Pedersen has done so much more in half a game than Dawes has all season.
-
Matthews is a dunce. "Haven't seen Fitz play defense all that much". Er....Leigh. First time today you moron.
-
Injury aside, one would have to Bail #44 out around 3/4 time, or mid 3rd
-
and free agency has / will strip up of at least some of these, unless and until MFC becomes a power, a destination club and not a nursery.
-
Great to see a positive article and hear positive things from our younger players.Re the next captain, Tom McDonald would also have to be in the running.
-
and as I recall little or nothing was said at the time about his (certainly uncharacteristic) fumble in front of goal in the dying seconds.

Yes. Probably poor planning re Stretch. Very little game time for weeks on end. Unless that is a planned part of his management, somehow. The VFL byes have been a blight for quite a few years. IIRC last year there was a bye then a state round so some had no footy for three weeks. Not the best for development

Seriously, does Gil want to be remembered as the CEO who destroyed the once wonderful and most popular game / religion in Australia? He is headed that way. Just as shocking head in the sand governance is driving former members away from the Catholic Church in droves, shocking governance threatens our game too.
-
OMG - so bloody negative, Deefiant. He can only play where he is selected - can't prove himself as an AFL player when playing VFL. Why not say he is doing as well as (or better than) expected at the level at which he is selected? It is his first year FFS.

What an amazing game SS v H. Watching on TV what impressed me most - glad to see a lot more down the ground views - was the continuing run and run and run when players of both sides did not have the ball...and did I say run and run. Saw just a bit of it round 1 but so rare from MFC teams over the years. Hope they were watching.
-
I would hope, given his age (or, rather, youth) he will be given more time. One very negative poster last week criticized him for only doing well in the VFL 2s - but he is very young, and can only play where he is selected.
-
Hold this thread until after we play them - IF we beat them, and beat them well, then and only then can we start to gloat, if that is our fancy. Until then we are as bad a they are. And Roos came with not a bad record either. We need to disprove that it is our "ingrained poor culture" holding us back. Actions speak louder than words (and than Dawes for that matter).

Yes, but seriously, someone who cannot keep, or cannot find, very important records employed as an auditor? Garbologist maybe, janitor, car park attendant......just not an auditor
-
If Melbourne was interpreted as "Greater Melbourne", with Collingwood restricted to postcode 3066, EssUndone 3040 etc then that could work. With no family transfers after age 10. But seriously, a nice idea but probably no longer practicable.

Father/Son Academy Higher Draft Price Mooted

The points thing looks very complicated. After all, they did such a good job with the MRP points system - not. I am sure that there will be spreadsheets and algorithms for the mathematically inclined to simplify it. -
Cold. Dark. Isolated. Not necessarily in that order.

I am amazed that anyone would employ him. And, as an auditor? After all, it does seem that he is pretty lax (or maybe very sly) at record keeping. Totally discredited. Did Gil the dill have a rôle in his appointment? Any conflicts of interest?
-
Their preferred candidate being rejected would just give them more (in their distorted view of the world) grounds for claiming unfair treatment. Suck it up. Still no word from WorkSafe / WorkCare ?? Interesting read in a recent post re the Feds showing interest. Lawyers please: even if by some mishap EFC and its players are "cleared" ie guilt not proven by CAS, if the Feds found criminal issues at EFC how could the club itself be punished? Could they be shut down? IF the were found to be in breach of the Helsinki Convention on human experimentation, which on face value they have in so many aspects related at very least to the governance of trials etc etc, who 'prosecutes'? What penalties are there? That in my understanding is totally divorced from any sporting code. It is a human rights issue.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 8
monoccular replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
He (Fitz) may well hit the scoreboard, if he gets the ball Sorry to sound pedantic, but do you mean few, or a few? (I actually do enjoy some pedantry) If only. Seriously? We are so suited to Etihad that we haven't won there if I recall since it was Telstra Dome or Colonial, or maybe just plain Docklands. Our record there is a bloody disgrace. Even way back when we played reasonable footy. And you make it sound as if we should thrash the pants off them with our list. Maybe, but they play as a team with confidence in one another. We did a couple of times early this year, with a fairly full list.....recently however we have played dispirited uninspiring footy with a depleted list. Let's hope that at least they come out and give it a red hot go. Anything beyond that would be a bonus. -
though we have had one player choosing not to play vs the reigning premiers.
-
Much as I am enjoying Carlton's struggles, perhaps schadenfreude is a bit premature - bring it on if/when we beat them, and more so if we can for the first time in years string together some wins.

Great post. Welcome. As another poster has said, maybe this is part of a three year plan. Let's hope so.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 8
monoccular replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fitzpatrick, Watts, Gawn, Riley, Newton, Hogan in for Dawes, Michie, Salem. Fitz and Newton are certainly surprises since they have been under injury clouds Dawes out - I must say I am surprised (but not necessarily disappointed) Fitz, Gawn - going tall to stretch the Dogs? -
Pink Floyd 'Poles Apart' could have been written especially for Jimmy: "Did you know, it was all going to go so wrong for you .... Why did we tell you then You were always the golden boy then .... Hey you, did you ever realize what you'd become And did you see that it wasn't only me you were running from Did you know all the time but it never bothered you anyway Leading the blind..........." And, by the way...any word from WorkCover? Any statute of limitations there? Maybe waiting for the CAS result. Can they use evidence produced in other jurisdictions?

Play Jeremy Howe as a forward
monoccular replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Let's cut to the chase. He has lost interest. The only question remains is - is it Sydney, Hawthorn, Collingwood etc who has him wrapped for 2016? Of course AFL, that honorable integrity filled body, would say that this cannot be done so early....but the record speaks.
