  1. But remember Jeremy is playing in a successful team (14 v 7) ? Joking aside, what an inspired selection has Hannan been. Quick, hard, leap, goal sneak. A real surprise packet.
  2. Is that the same Garry Lyon who helped impose Neeld (?and Bailey) on us as part of the coaching selection panel? No thanks Garry. Loved you as a player but now irrelevant.
  3. Neither thanks How about Brisbane, as a wild card? ??? Gil?
  4. Surely it just another knee jerk reaction by the jerks at AFL house. Like the third man up, deliberate OOB, rushed behind, elbows sometimes ok, sometimes not, head sacrosanct or not, jumper punch +/-, personal consenting adult activities, etc, etc
  5. If we do get to finals after the annus horribilus we have had injury wise it will be quite an achievement. If we don't it will be a very firm foundation for a genuine challenge in the coming years. Whatever, a very positive year.
  6. Has anyone had any update on Dean's injury? Was it his first shoulder dislocation? If so could he be back in a few weeks, maybe? (I know Joel Smith missed a lot longer, but he was being handled with kid gloves due to his youth and future prospects. Dean is fighting for a place on the list so may push earlier)
  7. Petracca - think Darren Jarman in that GF v Saints.
  8. Then conveniently took of to France. Didn't someone else in this discussion also take off to France? Birds of a feather stick together. Remind me, what was Gil's role at AFL when the excrement hit the oscillating blades?
  9. When I saw the header "in the square" I thought. you were referring to the centre square. I reckon he should spend a bit of time up in the centre of the action, but do NOT think he would do the job as a on eon one "Pagan's paddock" type FF. IF he did not take the mark it would be cleared with ease. IF anyone was to play a deep isolated FF role, which I don't think is a great idea, Tom McDonald would be a far better candidate, or even Tracc, but not Jesse.
  10. Certainly not as vehement or vitriolic as the criticisms of JW4 from a few years back.
  11. He has looked more confident and been far more productive and a better contributor when up the ground. He doesn't need to call for the long high ball, and the upfield players don't feel the need to "kick it long" and high when he isn't down there. They got used to looking for a target when he wasn't there and still need to do that anyway And I do agree that he does need to improve his second and third efforts, which haven't been really up to standard in his two games back.
  12. I guess we can perhaps maybe assume that, but maybe the AFL don't keep specimens forever like WADA or the Olympic folk do. And what happens when Ben Cousins' turn comes around??
  13. One thing for absolute certain: IF EssUndone play in Darwin they WILL get a bye to follow
  14. I didn't see that. Is that the AFL segment run by Schmuk? So inappropriate to have one of their media guys making comments in advance of the MRP - never heard of sub judice?
  15. The Betts one was no worse, probably softer, than the Schofield one - 2 weeks Bernie The other was to the shoulder - two more weeks Bernie. After all, it was worse than the Moloney near miss MRP inconsistency WILL show through again tonight, mark my words. And of course Downlow favorite Mr Chopsticks will be deemed low impact - fine MRP inconsistency WILL show through again tonight, mark my words.
  16. The MRP will spin it harder than Warnie at his prime.
  17. matt - the first one usually hurts like hell though, doesn't it, especially until it is put back in? Later recurrences -- meh!
  18. Yes, but until recently we have not played particularly well after playing anywhere. Does anyone know any stats about how our various opponents have fared after the Darwin game? IF they have fared as badly as us it strengthens the argument for any Darwin game to precede a bye for both sides. As I saw it both teams were playing at the same ground under the same conditions, yet we fumbled more and we couldn't take the marks that Adelaide did. I saw it as we were playing against a far more mature settled team with most of their preferred mids available. willmoy - are you an alias for Brooooce?
  19. Yes, sure it looked bad him sitting up there practically on his lonesome but hey it was virtually a screenshot - TV guys like to try to create a story. They didn't show immediately before or after. Maybe as has been pointed out he had had decent analgesia, and at least part of his very obvious distress was the knowledge that he had, through a freak accident (ask Joel Smith) almost certainly missed out on an opportunity to show his stuff and resurrect his AFL career.
  20. Even remembering our darkest days, how grateful am I that we never took on Ross Lyon. OMG they are awful.
  21. Lynden Dunn? As I recall it was the longest and almost last kick in his MFC career.
  22. Jesse, at the moment, has more confidence and contributes a lot more when he plays up the field - CHF / wing / midfield - and Tom though he had an 'ordinary' night by his recent standards offers more deep forward. And when JW4 gets back, pressure will be shared and Jesse's confidence will rise. He has had an absolute [censored] of a year with so many deep issues, he needs and deserves al our support
  23. 1 HIBBERD 2 OLIVER 3 ANB 4 HUNT 5 JKH 6 PETRACCA Lewis was close for me but that undisciplined 50 on the final siren swayed me away in favour of CP
  24. Well certainly based on length and angle it is....up there with Blight's Did anyone get a chance to gauge the distance? 70-75m?
