Maybe we should burn down the Reischstag in Spring Street and build a stadium there.
  2. But there would need to be a major multibillion dollar upgrade to Kardinia Park to accommodate it.
  3. And maybe I should also have mentioned the fact that we had a full finals season 2021, and a correspondingly 5 week shorter off season / preseason compared to all but Footscray who have also struggled.
  4. Maybe we should think of it in the opposite way - dream run with injuries contributed significantly to our win last year.
  5. I will reserve that judgement until after the game tomorrow. Maybe they will put a brace or bandage on his good leg ? Didn’t you realise that loading has targeted week 2 of finals to be at our peak 🙄

That gave me a good laugh when I heard him. (He doesn't make me laugh much.)
  7. Mmmmm. So are the logical replacements, Turner or Tomlinson training?

But has he had the chance to track his zenith yet? Could Max mentor him and turn him into a star? Any observations about his forward craft, if any? IMVHO it would be far more value fir money (and draft) to go for Meek and a potential tall forward than Grundy.
  9. I guess as the final three weeks of the season rapidly approaches, it is crunch time for the loading theory. IF we come out and absolutely dominate the next three weeks, Griffiths will be deemed a genius : if we limp out then some (or maybe many) will condemn him as incompetent, and THE cause for failure to win back to back. GO DEES. ❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙

Well if TV ratings are the real reasoning, this old fart finds for “neutral games” at1950 on a Friday night unless they hold special interest or at ripping games up to half time, I switch off at the half. Whereas for 1920 games I am far more likely to hang on.
  11. I tend to agree - though the retrospectoscope is an easy instrument to use after the event. We have some good young talent at Casey who haven’t even had a sniff, or a reasonable trial.
  12. I too was wondering that - there has been "some gastro" around the club - many looked flat ... or is it just a long season with more niggling injuries and 5 weeks less recovery from 2021 that is catching up. Of course - looking forward to hearing binman's thoughts - it could be superbly timed loading?
  13. I have been an advocate for giving JVR a run since mid season, then went off a bit close to finals, but am warming to the idea again. Surely couldn’t underperform Milkshake and would provide a decent contest every time.
  14. I stopped watching at half time but may turn it on again. Bulldogs were getting away with throwing even more than Geelong did this afternoon. Sickening blight on the game.
  15. The classic layman’s shinbone is the tibia, which carries the weight. The fibula (most of it) is for muscle attachment. Only the lower (ankle) end has much structural impact. So depends where it is. But in the context of this discussion, Smith was there and JVR wasn’t. As above, hairline fractures of the shin (=tibia) are what is referred to as “shin splints” I believe - Webber please comment. But as I understand these are cumulative stress fractures and not an acute impact injury. But, again, not really relevant to this discussion as CP5’s injury isn’t the tibia.
  16. Undoubtedly - but doesn’t change the fact that he has been well below par.
  17. Mmmm. Looks like the Dogs May have had some “learnings” from their last final at Optus.
  18. Hopefully will decide to sit and wait for a couple of years. ❤️💙❤️💙
  19. How can Elliott, and Mihocek stuff those up ?
  20. Though Cats May have spent their tickets in Q2
  21. Bad kicking bad footy Collingwood
  22. Pies already looking far too good. Hate to say it but am going for the Pies. Preferably without any help from 😎Cox, Ginavan, Howe.
  23. Or make a statement when it really matters? But at least they do have a couple of contested marking options unlike us.
  24. But at least he marked over Howe.
