Crows game. Very poised. Both look to have what Alan Jeans once (was reputed to have) said when asked what attribute he looks for most in a young player - balance !!
  7. There were certainly a lot more Amps today, which, multiplied by the Volts (= well known potential), meant a lot more output of energy = Watts. Now he needs to back it up again and again.
  8. Do you mean banished from the game in disgrace??
  9. Shocking luck, Mitch, and a gutsy decision to come out in the open with it. All the best. OMG - this club is cursed, and it must be related to the shocking treatment of NS. Every exciting forward prospect in the past few decades, with the exception of David Neitz (and to a less extent Gary Lyon though he carried significant back injuries for years) has been cut down in his prime by injury. We are the only established club to never produce a 100 goal FF, and probably never will. Life sucks.
  10. ^^ Jack & Chelly All too true - an abysmal lack of forward planning. The old adage - "Fail to plan: plan to fail" has never been truer.
  11. Thanks again wyl - I can't seem to find such an App in the app store. Can you recommend a particular one?
  12. Thanks wyl - will give it a go later
  13. Does anyone here with superior technical knowledge and an ability to explain these things in simple terms know if I am able to save this clip to a USB stick, via an MacBook Air, for later viewing? If so, how?
  14. Do you seriously think that a proven coach and developer of player like Mr Roos would re engage Neville if he felt he was a lost cause? Roos obviously sees something that Neville hasn't produced, and that his previous coaches have been unable to get out. It will be an interesting excercise but I look forward to seeing how the season develops for Nev.
  15. and Ollie is playing in a top 8 side: Dimirti is playing in the very worst midfield in memory.
  16. I guess that explains why he had such a good game vs Geelong ! NOT !
  17. I agree with you opinion; it is way too premature to judge what one player does in a good (top 8) midfield with another in a bottom 2 midfield. Just unfair to compare. Were the boot on the other foot Wines may be deemed the "under-performer", unfairly.
  18. Couldn't agree more The kid had a shocker - who hasn't?
  19. Give the guy an opportunity under a creative rather than a negating coach and he may well blossom. Good to hear - and what some seem to forget despite being reminded, is that Toumpass is playing in a very poor midfield as compared to Wines. (Hypothetically) swap them for a few weeks and you may be surprised.
  20. We only have one Tapscott and one Fitzpatrick, so how can we trade a Tapscott or a Fitzpatrick?
  21. or JT5 and JT9?. I love them both!
  22. FFS - we have Jimmy, please support him guys. We didn't pick Wines on basis of need and best fit, especially as we had Viney. And to all those drooling over Wines remember he is playing in a (for now) far better team and better mids around him. Some posters seriously will never say we got anything right.
  23. His disposal and decision making was first class last night. Looking forward to him having another preseason and getting out there with young Viney.
  24. LOL :-)))))) .uite right what you say about keyboard warriors. I for one can't now bring myself to hit the <homonym with Kew> button - just lack the guts..
  25. Waiting for the next "he's not as good as Wines" post, forgetting that Wines is playing for a team that can (sometimes) play decent footy, whilst Toumpass is in a struggling team.
