Certainly looking forward to seeing how Sestan develops …. anything more than a development / fitness progress years would be an unbelievable bonus.

".players linking up through the middle and hitting forwards on the lead or over the defenders heads as the forwards ran behind them to an open goal. " So, a very welcome complete and total overhaul of attacking game plan - no "bomb it long, hope for a tall to mark"???? 😀

Mongrel Punt season forecast
….. yet still the stingiest defence two years in a row 🤔

AI on the football field.. Artificial Intelligence
Many of the recent rule changes seem to have been made by people with no intelligence, natural or artificial.

AI on the football field.. Artificial Intelligence
I guess it wasn't very sophisticated back then 🙄

I think you are really on the same page expressed differently. Few would argue that a fit Salam would not be one of the first choses - that is a fit Salem. Nobody should be picked, automatically or otherwise if they are not for whatever reason fit for cause. I hope we have learned that the hard way 2022.

Kozzie and Davey are built quite differently - that said I wouldn't like to see more than the odd cameo of Kozzie in the midfield. Maybe one or two centre bounces a quarter So, has Hunter become the hunted?

Our interesting mix of talls for 2023
And if they ever decide to adjudicate fairly and impartially the regular violent hits on Max's back and head would be cracked down on.

Our interesting mix of talls for 2023
It is still a very long time until round 1 - or even the practice match / Ansett Cup / Wizard Cup / whatever the latest name for preseason..

TRAINING: Wednesday 11th January 2023
Tomo was I believe recruited as a wingman ? the same trade period as Langdon but it didn’t work for some reason. Was it that joke of a season 2020? Then in 2021 going really well as a big defender he did his ACL -> premiership season over. Don’t recall seeing him much on a wing, and we have recruited Hunter presumably to play opposite Langdon so I doubt if Tomo will see much action there. Still he looks a determined big brute and I wish him well.

TRAINING: Monday 9th January 2023
I can’t remember if it was Parkin or Pagan, but a very successful multi premiership coach once said that a team needed to turn over at least 3 or 4 new players every year for sustained success. IMVHO we were a bit too comfortable / conservative in 2022 in failing to at least in “easy / safe games” mid season NB North and WCE in not giving some better performers at Casey a run

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
IF Sydney continue to have a cost of lining salary cap bonus maybe Geelong should have a lower salary cap than the city clubs 🙄 He could, possibly if all goes well, complement Kozzie but there is a hell of a lot of water to pass under the bridge before that happens.

Steven May Shares His Story
Thanks for posting this As Maysie said too many (guys in particular) have traditionally been very reluctant to “show weakness” by opening up about depression in particular. His opening up is actually a sign of strength and all kudos to him for doing this. A sign of a true leader. Regarding the parallel discussion re PTSD particularly in the military I think times have changed dramatically since WW2 and the even Vietnam. So many tried to “be strong” and denied their truly horrific experiences and sadly so many ended with suicide or family destruction. Thankfully although they still suffer terribly the Afghanistan and Iraq veterans now at least are offered far better mental health support than veterans of previous conflicts. Still, their traumas and anguish surely cannot even start to be appreciated by those of us who were spared those traumas. Thanks Steven for having the courage to share your story. ❤️💙❤️💙

2023 Season Preview
In these days of the MRP and video reports Matthews would have had a very short career - add Dyer, Whitten, in particular

2023 Season Preview
So let’s hope that the guys in charge learn from 2022 and at least tweak some changes to their injury management in 2023.

Welcome to Demonland Kynan Brown
Re Cooper Schwartz - I seem to recall the media going on and on and on about some guy, an OK player, at Collingwood “having a basketball background”. And of course there was someone who did OK late Q3 for us in the 2021 GF (though I heard somewhere that he is no longer with the Dees) who also “had a basketball background “. F/S Viney / Viney? If there are a lot of tough bull ball magnet mids going around then surely his disposal will count against him. Can Chocko really rectify fundamental flaws??

I remember long long ago some young damsel telling me something like that 🧐

Are we the slowest side?
... yet he continued to be elected. Must have been doing what he was asked to do I have been wondering with out entire forward line pushing up the ground, we often do find a completely empty forward line with no targets, why not adopt a version of Pagan's Paddock with Kozzie stationed slightly forward one on one.

Are we the slowest side?
Many have a go at JJ for hesitancy and stifling momentum: yes he did this more often than most, but does anyone really think given that he was repeatedly selected he was not playing to instruction / team rules? Surely had he been told that forward momentum was paramount and yet kept doing this he would have had a spell at Casey.
