  1. Isn’t April 1 is it? No way will he get a game 2023 without catastrophic injury list.
  2. …. like most of his colleagues.
  3. Melksham you are a bloody disgrace.
  4. Reality check big time. SEVEN UNANSWERED GOALS JUST UNACCEPTABLE.
  5. What an amazing kick by Fogarty. Hopefully will crush the Blues.
  6. Great to see at least at ¾ time Blues percentage down to 100.8
  7. Was the de Koenig who spoiled in the line into the goal square-> Adelaide goal. Fundamental error.
  8. Riv may not have the tank right now for extended periods in the midfield but the more players we can cameo through there the better the depth when the inevitable injuries occur. The entire squad based in Perth in that wonderful (though bizzaire) period contributed to the premiership, even those who didn’t play. In particular, and I believe Max has alluded to it, was Majak Daw who although he never played at senior level for us proved an invaluable training partner for Max.
  9. Even Target wouldn’t put Derwaynne, JB and BT in their sales bin - now, maybe, The Reject Shop would be a far more appropriate place.
  10. Is he any relation of Jamie Duursma who did ok at CHB for us in the late 80s early 90s?
  11. That is a bit nasty - unless you mean a season ending injury to his self esteem.
  12. Diamond Jim Tilbrook #2 ?? ”You are paid big bucks - get your own ball”!
  13. Of course there will be plenty of MFCSS in people's assessment of everything that Kozzie does from now until he signs or leaves. Just maybe he is feeling extra cautious in the circumstances
  14. TMcD does this quite a bit - runs his opponent all over the place, diverting them from the core, then breaking away to gain possession especially later in the game when less aerobically fit opponents waver. Not all of his hard yakka is recognised on the stat sheet.
  15. Thanks guys as ever for the informative and entertaining podcasts (and written contributions). Whilst Harrison Petty doesn't seem to be setting the world on fire as a forward, I do see the advantages he offers as both a competitive / combative beast in the forward line, and as the strongest and best back up ruck we have on the field at present. So until Max returns, I would keep his in his current role. He couldn't do the job from defence where he has his space to fill and opponent to account for. But when Max returns, will Harry return to defence? I guess a lot will depend on who is performing both forward and back when that momentous moment arrives. Supplementary question to Casey watchers: is Disco close to getting another run, and if so in whose place? The injured Hibbo? Regards
  16. Interesting concept - sort of Pagan's paddock. Our guys do have the leg speed to take advantage. Wonder why it hasn't been tried (unless it has).
  17. Maybe you are right, but I have lasting memories of my mixture of emotions in that minute or so - firstly anger at an umpire being so out of touch with "the feel of the game" that he could consider that anyone would be thinking what I think you are thinking, then the unbridled joy at the OOB on the full and the 50 m penalty, Jake's calmness and Max's brilliant mark and goal. Almost, just almost, more satisfying was the finger pointing between the Cat defenders who allowed Max to slip away. The overwhelming joy of the moment is still with me.
  18. Still it seems that some count disposals and judge players by that alone. Rôles are as important as raw numbers. Gus has been gap filling in defence and does it well. I believe most would agree that the VR was absurdly rushed in this case. Probably the fastest one in history because whoever the anonymous adjudicator wanted to get home or down for a drink. I will be furious if it were to cost us a ladder spot on percentage (though a game or two clear on top would make that irrelevant 😁) or cost Frittata the Coleman. Mind you, the absurdly ruled deliberate OOB by Gus in the dying minute of R 23 2022 turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
  19. I don't know of any (current) rules that would allow the AFL to step in, though no doubt they could invoke some "special" ruling to compensate $ydney for his list position were he to retire. On the subject, I didn't watch the entire farce at the MCG today but I did see a couple of pretty hard slam tackles where the head hit the ground. Will these be cited by the "independent" MRO?
  20. And how is Cameron's dicky hamstring going? Will it last a full year? When / if it twangs bye bye Geelong.
  21. Is reckless contact with an umpire still reportable? Of course there will be the Geelong exemption
  22. On what this time? Not sub if not 100% Seriously curious. Sure is. Which American sporting media code did he copy this from?
  23. Haven’t seen Jefferson much, but if JVR’s development is an example I would think he would be most unlikely to play this season. JVR was held back ever when we were in desperate plight. Maybe, given the state of the game, it was a learning opportunity?
