Tom McDonald - are his days as a defender over?
monoccular replied to Nasher's topic in Melbourne Demons
His [Jesse] best work in this comeback game was around the middle and wings. -
The club 'culture' is at a new high: an apology for this would dent this badly. Instead we need to get on the front foot and demand an apology from him, and from MCC and security for not evicting him immediately.

Tom could start deep forward (formerly known as full forward) with Jesse up the ground (CHF) - when Tom rucks, Jesse goes deep. Keeps the flexibility, and the opposition guessing. And throw in JW4 as a roaming mid / forward just for more variety and opposition headaches. -
He admitted that he did......where were the security bully boys? I am sure if it was a neatly dressed man, or a woman, they would have bundled him out quick smart.......but bogans stick together. Isn't he representing the AFL at Le Tour? Fans do not touch a player, full stop. Too simple for you Gil? Want a survey?
-
When he played up the ground he started to find form and touch. Silly to suggest he take the year off.

You want his address and his dog's name too? And his nice shiny car is ................. But I think Jake King is not taking on new jobs right now

So you close your eyes tight then? -
Without the absence of Jesse, we would never have had to move Tommy forward, and would be tossing up between him, his bro and Frost. The move has allowed all three to blossom Perhaps a blessing in (very deep) disguise. Seemed to work in well with Jesse this week ie making space for each other and making defenders separate. Haven't seen that with 2 big forwards for a long time - they usually get in each other's way. Vince made a few very poor decisions creating costly turnovers. Failed to provide leadership when needed. No longer in my top 22.

presumably this fragmented discussion refers to Hannon? Great pick up and versatile tough strong player who can snag a goal from nothing.
-
I saw it too - best post match presser that I have ever seen. He has brought something very special to our club - kudos to PJ and Roos (and all others involved) in getting him to us, and for a fantastic succession plan* * Eddie take note
-
deebug - have a close look at Ethan's avatar - only a head. They behead folk for that sort of thing in ?? "Delayed concussion", a condition unique to Carlton, from round 2

Entirely in our own hands. Adelaide next week, and Port the following. Win both and we are in top 4. Then keep winning. Easy really. ?
-
I heard on the radio commentary that security "spoke to" the scumbag but did anyone see if they reprimanded him in any way? Should have evicted him, or at very least moved him away from the fence.
-
I maintain the faith though as our top players get back he may well go back to Casey.
-
Are they maybe suggesting that he offered a meeting, late at night in a dark alley, with Jake King? Or was that Ty Vickery? Or maybe he was offering to send Dusty around with some chopsticks?
-
Disappointing that he hasn't taken on the on field leadership role when the skippers went down. Very happy that he offered ANB that option at the death knell today though. And kicked the goal - you never know it could even make a difference re percentage.
-
Presuming Dom and JW4 available - Stretch and Kent on thin ice IMO. And Vince had better lift next week with Salem possibly being ready the following week.
-
Oh yeah. Once again the victim's fault. At least he didn't do what the AFL cultural attache (or whatever) did and jumped the fence. Still, unwelcome publicity after a gutsy (and lucky) win.
-
KC - anyone put their hands up for next week?
-
6. Nev 5. Tom 4. Frosty 3. ANB 2. Clayton 1. Oscar apology Hibberd, Trac
-
The pessimist in me sees them calling the guys back out and giving the Blues a couple of free in the goal square.
-
He was THE leader who stood up. Lonely there. Agree re Kent, and Stretch. Hannan did OK, and cut Smith some slack as he hasn't played for a long time. IMVHO he was rushed back. Will be interesting as our top 22 come back.

A win is a win is a win, even an awful one. Though maybe the maggots can pull something out of the (brown paper Visy) bag still? Currently 4th.

OMG I think we have made it.
